Benevolent Taldrya Whiner is a male human of average height and build, fair complexion but lacking freckles or blemishes. His face lacked any strong, defining structures, his short brown hair was normally messy and a little unkempt, and his facial hair was usually clean-shaven. His natural eye colour was a darker hazel.
Ben often had some sort of cut, burn or scratch on his hands—the ability to heal through the Force has made him a little careless about such petty concerns. After being adopted as a scion of the Clan he obtained a small tattoo of the Taldryan crest on his upper left arm, though it was often kept hidden from view.
Benevolent Taldrya Whiner has always enjoyed immersing himself in a good story, so upon reflecting on the unbelievable elements in his life he initially dismissed some subtle, nagging concerns as an overactive imagination. It finally clicked when he was exposed to the Brotherhood’s Holocrons and their histories: the Force isn’t some mystic power or divine unity, it's obviously a storyteller with a love of the outrageous and daring, and a sordid history littered with retcons and rewrites. Benevolent Taldrya Whiner is convinced he’s living in someone else's story and is willing to play along for now; at least until he can find a way to break down the fourth wall of his literary prison.
Benevolent Taldrya Whiner is a master of fitting in and impersonation. There is scarcely a planet in the galaxy where he can't manage to find a way to fit in, be it throwing together a convincing imitation of local guard or pretending to be a regular local. Benevolent Taldrya Whiner is so good at such that he may have seemingly lost all sense of personal style and flair, leaving him as always simply the imitator.
Benevolent occasionally lets his imagination run a little too wild, and envisions himself as a hardboiled private detective. It's nearly impossible to get a straight answer out of him while he's "speaking detective", but Benevolent turning his full attention to investigating has produced some surprisingly positive results in the past. Some think it's just a confusing joke, others think it's a misdirection scheme -- and behind closed doors a few wonder if stress finally cracked the egg.
Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Benevolent Taldrya Whiner has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Benevolent Taldrya Whiner to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Benevolent Taldrya Whiner will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.
Benevolent might not be your traditional front-line fighter, but he's still an old school Obelisk to the core. Perfection in the art of combat was the name of the game, and years of training have made the motions nearly automatic leaving lots of thinking-room for other tasks. If it seems like he's not giving his full attention to a fight, you're right. He might be carefully examining a potential weakness, thinking about a quick escape, or remembering the words to an old show tune.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Benevolent Taldrya Whiner? Benevolent Taldrya Whiner doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Benevolent Taldrya Whiner, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Benevolent Taldrya Whiner isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Benevolent Taldrya Whiner won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Benevolent Taldrya Whiner will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.
