The Unchained have launched a full-scale attack on the Caelus System as a first step towards their vision of a resurrected Sith Empire, and it's up to Taldryan's members to stop them. Both the Taldryan Sector on Chyron and the new Ostara Temple have come under attack by Sith warriors at the heads of columns of red-armoured stormtroopers. Taldryan's military has fully mobilised to meet this new threat. Write a fiction piece using one of the following prompts:

• Chyron: Though the Unchained have focused their efforts on fighting Taldryan, they are equally interested in subjugating the other citizens of the Caelus System. Rian Taldrya, former Consul and head of Taldryan's Community Outreach division, has asked for volunteers to defend bystanders who have taken refuge in Chyron's Taldryan Sector (though not necessarily at the Citadel itself).

• Ostara: Steeped as it is in the Force, the Ostara Temple is a valuable resource for both Taldryan and the Unchained. Waves of transports containing Unchained Dark Jedi and Sith troopers have begun descending on Taldryan's new headquarters. The building is relatively well-reinforced, but the planetary turbolasers are still offline.

• Space: The Unchained have massed a significant naval force on the edge of the Caelus System, including an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer, a Victory-class Star Destroyer, a pair of Vindicator-class heavy cruisers, and assorted smaller capital ships and starfighters (predominantly TIE/fo and TIE/sf models). The Taldryan Navy has scrambled its entire fleet, as described on the Clan's Possessions page. When writing this prompt, you may participate in the battle as a pilot or ship's crew member, or as part of a boarding action against an Unchained ship.

Other competition rules:

• You may write from the perspective of any of your characters (main, alt, or NPC).

• Submissions must be at least 500 words in length, and submitted in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format. Google Docs links will not be accepted.

• This competition will be graded according to the Official VOICE Fiction Grading Rubric.

• Although the Clan Summit tries to work member submissions into the Clan storyline, for both story and Possessions reasons, the Summit reserves the right to not incorporate events like the devastation of a location within the Caelus System or the acquisition or loss of a Taldryan Navy capital ship into the ongoing plot.
