Rhys stands at an average height and weight for his age, his figure slender from the early stages of training he is undergoing. His round childish facial features show the hints of belonging to the aristocracy though he is far from being done growing. His skin tone is pale ivory, and his short, spiky, chestnut brown locks are often pointing in whichever direction they feel like at the time.
His eyes are a haunting shade of silver, his sole defining feature which can make him stand out in almost any crowd and peek out from under any hood.
Rhys Edraven is perfectly capable of fulfilling responsibilities and doing his duties. But goofing off and having fun will always have a heavy sway in his decision making. He sometimes ignores orders or finds ways to spend as much time avoiding an assignment as possible.
Rhys Edraven's life is filled with training and learning for all sorts of situations, from the mind-numbingly normal to the utterly bizarre. As such, Rhys Edraven has developed into a rather resourceful individual. This has made Rhys Edraven a mix of academic and scholar, always with something to offer to any discussion. However, knowledge and training does not always translate well to the tense environment of the battlefield, and no amount of textbooks can prepare one for reality...
Rhys Edraven is very cheerful and happy, and always looks on the bright side of life. When chewing on life’s gristle, he doesn't grumble, but gives a whistle. He always hopes for the best, and enjoys laughing, smiling, dancing or singing. This unending optimism often improves the morale and spirit of everyone around him, and Rhys Edraven is always quick with a smile or a joke, even when drawing his terminal breath. This same exuberance can also be tiring to more jaded curmudgeons.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Rhys Edraven's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Rhys Edraven works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Rhys Edraven has learned to not take jabs about his stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for his inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Rhys Edraven's discipline of never overestimating his own abilities or those of his opponents. He has trained to fully utilize his size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. He knows exactly how to leverage his weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Rhys Edraven becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Rhys Edraven takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Rhys Edraven tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
