"Legends" is its own universe. So yes, NJO still exists there, but I don't think any of it will exist in the current canon :P

I want Chewie to get into a fight with some alien lowlifes, and Han remark: "Not even a Muun will kill a Wookiee."
So much love for this trailer, that opening shot of the Star Destroyer had me in chills, and I wanted to weep for joy when Han said "We're home". Abrams, if nothing else is absolutely NAILING these trailers :D

Gotta admit, I love the "Sith" dude's appearance. The look reminds me of lot of Revan. The caped chrome trooper is neat too-- and destined for lens flare :P
A 35 year old man sqeauling like a school girl at 7:30 in the morning. That's what seeing Han and Chewie did to me. Loved the trailer and December can't get here soon enough.
oh my, this makes me feel so nostalgic, and somehow more hopeful than I expected.
@Raiju, this movie is set 30 years after rotj. Chewy died 34-35 years after rotj in the EU, so it could still possibly happen.
I would love seeing chewbacca dying with a moon smashing him, dying heroically still
I hate the new Empire symbol. Really bland.
But the new TIEs look amazing.
Chewie died in 25 ABY in the EU Brim.. he'd have been dead for 10 years in this movie. I think we can stop pretending anything we think we know is going to carry on. I expect stuff like planets, species etc continuing onward, but events? I don't think we have any idea what happened. Right now we're not even sure if there's 2 sides to this story or 3. Maybe even more. That may not be the Empire's symbol at all, it could be the New New Order :P

Sure, you might see Ledger play the Joker, but he'll not be Nicholson's, so you might get a story about Thrawn again one day, but it'll be a new tale. Same deal with the Vong, as yeah, they nearly stuck them in the Clone Wars show, so they might get reused again sometime, but it'll be a different story to the one we know.
Not that Chewie being alive affects the DB in any great capacity.

I assumed that was just Kylo Ren from a distance, though I admit I'm not 100%.
It's Gwendoline Christie, who plays the big Chrome Trooper baddy and a leader of sorts in this movie. The actress plays as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones on HBO.
The Empire are called The 1st Order in these new movies, the Rebellion are called The Resistance.
