Edgar follows his own path. He comes from a troubled past with a Bounty Hunter Father and a Sith Uncle, but balanced that with memories of his loving and very caring mother who he remember fondly of her compassion and willingness to help anyone in need. So for all of Edgar anger and single minded focus to get the job done at any cost he is tempered by the memories of his mother and the death bed promise he made to her to always protect the helpless and show compassion to those in need.

This of course leads to some internal struggles but all in all if he had to blow up a city block to kill his target he would to save 1000's of other lives.
