Physical Description

Proportionately trim with a naturally athletic build, Marick's muscles are lean and sleek as a hunting cat and shift under his skin with an animal grace. He has little in the way of body fat or bulk and is very lean and wiry. Not too pale, but hardly tanned, his handsome features speak strongly to his half-Hapan heritage.

Annoyingly perfect hair falls in thin strands down to his shoulders and parts evenly at the center to frame a strong jawline and smooth, flawless skin. He keeps his full beard tight and neatly groomed. Once black as ink, all of his hair has faded to a shade of ashen silver, as if the color had been drained and bled away from its former luminescence. The dark creases under his sharp, too-blue eyes adds the weight of years to his otherwise youthful appearance.

Noticeable Marks

On the underside of his right wrist, Marick displays the Oblivion Brigade Skull. A roman-numeral "XII" is etched onto his left wrist. His back is lined with pale silver scars left from repeated whippings as a child. He has a star shaped scar that lingers between his shoulder blades and a pale red slash mark across his stomach. The mark of the Arconae is tattooed onto his left pectoral, just over the heart. It features the symbol of Clan Arcona surrounded by a circle of ancient, tribal characters.

Arcane Awareness (General Aspect)

Marick’s true talent lies in his eerily preternatural attention to detail. Always alert to potential threats, he reflexively commits any room he enters to memory by noting every corner, doorway, shadow, light-source and occupant. He instinctively analyzes anyone that crosses his path, breaking down their posture, attire, armaments and any other quirks, tics or tells. This allows him to mechanically pin-point flaws or openings, and can give him an edge in single or small-encounters with enemies. This talent becomes less effective when Marick's attention is stretched too thin over large crowds or chaotic battlefields. While his uncanny Perception is useful for investigation, Tyris lacks the heart or patience for unraveling complex schemes or mysteries and instead focuses on being able to quickly digest data and then apply it to his immediate surroundings and situation.

All This Knowing (General Aspect)

Knowledge is power, and power can do wonderful, terrible things to even the strongest of minds. The collective wealth of information stored in Marick’s memory as a former Voice has bled over into his current role as Exarch. And while his willpower is tempered like a suit of armor, its weight has formed hairline fissures in his otherwise peerless psyche. These “cracks” manifest themselves into small quirks like his obsessive-compulsive tendencies to keep his personal space and affects neat, orderly, and most importantly, symmetrical. Paired with his hyper-attentive awareness of his surroundings at all times, Marick still has a habit of never sitting with his back to a door and tends to instinctively position himself away from windows while always keeping an eye on the exits. This makes it difficult to catch the retired spymaster off-guard, but also inherently suspicious of anyone who has not somehow earned his trust.

Life Before Death (Personality Aspect)

The life of an assassin and spymaster leaves little in the way of friendship, trust, or a family. Yet Marick has, against all odds, found a renewed purpose in each of these tenants, thanks to the birth and growth of his own children, and by getting to work with the next generation of Arconans that have looked beyond his dark past and accepted him as both a mentor and comrade. He is slowly learning to show emotion, to find strength and not weakness from it. And in solidarity with his wife and daughter’s vision for a better future, he has vowed to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and to focus on preserving life, not ending it. While he does try to avoid killing when necessary, he still has no reservations about taking life if it means taking that burden from someone else's conscience.

He will carry that weight.

Darth Amarok, Force Lord (Personality Aspect)

Marick has long been considered an outlier for opposing the diametric philosophies of the Jedi or Sith. He has always viewed the world, and the Living Force itself, in a perpetual shade of gray, always treading the lines between right and wrong, dark or light. Despite this variance, Marick’s unwavering Resolve and clockwork focus has repeatedly allowed him to handle high-stress situations and make split-second decisions under pressure in his continued service to the Brotherhood. For this, the Grand Master has acknowledged him as a Force Lord—further cementing his legacy and standing.

While that same zen-like calmness that has defined his career also aids Marick as both a father and mentor—he still lacks the ability to fully turn it off. This makes it difficult to relax, but he has gotten better as he spends more time with his children.

Fast Enough (Combat Aspect)

A survivor of countless wars, battles, and high-stakes missions, Marick has learned to bide his time, pay attention to details, and focus on defense. His patience and precision are born from hard-won experience. Every movement, from sitting to standing, resting to running, is done with purpose and intent—never taking two steps when one will suffice. By using Amplification to push his body past its normal limits, and knowing precisely when to employ this ability, he can time his strikes and move only as fast as the situation demands. He will even go so far as to suppress his presence in the Force, hoping to create openings and lure his opponents into underestimating him. This strategy, of course, is less effective against those who know of Marick's reputation, title, or deeds, and can leave room for an enemy to escape or simply stay out of range.

Parallel Processing (Combat Aspect)

Marick’s shift from striding through the shadows to embrace his power as an Arcanist has led him to pursue a mastery of Telekinetic Combat. Through diligent daily training, he has honed his body and mind into a synchronous fighting style that seamlessly balances the cognitive strains of the Force with the physical demands of close-quarters combat. His mental discipline allows him to break off pieces of his mind into disparate parts, assigning each a telekinetic task to manage while his body—guided by muscle memory and instinct—directs his fists, blades, or lightsaber. He can maintain this concentration in or out of combat, and the use of telekinetic weaponry improves his ranged aptitude. However, this has forced Tyris to prioritize a wider range of adaptability over specialization in any single martial talent. This path has also deepened his reliance on the Force, leaving him potentially vulnerable when cut off from its power.
