Zenon walked into the dark antechamber of the laboratories and sighed. He hated this place, the smell the stink, the disused body parts; both non-sentient and sentient. He turned his attention to the door before him and stood too as the doors before him slipped open and the dark hooded figure off his master stepped from the room. The stench of something followed the Arkanian and Zenon had to wrinkle his nose before he openly gagged and he bowed his head to the Equite.

Deimos took in the young man before him, a sense of internal pride that the man had come so far in such a short time and Deimos knew this man would succeed where many others have failed in the past.

“Ahh Zenon, welcome. As you know there comes a time in every young man’s life tha…” he stared hard at his student as Zenon’s face turned.

“What’s wrong with you? Oh no no it’s not that talk young one don’t be foolish.” He walked past the young man taking him by the shoulder and guiding him along the corridor and up to the practise rooms of the Port.

As they entered the torches flickered into life and they were bathed in a flickering luminescence of unnatural light. The elder Dark Jedi moved to the other side of the room and towards a covered cage, Zenon followed the man and his eyes became transfixed on the covering.

The Arkanian turned to his student as the cover gave a brief flutter and something from within growled.

“As you are aware in every young man’s life within the brotherhood their comes a time when he either dies or lives to become something great, I have seen it within you that you will succeed beyond my expectations and those of my superiors. It is for that reason I have been granted leave to offer you a final test to suit your eligibility.” He looked to his right and up and nodded as figures entered the room from the upper floor and settled themselves in the rooms viewing box.

“Quaestor, Aedile I deem this man fit and ready for his trial. Today shall be his final day in one way another. Be it as a Jedi Hunter or be it as his entire existence!” He turned back to Zenon and placed his hand on the covering of the cage ripping it to the side.

Within the cage stood something barely sentient, it had things in places it shouldn’t off and more teeth than the young Dark Jedi could count. It looked up at him and growled rattling the cage bars as it yearned to get out of its confinement. Zenon stood his ground and Deimos’s instantly filled with pride as he took in his student’s posture. From somewhere to the side a door opened and a rattling of metal on ground was heard as something rolled across the floor and knocked into the front of the cage with a soft clank. As Zenon’s eyes trailed down to the ground he noticed what appeared to be the hilt of a training sabre and he looked back up to his master in confusion.

“Master what is this?” He asked Deimos with confusion evident in his voice.

“As you know I am not the greatest of combatants and you would prove nothing by duelling me in single combat. So I was granted leave by the House summit to offer you a little different test. This creature was once a man like you, in fact one of the One Sith we managed to take prisoner. I was granted leave to test some theories out on the man, and you can see the result.” He sighed and turned to the creature walking to the cage and shaking his head in a form of mad sympathy. “Such a shame in truth as this one could have had such promise. None the less.” He flicked his wrist and the lock on the door slid off and the door to the cage opened. The creature within the cage moved to the now open door and moved itself out and into the open room, Zenon tracked it as it bent down and with some primal instinct picked up the sabre on the floor and ignited it. Doing this he missed his master join the other’s up on the viewing platform but he heard his voice well enough.

“Jedi Hunter Zenon it is with great honour and privilege that I raise you to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. Survive this and you will be allowed to keep the rank. Now fight as if your life depends on it, because it may well do!”

I am over the moon and honestly full of pride to see my first students obtain the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. As it stands I haven’t seen someone work as hard as Zenon within the brotherhood especially since his real life takes so much out of him, I mean all I see on Facebook is Chemistry this and Chemistry that so he’s either not doing his homework or he works like a tyrant to get things done. I know full well it’s the second and thus it’s my privileged to have worked with such a fine gentleman in acquiring this rank and reaching the end of the Journeyman path. Congratulations my friend.

BTL of Shadow Gate

The time has come for Zenon to be elevated to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. Over the past few weeks, he has worked hard towards the requirements that have been asked of him.

First of all, he has obtained 2 merit awards, this being a pair of Dark Crosses awarded for activity within Clan Arcona. He has also been awarded no less than 7 competition awards, consisting of 2 Sapphire, 1 Emerald, 2 Topaz and 2 Quartz Crescents.

His activity in competitions has been excellent, with Zenon taking part in 15 since joining. These have included: It's What Gets the People Goin!, Halloween Invitations!, Acrononymous, Shadow Scene, Operation: Shadow Knife, Monthly Mobile Gaming: Turkey Blast Reloaded, Bug on a Wire, Satama Christmas, Desert Island Briefs, Thoughts on the summit, Fiction Event, Crusadeology, Monkey Kick Off, Monthly Mobile Gaming: Racing Santa and Monthly Mobile Gaming: Hungry Santa.

In addition, Zenon has shown at least a basic readiness for leadership, having passed both Leadership Shadow Academy exams, and organising two competitions, Zenon of the 21st Century and Watchword. Further Shadow Academy activity includes the Dark Maven in Philosophy.

Fictionally, Zenon has excelled too, writing a 1,500 piece of fiction, as well as creating his character's Wiki article and expanding it to a point that it can be deemed as a quality article.

Finally, he has created a number of images for the Port Ol'Val Wiki article at the request of the summit, thereby completing a summit task.

Rollmaster of Clan Arcona

It seems like just yesterday Zenon joined us in Arcona, and already here he is, taking the last step on the path of the journeyman. Such a rampant rise through the ranks is something to be lauded. Zenon has been a presence in Arcona since he joined, always on IRC, in the email chains, and bashing away at the Shadow Academy with an enviable fervour. He's also given back to his House, whipping up some graphics for use in the wiki page in Port Ol'Val, giving some flavour to the base of Qel-Droma. For giving so much to our House and Clan, I would be honoured to recommend Zenon for promotion to Dark Jedi Knight.
