Mikhail Kadnikov is a lean, pale skinned Arkanian with abnormally stark black hair that he keeps swept back into loose points. His eyes, when not hidden by thin black blinders, appear to be solid blue crystal spheres that never quite seem to stop shifting. That same kaleidoscope-like illusion is splayed across the right side of his soft, angular face in a sprawling crystalline scar. The severity of the scarring along his cheek and neck extends down his back, over most of his spine.
Mikhail Kadnikov has seen many scars over his experience as a combat medic for the First Order. The loss he’s seen has scarred him inside, and his recent efforts as a volunteer medic on Selen left him with physical scars to match. The once pulsing red crystal that infected him has been purified into a deeper blue. With the developments the crystals have proven to be useful for, he now fears what would become of him if the more morally ambiguous of his family learned of his condition. This paranoia can seem unfounded to outsiders, but those must not know of the Kadnikovs.
Despite whatever all his other characteristics may convey, Mikhail Kadnikov retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in his body language - his walk, his stance, his expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems he borders upon narcissism, especially judging from how much he enjoys his own company.
Mikhail’s family is far from your average bunch of blood relatives. The Kadnikovs are more concerned with profitability and pedigree than morals. Here, Mikhail struggles to find himself as different from his callous cousins, uncles, and other cutthroat business partners. An offended Kadnikov may only grant you one chance at redemption, before ensuring their pride is healed by blood. Though Mikhail has sworn to protect those under his care as a medic, the cruelty of his bloodline just may make itself known should he be pushed too far.
Mikhail Kadnikov manages to always see the down side to every silver-lining, joyous occasion, or victory. Where some may see a boon, Mikhail Kadnikov will often see the curse accompanying it, just around the corner.Mikhail Kadnikov's constant pessimism can often lead to conflict and the annoyance of those around him, not to mention the dampening of spirits. However, this mindset is not without its benefits, for a pessimist is far more likely to be prepared for the worst and be left unscathed by it - after all, none are more prepared for the worst case scenario than the ones expecting it all along.
Mikhail was promised that the crystal was purified, and shouldn’t be a threat to him anymore. Despite this, he can’t ever quite shake the feeling that he’s being watched. It only takes a few moments of focusing to feel the crystal. As if it was another creature living in the corner of his mind, when he feels threatened by an external source it seems to react on its own. In combat he jerks about unnaturally, as if he was being tugged along by his limbs. The crystal drives him, and can often force him to fight on despite heavy injuries out of pure survival instinct. Though he very well could end up damaging himself worse than if he hadn’t continued fighting.
Mikhail Kadnikov doesn't like to kill people; instead he chooses to injure his opponent until that person is unable to fight back or is otherwise incapacitated.
