There is only one word to describe Kelly Mendes and her contributions to House Karness Muur and Clan Plagueis over the last three months: Staggering. She held the reins of our Apostles of Syn Battleteam until her recent appointment to Aedile, helping mentor our newly joined members. She made sure that her communication with her charges was more personal, sending in weekly check-in emails to each of her members individually, helping them through their promotion requirements and directing them toward competitions and other activities. Kelly’s leadership helped guide Tharess Crestar to his Hunter promotion, Nash Himura to the rank of Neophyte, and Toby Matterburn from newly-joined Apprentice all the way to Courier. Her involvement and communication with her charges over that time were integral in shepherding these new members through their early days and making sure they could become engaged by the Brotherhood. Additionally, she has taken it upon herself to help guide her replacement, Athrun Zala, even after her move to House Ajunta Pall as Aedile, providing him with coaching and guidance as to how best engage with her former charges.

Over the course of our recently completed Restoration: Ascendant feud event, Kelly participated in all eleven possible competitions, earning second place in the team Battleplan event. More important than simply her placement in battleplan, however, was her help in guiding the entry when the original team leader had to bow out due to his schedule. Her participation netted 101 total points and left her her only two points behind the tenth place overall finisher. Without her individual accomplishments, taken along with her stellar leadership work, the results of the event would have been much different since Kelly was a major part of generating Karness Muur’s absolutely stellar participation ratio.

Overall, since her promotion Kelly has participated in 21 total events while earning three competition crescents (one each of ruby, amethyst, and sapphire) and accumulated seven Clusters of Ice. Through gaming she has accumulated 131 clusters of fire and 10 Clusters of Earth, and with that activity earned two Pendants of Blood. She has also passed eighteen Shadow Academy courses (10 in the Novitate Hall, 8 elsewhere) and earned a single Pundit and Maven degree respectively. Her continued presence, leadership activity, zealous nature to succeed, and remarkable overall activity level show her to be very deserving of this award.
