Naboo Jan-gwa City

Unlike the Gungan’s submerged capital below Naboo, Jan-gwa rests partially underwater; the majority of the city rests above the water’s surface. A waterfall runs along the cliffs behind Jan-gwa, creating a veil of mist around the base of the city’s rounded platforms. Nocturnally illuminated, domed structures encompass the center of each platform and are home to Jan-gwa’s Gungan inhabitants. Some of the these structures extend below the water’s surface, creating an anchor that keeps Jan-gwa from floating with the currents and provides shelter to hundreds of Gungans.

Etched into the cliff walls are several faces of unknown origin. Resembling a humanoid with unembellished features, these carvings are not reminiscent of the city’s Gungan inhabitants—perhaps an indication that some other civilization might have resided near the floating city.

Blair Augusta Dearg found the Gungan city of Jan-gwa illuminated despite the fact the dark Nabooian night had already set in. Luckily for the Captain, it appeared as if she had arrived before her opponent. Laren Uscot was a mercenary employed by the Dread Lord and rewarded well for his service, even if it had angered some among the Sith contingent. The Kiffar found herself seeking improvement and among the Sith, she wasn't considered worthy of their time. That lead her to make Laren an offer he just couldn’t refuse. The opportunity to make sure his status as the undisputed strongest non-Force user in Plagueis would be cemented was appealing enough to draw the Pantoran to Naboo. To the Loyalist, this was just a training exercise, though she knew as badly as he would want to prove his superiority, he would know that keeping her alive would prove advantageous to the clan as a whole.

The Mercenary had only heard of his opponent in his previous stint as Aedile of Karness Muur, she was talented, of that there could be no doubt, but was she as talented as him? Not in his mind at least, He was unsure as to why Naboo had been chosen as the battleground for this particular encounter. Regardless, he had arrived and not been able to see his opponent yet; perhaps she had not reached the location at this moment? Whether she was present or not the man knew he had to be ready for anything, local wildlife and Gungans were the most prominent threats in the area usually, but for now, they had to play second fiddle to an off world predator. The Privateer decided to stay just out of sight of the city, facing the sheer cliff off to the side, a decent spot for a trained marksman to take a shot at their foe from the elevated position. Could he reach there before she spotted him? It was a risk he couldn’t afford to take.

The Captain hung back from the edge of the rocky cliff, it was too exposed to stay for long, she just needed to establish a visual on the Dread Lord’s Mercenary. Once that had been done, she could either rappel down the cliff face. The other option was to allow him to come to her, more of a risky strategy, in that if they got close to the cliff edge, it could get very close to life-threatening. The Kiffar spotted a pair of macrobinoculars that had been left on the ground, these would help in determining if her target was nearby. Looking through the macrobinoculars towards the nearby forest, she spotted a figure that she quickly identified as her quarry. She took aim at the target with her rifle, her shot impacting a tree causing the figure to dash for cover.

Blair made her way down the cliff face having secured the rope around a large rock at the top of the cliff. The figure was out of sight but it most certainly wasn't out of mind. The native of Pantora had to be around somewhere, she just had to find him. A cloak had been seemingly abandoned near the tree that had previously been shot. It was his for sure and the Kiffar knew she could use it to help find him. The former security worker read the object to see if there was any information to find regarding which direction the blue skinned wonder had fled. She closed her eyes and placed a hand on the dark black cloak, focusing in to try and find any hint of where her foe had headed to get this fight started. It took a few moments but then her eyes opened, and she set off for where she believed her opponent to be, which was seemingly closer to the Gungan city. The Kiffar was assured of this by the fresh set of footprints and broken twigs. Heading into the city might have been problematic had he forced her to follow him in, but he knew neither of them could afford to be detained and so stuck to the forest.

The native of felt relieved that his competition had shown herself, now he was attempting to formulate a plan to catch her unaware. Perhaps he could take the higher ground and gain an advantage that way. The Pantoran looked around for anything he could scale to give himself a wider field of view. Unfortunately, there were only the trees, who couldn’t be used efficiently and would easily give him away. He decided to just use his clear vision to make out a figure walking with a rifle aimed towards the ground that was advancing in his direction with a purpose. Preferring to shoot first and ask questions later a round of bolts departed from Laren’s blaster pistol and hurled themselves towards the target. The objective just evaded the fire, using one of the many trees for cover. The battle was on.
