Primary reason

The Knighting of a member signifies that they have completed their education as a member of the Brotherhood; that they are ready to participate as a full member - not unlike a diploma, a completion of one's essential education. Thus, the Equite Ranks are more akin to degrees, the accomplishments that a member has to work harder for, that a member will use to define their career in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. They are based not on completion, or lessons, but on effort and personal growth.

And so we come to Rhiann Baenre.

Before Knighthood, Rhiann was the sort of member you would watch, knowing their future would hold great things. She was the type of member essentially tailor-made to fit into a leadership role, and once given one, she distinguished herself as a rock for our Journeymen in a storm. Under her guidance, our Journeymen have seen promotions, our Battleteams have become more organized and more coordinated, and our Summit has functioned at a higher level.

Since her Knighting, which took place on March 11, 2014, she has truly distinguished herself as a top-tier gamer of the Brotherhood. In that time, eight months and twelve days as of the writing of this recommendation, she has earned a staggering seven-hundred and eighty one Clusters of Fire - more than most members ever earn, by magnitudes. She has also added three Pendants of Blood to her already impressive resume, proving she is here to do more than just game - she is here to win, and will continue to do so as an Equite.

As a competitor in Brotherhood competitions, she has garnered an impressive stock of Crescents for her placements. To date since her Knighting, as of this recommendation, she has earned two Topaz Crescents, five Emerald Crescents, six Sapphire Crescents, two Amethyst Crescents, one Ruby Crescent, and one Diamond Crescent - awards that represent every tier of competition in the club.

This alone would show that she already competes at an Equite level on its own, though her participation in the Fading Light ACC Tournament reinforces that claim by adding three Clusters of Ice and a Seal of the Crusader to her accomplishments after Knighthood. This shows that not only is she willing to compete with the entire Brotherhood, but that she is ready to step up her game in competitive writing, an area far outside of her gaming roots. This willingness to diversify and accept new challenges speaks not only of an Equite-level member, but of a leader.

Speaking of Leadership, and of diversity, Rhiann has improved her resume not only by serving well as Odan-Urr's Rollmaster. She also assumed the position of Magistrate to the Herald on June 12, 2014. Since then, she has worked hard to aid the Herald with many of the club's graphical needs, displaying yet another facet of her many talents in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Rhiann's efforts have earned her recognition of a higher sort before; on August 13, 2014, she was awarded a Steel Cross for her consistent months of activity within Odan-Urr. This demonstrates that this is not some surge of activity for Rhiann, or some spike of intensity for an award or promotion - she has demonstrated, before and after this merit award, that her insane level of accomplishment is par for the course. On top of that, she has been an active, pleasant, and constructive voice within the Summit, on the Googlegroup, and on IRC as one of our most active members. She has become one of Odan-Urr's brightest stars, no doubt destined to one day redefine the Brotherhood itself if she so chooses.

In closing, Rhiann Baenre has already earned her place among the Equites. It's past time we recognized her for it. Congratulations, Rhiann - you've set a strong example for us all.

Additional reasons

I would like to nominate Knight Rhiann Baenre for elevation to Equite 1. During my time in HOU, Rhiann has been a voice of calm reason among the House. Shortly after I arrived there was a call for the position of Rollmaster to be filled. From experience, I know being the EM is a hard job. Your work is often dismissed by those you have to work with (Entry level Journeyman) and due to the various duties it is often overlooked as a "Leadership" position.

I can honestly say that Rhiann has taken this job and ran with it. She has formulated several googledocs that assist the remaining Summit members with keeping up with these new members. In addition to making a document that helps us decide if a member needs to be awarded with medals or if the time is right, a promotion. She also makes it a point to email the House about every new member (straight out of the SA, or Rogues) welcoming them. She also helps bring recognition to those who have been awarded with medals or promotions, by notifying the House of their accomplishment.

Since her last promotion she has ran the Rollmaster position with much more confidence and work than I would have thought possible for someone who has only been in the club for under a year. She has also netted herself a Steel Cross for her work, as well as a multitude of Clusters of Fire, and PoB's. To top it off, she recently won the DJB-wide Pazaak tournament, which is no easy feat in itself! Lastly she was the top submitter and winner in our House wide event, Affliction.

Rhi is just in the beginning stages of a brilliant DJB career. With all of this said, Congrats Rhiann, youve more than earned your spot in the Guardian Order!

It brings me the greatest pleasure to be writing a recommendation for Rhiann. She is an incredibly hard-working member that has done some incredible work for both Odan-Urr and for the Herald staff. I'll let the guys in HOU talk about her work and activity in the House, but I can certainly speak for the Herald staff on behalf of Socks. Since her official appointment to Magistrate on June 13th (and a little bit before that, as we trained her on warbanners), she's completed over forty warbanners - that is ten banners minimum a month, which is a hugely staggering amount of work considering she did some of these while driving across an entire country. She has also had a hand in a couple of major projects, most directly creating a ribbon for the Dark Crusade ribbon cases and providing on the spot rolling feedback for myself at every stage of the project. Her work is a critical aspect of the continuing graphical standards of the Brotherhood and in this she is an invaluable member of the team. We on the Herald staff would like to say thank you to Rhiann with this token of our esteem.

I won't lie when I say I couldn't be prouder of Rhi. She's come a long way since joining - she's gone from a scared new member with only a little Star Wars knowledge to a fully-fledged Equite in her own right. She makes my days in this club a pleasure and I look forward to seeing what she does as Rollmaster. My experience on HOU's Summit has shown me that she is a member with revolutionary ideas for one of the largest and most difficult Rollmaster positions in the club, pushing herself constantly to work hard and keep the position fresh while doing the difficult job of driving a huge group of Journeymen forward through the difficult but enjoyable time that is the early ranks. She also has some incredible talent, as displayed when she claimed victory in my Affliction event, a feat of which I am still ecstatic about. As a Herald staffer she has incredible artistic talent and her constant contributions and activity make serving alongside her a pleasure. I still consider my apprentice, but now she's also part of the circle of equals. This promotion is well deserved and I would like to join HOU's Summit in congratulating her on this massive achievement.

Congrats, Rhi. You've earned this. I couldn't be any prouder of you.
