Voden's average height and lankiness indicate a man of diminutive strength. However, underneath his paper white skin is tightly wound muscle. Considered handsome by human standards, his short jet black hair, chiseled chin and kind, cerulean eyes do little to reveal years of intense combat and training.
Voden is extremely competitive and strives to become the best at every task he is given. The benefit of this cutthroat approach to life and work is that he will always give 100%, pushing himself to his physical or mental limits to overcome any task. However, Voden’s overzealous ambition makes him insufferable to all but the most patient of companions, making it difficult to make friends while he either proves successful or utterly fails at being the best.
Every legendary story seems to have at least one charming and optimistic character. If that's the case, then it only makes sense that Voden has decided to be that person. After all, if everyone is too busy whining and groaning about the negatives, how will anyone ever reach the positive? True, Voden's constant belief that things will get better can be terribly grating, especially to pessimists or those just level-headed enough to realize when things truly are going downhill, but Voden's constant positive outlook can serve to sometimes spur others to action when it feels like the world just wants them to lay down and die.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Voden's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Voden has a tendency to be secretive and keeps to himself, relying on deception to conceal his motives and intentions. He is a schemer, and plots and plans against others carefully. When dealing with a confrontation, he will try and bluff his way out of trouble, or overcome obstacles with deliberate, covert actions.
Through a mixture of cocksure courage and arrogant swagger, Voden will not back down from a challenge when called out, even if the wiser path is to walk away or let it go. Voden's personality does tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way, which generally puts him into situations that escalate quickly to violence. While he may not be the one to always start a fight, he will always see it through to it’s conclusion. Some have tried to play a challenge off as idle banter, but when Voden initiates or accepts a challenge, he does not hold back.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Voden? Voden doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Voden, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Voden isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Voden won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Voden will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.
