I am honoured to be recommending Marcus for his elevation to the rank of Equite One. It takes determination, patience and is something every Journeyman strives for. It is my pleasure to see our own Clan Rollmaster ready to make the next step in his Brotherhood career. He has been a stable and active part of the Clan, a pillar of example for the newer members, always willing to help and get involved in everything.
Since his last elevation, Marcus has been an integral part of training and teaching the newer members of the Clan. He has recreated the Master and Student form, allowing easier access to information making for stronger pairings to take place. This in turn has helped us keep up a high level of activity in Clan Naga Sadow, and developing it into an active unit. Constantly organizing and running competitions, providing seventeen competitions for members to get involved in. Marcus constantly is looking for new members to join the Brotherhood, always on a recruitment drive and for his hard work he has managed to obtain four Seals of Indoctrination, with more sure to come in the future.
Marcus is one of the true members in the Brotherhood that takes leading by example to a serious extreme, he has managed to participate in thirty competitions. Putting his time and effort into each entry he submits he has managed to wrack up an impressive four Crescents with Amethyst Star, four Crescents with Sapphire Star, five Crescents with Emerald Star and a Crescent with Topaz Star. As well as taking interest in competitions, Marcus continues to expand his knowledge of the Brotherhood by focusing his efforts inside of the Shadow Academy, earning himself four degrees as well as completing twenty-one exams.
Marcus is always trying his hand in new things, from writing fictions, creating new SA exams and marking them and interacting with members on Telegram. I’m being serious, the guy doesn't stop typing and keeps making my phone blow up like crazy and getting a lot of response from members. But what stands out is his willingness to help members in gaming, this can be from logging into ToR and just helping them level their characters, to going toe to toe with them on the tier one gaming systems. His hard work and effort has seen him earning two Pendants of Blood, fifty Clusters of Fire and eleven Clusters of Ice.
Since joining Clan Naga Sadow he has continued to show progress, stepping up into the role of Battleteam Leader for three months. He continued to expand his experience and build up relations with members of Devil’s Shroud. Bringing the team into fictional update as well as providing members reports to help them develop their team's identity. From here Marcus strived further to help members, assuming the mantle of Clan Rollmaster these last four months, helping new members. Locke will go into more detail about these facts. For his time and hard work he managed to get one Steel Cross, one Anteian Cross and one Dark Cross.
Though Marcus played the role of traitor in our Clan’s fictional development, he is one of the most dedicated and proactive leaders I have seen in the position. Always aiming to achieve more and continuing to look at ways to improve not only the Clan, but the Club, he shines out as what a Rollmaster should be. I have had the privilege of working along side him since he joined, and he never asks for anything and expects nothing but gives everything. I am honoured to be elevating him to the Equite ranks, he has stepped out from Journeymen with his hard work. Congratulations on your elevation, Marcus you’ve earned this. I look forward to working with you in the future my friend.

Marcus has been a godsend to Naga Sadow. He returned to us after a period of absence in the rogues after I noticed he was doing SA exams. After encouraging him to return to the Clan, Marcus went into overdrive and sped his way through the ranks to DJK and recruited several of our extremely active and productive Journeymen.
Having spent almost seven years in the Clan, I’ve seen many members come and go, leaders step up and burn out. Marcus is one of those I see as going all the way, encouraging others and motivating them when they’re down. He loves his members, his clan mates and they love him in return. He brought us many of our new members, such as Bentre and Tasha who have impacted Naga Sadow also. Marcus is someone I can rely on to help me in my harebrained schemes, someone I can use as a sounding board for my crazier ideas for fictional development. He sacrifices his time and effort, even his own character to bring ideas to life.
Our Rollmaster is sublime, he’s one of a kind and I’m so glad that he decided to give the Brotherhood and Naga Sadow another go. We certainly wouldn’t be the same without him and I’m pleased to see him take on the mantle of Professor in the Shadow Academy, where he looks after the busiest department, the CORE department. Marcus is what we look for in a leader, in a member and in a friend. He is part of the team and part of a bright future for Naga Sadow. I can only hope that I can keep up with him in his journey.
Congratulations, Marcus, on your promotion to Sith Warrior. You’re the man of the hour and I hope you enjoy it. I’m super proud of you, my little grand student is all grown up. Keep on rocking, buddy.

Well, Marcus the Betrayer... What is there to say here? Other than that this guy is an absolute beast!
It was great to see him come back to the clan after having gone Rogue, something I can personally relate to. Once he did, he hit the ground running and that is the most understated thing I have ever written. I can confidently say that I am not at all worried about our Journeymen. Having been in the role before transitioning to Quaestor, I know that Marcus was ready to take up the mantle of Rollmaster.
He has shown a rare drive in hunting for members that were lost to the rogues, prompting for them to return. On top of that, he is directly responsible for recruiting many of our most active current members. That is absolutely fantastic to see, and brought a life to the Clan that has been long missing. It is obvious that he loves his clan, and the sentiment is shared. He isn't afraid to come to me with questions or concerns, and he is a constant voice in my metaphorical ear when it comes to running my House and being part of the Clan Summit itself.
Rollmaster was never enough for his ambition, and that was a great thing to see. When Marcus took up the position of Professor within the Shadow Academy I wasn't even surprised. Then I saw he took up the CORE department and then, admittedly, I was a bit surprised and impressed. Not only does he handle his newfound position with a zealot's joy, but he has pushed for all our members to take them and prides himself on his turn around time. The standards he holds himself to are the very same ones he expects of others, and so many refuse to let him down in that regard.
Because of this legacy he has built for himself, this lasting impression that he has worked so hard to form in such a short time, I am privelaged to attach my name to his recommendation for promotion. Congratulations on breaking into the Equite ranks, Marcus Kiriyu, and I look forward to when you are knocking on the door to Elder.

Marcus took over the Department of CORE Studies with a very important and demanding mission: scrap everything and start fresh on a strict timeline. He took to the task immediately, reviewing the old COREs for still-relevant information, researching Wookieepedia and other sources, and building a small team to help him. He never missed a deadline, nor did he ever express doubt that it could be done. He simply did it. Very few people in the history of the Brotherhood have successfully put out multiple new courses in a single month. It's a rare feat, and I think that anyone who can accomplish it deserves recognition. Add to that the 156 courses he has graded since joining the staff in September, and he has ably handled one of the toughest workloads in the Shadow academy.
Thank you for your hard work, Marcus, and congratulations.

Marcus serves as an integral part of the Naga Sadow Summit as our Rollmaster, and a key member of the clan in general. He has been our Clan Rollmaster for the past four months, and was a Battleteam leader for two before that.
I'm going to focus on his time as Rollmaster because this is what I have the most experience with personally, but I know that other recs, including the primary, will give an overall picture of just how active Marcus is in the club. I'd like to start with the Steel Cross that Marcus earned on the 16th of September this year. This highlights that, as Rollmaster, Marcus revamped the Master-Student program for CNS. He created a new form to help students match with masters who were more in line with their interests. He also began to more actively keep tabs on newer members and stay in contact with them to get them involved.
This award also discusses one other major thing, though. While Rollmaster, Marcus helped us run the event Awakenings. This was his first time running one for the DJB, but he still did an excellent job and his fair share of the work. As noted in the above award, he judged 76,528 words of fiction for the event. He also editted and helped plan the official fiction, which came out to 11,039 words. It's further of note that Marcus volunteered to help run this competition, and he fit a pivotal role in it. Marcus represented a newer generation of members, and it was his charisma and influence on them that had a hand in leading to his team in the event coming in first place, championed by members who were recruited by Marcus or who he has helped rise through the Journeymen ranks, including such names as Bentre and Tasha.
This brings me to the next important fact. Just in the time since his last promotion, Marcus has four Scrolls of Indoctrination. He has personally recruited solid members to the club, as well as maintaining our existing roster and keeping them up to date and as involved as possible. He has also had one Scroll of the Master in this time. This all indicates that, in addition to just being Rollmaster, Marcus has set an example of what is expected of masters in the DJB by raising his own apprentice, and shown what other members can do to help the club grow by personally recruiting people into the club.
Rollmaster is often a position whose purpose is left vague, but Marcus has solidified it as an essential part of Summit. He is the first point of contact for all new members. He quickly and efficiently places them in Houses, based on how those Houses are doing journeyman-wise. He is quick to reach out to each member who is in danger of going rogue, using a personalized message rather than a standard one. He is frequently a key-component of major Summit discussions, and he is always on hand to help out. One recent example is when we were tasked with choosing members to represent CNS in the upcoming ACC Invitational. On short notice, Marcus created a poll for nominations and helped me design exactly how to do it. He also pre-emptively created another poll for votes. At the same time, Marcus assisted me in determining how to have a discussion on Paths with the clan, and also created another poll for that.
I've mentioned the 70% participation rate from the time of the past unit review in recommendations before, and I'll say it again here. As Rollmaster, I have no doubt that Marcus has been an essential part of that number, and of helping us to have a prospering, successful clan.
For the above reasons, I would like to add my recommendation for his promotion. Congrats, Marcus!
