Pel is slightly taller than average for a human, but does not appear to be so having spent so many years of his life in a ship's cockpit, he has a naturally stooped and hunched stance. For similar reasons his arms are much more developed than his legs, although there is no lack of grace to Pel's walk - what was lost due to disuse of physical muscles is more than compensated for in Force Attunement. His face is rather generic, no scars or birthmarks and it is beginning to show signs of aging, a slight thinning of the dark hair and a tiny bit of grey at the temples indicate that Pel is no longer a young man, yet again the Force connection keeps the physical ravages of time barely at bay. Dislike of shaving leads to a beard somewhere between perma-stubble and scrufy nerf-herder- but the strong moustache is clearly a conscious decision, a relic of the old Imperial Fashion. Pale blue eyes that are surprisingly quick to laugh for a Dark Jedi complete the man under the hood.
Pel has held many roles in his time; Rebel pilot, Infiltrator Pilot, Marooned Castaway, TIE Pilot, Sith Pilot, Desk Jockey, Captive, Leader, Secret Agent, Tactician and Hermetic Ascetic. All these experiences have allowed Pel to no longer be surprised by anything and to feel confident no matter the circumstances, maybe at times over-confident. Pel is also overly used to rely on his own skills to get him through situations, and has difficulty working well with others, especially when Pel seems himself as superior (almost always!).
Through a combination of preparing, studying, and analyzing, Pel Tarentae creates detailed battle plans and tries to think two steps ahead of the enemy. At times, however, this can lead to Pel Tarentae creating complicated schemes that can baffle less intelligent subordinates.
Pel Tarentae is still loyal to his Tarentum and is always seeking a way to re-establish it. He would sacrifice his own life to return the Clan to existence. This attitude sometimes brings him into conflict with Brotherhood leadership, or any Clan leadership he chooses to serve under (temporarily). He is usually inclined to work towards their goals as long as they do not directly oppose his own.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Pel Tarentae's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Pel was always a Sith Pilot, and that colors his outlook on hand-to-hand combat. Whenever possible he tries to plan and conduct missions without any ground combat involved. When he inevitably does end up in a physical confrontation, it is always entered with reluctance and trepidation no matter the odds. Not to say that he is completely inept - but he would rather be conducting an orbital bombardment or dogfighting than dueling with sabres.
Pel Tarentae is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He has spent his life building himself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead him to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even his superiors and subordinates.
