Primary reason

It’s been almost a year in change since I had a talk with the Grand Master when looking over candidates for field promotions at the end of the Dark Crusade. First on that list was one of our most active members and leaders, Ernordeth. Most would have been content to sit on their laurels after receiving that honor, but Erno clearly had other plans to continue to rock the DB (not unlike a hurricane). Sadly, real life has a way of sucker-punching us, and as most know he unfortunately had to step down from leadership for a time.

Stepping down in April, it wasn’t long before Ernordeth returned, albeit slowly at first. Since July when he signed on to help Solari with the recruitment team, he has been making a strong showing of returning to prime form.

Despite not holding a leadership position, Ernordeth is a constant presence on IRC and for House Qel-Droma and Arcona, engaging with members on a daily basis and offering his services wherever needed. He is the type of member who can lead without a title, and inspire those around him to work harder for the sake of the team. Beyond that, Ernordeth has held down his position as Magistrate to the Fist for the past year. He received the first of his two Grand Cross’ for his efforts, but never let that slow him down or prevent him from keeping up with his duties of creating and running gaming events for the Brotherhood. He earned a second Grand Cross (count’em!) for his loyalty and service to Clan Arcona as a Quaestor and Leader, has now collected two Seals of Loyalty, and sports a wide spread of clusters and crescents to show for his continued activity since his last promotion. It’s also easy to forget that he earned a Steel Cross for serving with me as an inaugural judge for the ACC Beta--one of the key people early on who helped test the mechanics.

Ernor continues to assist with the Recruitment and Social media side of the club while keeping up with the day-to-day competitions, including a stellar 5/5 finish in Fading Light: Part 3.

When you’ve earned that many awards over the course of the year, and looking at everything else attached to his dossier of the last year, there really is only one thing left to be done. That is for him to take his career to the next level as an Equite 2. For all his accomplishments, this promotion is a bit overdue. Regardless, thank you for sticking with us even when things got rough for you in real life, Ernor. You’re the example for which any member of the Brotherhood should strive, and a spiritual leader for all of Arcona. Congratulations buddy, keep up the good work!

Additional reasons

Months ago, I awarded Ernordeth a Grand Cross for his fantastic contributions to the Fist Staff over the course of his first eight months. I knew it wouldn't be long before there would be another recommendation in the works for the hard charging Sith Warrior, and I'm glad to be adding my voice to it today.

When it comes to energetic staffers it’s hard to top Ernor. He not only attacks projects that I've asked him to work on, but comes up with ideas on ways to improve Gaming for members on the Club on his own. The recent Destiny poll all started as a brainchild of Ernor, and a few short minutes after I told him I loved the idea I had an email with a link to a poll complete with questions. That's what I love to see, ideas and then execution on them.

Since his last promotion Ernor's run at least eight monthly gaming events. We recently ran a Mobile Event which turned out to only be open to Android Users, Ernor jumped right at it and fired off a Apple App event to even the playing field. He's worked on two published Shadow Academy Courses which became part of the Gaming Journeyman Hall, and has returned asking for more courses to put together as well to benefit our Clubs gamers. Ernor took it upon himself to create the Destiny CF Tables, and then got to deal with my incessant questions about them. After we had all aligned on values and he had run more timed missions than he is probably willing to admit Ernor went on to set the tables up by coding them for our Wiki and placing them into a Google Document for us to all access on launch day. This made the go-live for the system brilliantly simple, as it was just a matter of cut and paste into our wiki for the pages that had been noted in the prepared Google Doc.

Ernor's activities span the breadth of the Club, and his attitude is fantastic. I'm happy to have him as a Magistrate on the Fist Staff and I'm even happier to be able to add my support to his promotion to Sith Battlemaster.

Congratulations Ernordeth! Keep up the good work!

I remember stumbling into this club in mid-December without really understanding what I was getting into, and if I'm honest, I initially believed I'd only be around a week or so. The first handful of prominent and helpful members in Arcona that I came across as I plugged through the Journeyman ranks changed that, and Ernordeth was one of the biggest names in that group.

Admittedly, the only thing I really have place to offer is my thoughts regarding his personal relations to new members as opposed to his larger contributions, but we all know that every level of interaction is important.

Any time I'd find my way onto IRC and embraced the madness that ensued, you could be sure that Ernordeth was in it and helping to welcome anyone that wasn't yet recognized. Whenever I'd inevitably bring up the subject of CS (or, God help you, the finer points of lightsabers) Ernor was in on the discussion, and it wasn't uncommon to have another window open just for him when he decided to humor my favored topics more personally. He was definitely strong leadership for HQD, and well known and loved.

So I suppose it's no surprise that his accident came as a nasty shock to the whole of Arcona, and his return well received. As to be expected, our favorite Sith is already back with a vengeance, taking charge in various ways and places. He sets up competitions with ease, and is a beacon of activity, two things I admire a great deal.

He's even found a new home in my ramshackle Battleteam, and enjoys the fictional company of a Magnaguard. I'm glad to have a mentor so close at hand, and I know as well as anyone that he's deserving of the distinction of rising further in the Equite ranks. I've talked his ear off about custom sabers on many occasions, and I for one am itching to see what he'll do with the one he's earned several times over.

Enjoy it Ernor, and keep on rising, it's fun to watch!

Ernordeth came to Arcona as a much-heralded leader who had re-energized Tarentum's Summit, and I had high hopes that he would be able to do the same in Qel-Droma. He didn't disappoint. Ernor has been a constant presence in Arcona, a friendly and always helpful individual that perfectly fits the type of culture that we pride ourselves on.

He's one of the most versatile leaders I've seen in my career, having done extraordinary work at the Quaestor level and assisting other leaders at every level beneath it. He's the kind of utility player that you can always rely on, who has had his fingers on every major project that we've completed in the past nine months. In short, he's every Summit's dream -- a flexible, selfless contributor in all arenas.

Congratulations, Ernor -- the future's bright.

Proconsul of Clan Arcona

Legorii Arconae, 2014-11-15 18:45:21 UTC

There’s a buzzword that gets thrown around when discussing Equite promotions, impact, whether or not a member has made a lasting impact in their unit and the Brotherhood. A cursory glance at Ernodeth’s dossier or a quick chat with anyone in Arcona will show you that Erno has certainly made a positive impact, not just on Qel-Droma or Arcona but the Brotherhood as a whole. He already demonstrates the values and work ethic of an Elder and I can think of few members more deserving of an elevation within the Equite ranks.

As an avid gamer, I saw Erno’s touch long before coming to Arcona as he had a hand in organizing almost every FIST event. His quiet work behind the scenes approving or providing feedback on untold numbers of activity submissions with lighting speed has spoiled the gaming community, we’ve gotten accustomed to his almost inhuman dedication. That’s just what I was able to see, Erno is the type of member who quietly and steadfastly labors on projects behind the scenes without fanfare or complaining.

One of the first things I noticed coming to the Qel-Droma summit from outside the Clan was Erno’s presence in the House. Not content to sit back and just be a House member, he continues to lead from the front and rally the troops. He led the charge in Fading Light: Nicht Ka, participating in 5/5 events and encouraging others to do the same. He bleeds Qel-Droma and his love for the house is infectious. Whenever we do something he’s our biggest cheerleader, often the first to comment or reply to reports or communication. He demonstrates the rare ability to lead while providing 100% support to the to sitting summit. I wish I could clone him. Any unit would be lucky to have the presence and dedication of a member like Erno.

On behalf of all Qel-Dromans past, present and future, thank you Erno for everything you do and congratulations on Sith Battlemaster. You embody what it means to be an Equite.

  • OT Turel Sorenn, Aedile, House Qel-Droma

Champion Rajhin Cindertail, 2014-11-15 18:46:04 UTC

Ernor came to Qel-Droma as a new face, a fresh leader to give Qel-Droma new voice from someone with a different viewpoint. His ideas and actions not only invigorated Qel-Droma, but have had a lasting impact to this day. He reached out to members, made them feel part of the decision making process and ensured all decisions were for their good, and to shape the club in a way that benefitted them. I had the honour to work with Ernor as his Aedile. He taught me how to be an approachable leader that worked for their members, ensuring they were engaged, rewarded for service, and enjoyed their time here. The impact he made, and still makes today, even out of his summit role, is monumental, and cannot be ignored.

Ernor has always made sure to be a role model, leading from the front as Quaestor, and being a shining example, a pillar of activity, when a member of the House. He’s one of our most prolific members in terms of the Dark Crusade and Fading light, ensuring Arcona acquitted itself well in the events. Not content to live for Crusades,Ernor is a strong presence in communicating with members, happy and eager to help his fellow Brotherhood members.

All of this while also working for the FIST to bring out a stream of regular competitions that grab members and are enjoyed by all who participate. This kind of work is the lifeblood of the brotherhood, a way to keep members engaged and wanting more, to come back and enjoy their time. Ernor can definitely say he had a hand in all of that.

He doesn’t go around parading his work, he lets it speak for itself, and it never fails to speak well. Congratulations, Ernor, not just from me, but from all of the members of the Brotherhood you have made an impact on.
