The arrival of a second Unchained strike force in the Orian System presents a much larger problem than either Clan Naga Sadow or Clan Taldryan had anticipated. One group, seemingly unconcerned with proper military doctrine, has made a beeline for Naga Sadow's headquarters at the Temple of Sorrow to capture a powerful artifact held within. The second, after announcing its presence and intent to conquer the system in the name of a new Sith Empire, has struck at various military targets—including the moon of Sepros Minor, the headquarters and primary barracks of the Naga Sadow Warhost Army. The With the Taldryan Armed Forces' arrival, battles have broken out across the Orian System as the two Clans rush to deflect the Unchained assault.

Like other "combat writing" competitions, this competition will focus on a confrontation between your chosen character and a representative of the Unchained forces assaulting the Orian System. Your opponent must be one of the five following NPCs:

• Salomon Kerkis (Chagrian Male, Equite Juggernaut), located on Sepros
• Lantha Kiminn (Zabrak Female, Journeyman Hunter), located on Sepros
• [Korlen Shif (Rattataki Male, Journeyman/Equite Pilot)csShif, located in orbit (space battle)
• Grom Tarwin (Grom Tarwen (Falleen Male, Journeyman Marauder), located on Gamuslag/Sepros Major

Members may write from the perspective of their main character or alt character. Snapshots for any member-owned characters used must be attached to the submission. If writing the space combat prompt with Korlin Shif, members may use either a starship included in their loadout, or any other starship to which they would reasonably have access (keeping in mind that the focus of the event is one-on-one combat).

Submissions must be a minimum of 500 words, and uploaded in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format. Google Docs links will not be accepted as submissions. Grading will be done according to the Official VOICE Fiction Grading Rubric, with extra emphasis on the Realism portion of the rubric. The top three placements will be awarded second-level Crescents, and will contribute points to overall event placement as described on the main Unchained Malady event page. Clusters of Ice will be awarded per the Voice Competition Approval Guidelines.
