Nar Shaddaa Refugee Sector

A cesspool of the downtrodden, the Refugee Sector on Nar Shaddaa is home to both the unfortunate and criminals alike. Offering their protection for credits, the criminal organizations that control the sector tax the populace outrageous sums. Unable to provide these fees, refugees are forced to work under hazardous conditions producing glitterstim and adrenals for their overseers. Some of these refugees are addicted to the substances themselves—for which the cartels increase the price of their tithes in exchange for a share of the product.

Crammed with stalls and makeshift hovels, several of the sector’s inhabitants find refuge on the streets and in the alleyways. Those who managed to avoid the dangers of drug production can be found selling their limited and often defective goods to others. Behind these stalls a selective stock of black market wares is hidden, reserved for mercenaries and thugs.

Littered with garbage, it is obvious that no maintenance droids have been programmed to maintain the sector. The surrounding towers have fallen into decay, bits of debris falling every so often into the middle of the street. The duracrete streets are covered in a film of filth and chemicals from the abandoned warehouses, making movement cumbersome when traveling through the most inhabited areas.

Patrols armed with blasters and vibroswords come through these areas regularly, making a show of force to advertise the merits of their ‘protection’ while extorting the occasional shopkeeper. Screams and shouts are a common enough sound, which is never in the refugees’ best interests to interfere in.

Doc pushed it too far this time. Not only did Lavanth lose a good deal on a slightly broken combat droid, one that he could have easily repaired, he now had some Bothan chasing after him. Not to mention that person was quickly gaining on him.

“You know what Doc? Next time keep your old trap shut.” The Togruta shouted as he turned a corner. His old mentor ran next to him.

“How was I to know that the Bothan would be insulted? Guys sensitive.” Doc retorted back. What had happened was Lavanth was attempting to see how broken the droid was to see how much it would cost to repair, if it was even worth it. The droid had slight problems moving, Its ability to speak was off and it had a hard time staying stable. Doc had to take it a step further and fire the damn thing. The bolt nearly hit Yvanos, the person now chasing him. Obviously when a shot almost hits you, you ask what they were doing. Lavanth Tried to apologize, while Doc was laughing loudly. The Warlord didn’t take kindly to that and ignited his lightsaber. Lavanth sensing that this was going to end poorly began to run.

“You shot at him! How would he not be insulted?” Lavanth questioned as he now got cornered in an alleyway. The Hunter turned around to see Yvanos smiling.

“Nowhere to run now.” The Bothan announced looking at the walls surrounding them. Lavanth pondered a moment. He raised one hand as if to say something, which caused the warlord to pause. They were close enough for what the young Hunter had in mind. Quickly the hand slammed the ground, knocking the Bothan on his end and hurling trash and other loose debris into the street. The Togruta hopped onto a dumpster and leaped onto the side of the building and pulled himself up. As Lavanth crawled onto the roof he heard an ominus thump.

“Enough with the running.” Yvanos growled.

“Any good ideas Doc?” Lavanth asked hopefully.
