Primary reason

Antar Locke has been a blessing in disguise. Before joining me as a leader within Nighthawk, Antar made sure it was known that he is here to help out, no matter what is needed. This has come to be shown in the most recent Nighthawk reports, as well as several before it, with the gathering of medals and Shadow Academy courses as well as a new section titled ‘Words from the Commander’ where he has detailed competitions of note for the Nighthawk crew to participate in. Now that he is Battleteam Sergeant of Nighthawk, he continues to keep a six tab activity tracker filled with information up to date so we know when it is best to give praise to the membership.

Leadership aside, Antar is a powerful storm of activity. Since his last merit, he has participated in 14 competitions and completed an astounding 25 Shadow Academy courses and even snagged 2 Mavens and a Savant degree. With the results of Operation: Figureheads now released, Antar placed 11th individually having participated in 5 of the 11 events, taking first place in the Week 2 flash game. Nighthawk has had three official competitions released to which Antar has placed either first or second in all three, which shows his dedication for the crew and the Battleteam itself. To prove such activity, Antar has collected one Crescent with Amethyst Star, two Crescents with Emerald Star, three Crescents with Topaz Star, 21 Clusters of Fire and 8 Clusters of Ice. His dedication to have a wide spread resume of activity is admirable and shows everyone that you can accomplish anything in the DJB.

All in all, Antar is a member others should strive to be like. His constant activity, IRC presence and willingness to help shines brightly on him, to which I am proud to award him his first Steel Cross. Congratulations, Antar. You make Nighthawk and myself proud.

~Arcia Cortel, Captain of the Nighthawk

I am honoured to be recommending Antar for this Steel Cross. Since joining the Clan and Brotherhood he has been an active and driven individual striving not only to better himself inside the club but being willing to help those around him. He has continued to grow and has recently stepped up to the role of Battle Team Sergeant.

Antar has been steadily active and shown interest in not only the Battleteam he is currently part of but the House as well. Since joining Galeres I have always seen things coming from him, emails. competitions, talk anything that is going on Antar will try his best to get involved in and show his opinion on matters. His activity and help has continued to see that Nighthawk is a very active and dedicated team inside of the House. Able to get stuck in and involved with anything that is given to them and they always strive to perform their best in anything they do.

Congratulations on this Steel Cross Antar, your hard work towards the House, Clan and Battleteam has been outstanding. I hope you continue the hard work and I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.

Additional reasons

Antar Locke. A name that precedes every painfully (for my fingers, anyway) long list of Shadow Academy courses completed in every one of my reports since his joining. And, unfortunately for said fingers, it never stops there. Antar, just in the time since his last reward, has completed over twenty-five Shadow Academy courses, gained a Dark Maven in Lore and in Galactic History, and a Savant in Writing and Philosophy, all of which with stellar grading percentages and none of which are simple feats.

Besides his career as a professional bookworm, he has also taken on the infamous mantel of leadership within his House, serving as Nighthawk’s Battleteam Sergeant, which Esca can detail for you. He has also participated in all of our recent Clan and House events, even placing in our newly completed Operation: Figureheads competition before going on to contribute to the ongoing Galeres Run-On, in addition to the total of fourteen competitions he’s participated in with several top-three placements. And all that while raising daughters to boot. (Geez!)

I can’t talk enough about Antar, but this will have to wrap up sometime. Congrats on the Steel Cross, my friend. Well done and well earned.
