Primary reason

Edgar Drachen is a rare combination of both exceptionally active member and natural leader that makes him a force to be reckoned with. I do not exaggerate in the least when I say he has had a demonstrable and positive impact on the Clan. His individual numbers by themselves are staggering but what really sets him apart is his infectious spirit that other members can’t help but rally to. To provide some concrete examples, he was the only member to have a perfect 13 of 13 participation in the Odan-Urr Clan event “Rise of the Force Ascendant” and he rallied the battleteam he was in at the time to have the highest participation ratio of any subunit in the Clan by a significant margin. He also came in second in the entire club for the Fourth Quarter 2015 GMRG ranking, which is impressive in and of itself but what is more impressive is how he rallied our gamers to increase their own activity which lead to four other COU members in the hunt for the GMRG rankings this quarter (As of right now five of the top eleven members of the current leaderboard are COU). Those are just two examples of how his impressive numbers only tell part of the story, Odan-Urr would not be the same place it is today without him.

Others will cover his impressive individual accomplishments in greater detail but the fact he has participated in 139 competitions and secured top three placements in 43 of those in the five months since his last promotion is simply phenomenal. Edgar is easily in the highest tier of active members in the entire club. He has also (co)organized 25 competitions and was instrumental in helping me organize and promote the Life Day Games, a nineteen competition clan gaming event for the holiday season. Again, while others will cover this topic I would be remiss if I did not mention Edgar’s role as a direct mentor, recruiting one member and guiding two to JM4 (the rank formerly known as Knight :P) since his last promotion. He not only aggressively recruits but personally invests in those he brings into the Clan, one of which is signing this recommendation as an Aedile.

There can be no doubt that Edgar is worthy of advancement within the Equite ranks. Congratulations my friend, I look forward to writing your next promotion.

Additional reasons

When it has been brought to my attention that Edgar Drachen is eligible for the promotion to the rank of Equite 2, my first thought was, “Why I, as the Rollmaster of the Clan haven’t spoken about it first?” My surprise about that was caused by the fact that Edgar is one of the most excellent members of Clan Odan-Urr and whole Dark Jedi Brotherhood. I might bring numbers that prove my claim about Edgar, but there is no need to, as others have done it. May the fact that Edgar has been mentioned as one of the highlighted members in my last reports as the COU Rollmaster. Actually, he has been highlighted as the most active Clan member in all of them. Three months of extraordinary activity, gathering hundreds of Clusters of Fire and numerous awards of various types.

However, when it comes to Equite promotions, especially of Equite 2 and higher, mere activity is something that is important, but should be an addition to one’s service to his or her unit and whole Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Edgar has been an accomplished Aedile of House Hoth since the 3rd of December, 2015. He has inspired many people under his command to be very active and to go beyond and above the call of duty through leading by his excellent example. He has also mastered three members of our Clan to the rank of JM4 (Alethia Archenksova, Len Iode and leocadio) and has severely impacted development of numerous other members.

Apart from his successes, I consider Edgar as a friend of mine. He is a very communicative person, regularly posting news about various competitions at COU Telegram channel and taking active part in discussions of the Clan Summit. He is a mature and a friendly person, who is always there to give a piece of advice and to help people, who are in need of assistance. His insight is very helpful in carrying out our duties within the Clan.

I could spend hours on complimenting Edgar, but I shall say just one more thing. As one of more experienced members of the Brotherhood, I have rarely seen as awesome people as Edgar is. I would love to have as much as half of zeal and dedication as he displays in all things he does for Clan Odan-Urr and whole Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Congratulations, Savant Edgar Drachen!

Looking at the numbers, Drachen contributes a staggering amount to this Clan and the club as a whole. What the numbers don’t show how much activity he inspires from others. Since joining Odan-Urr I’ve become an Aedile and ACC Judge, brought home oodles of Crescents, and I’m currently sitting at 100% participation in the ongoing Feud. And I can say with confidence that I wouldn’t have done any of that without Ed. Anyone can recruit someone, but it takes something special to make that recruit feel like he’s found a real home. Ed, more than anything else, is why I’ve made the Brotherhood a significant part of my life instead of a site I visit occasionally. Turel and Nathan are more than capable of explaining Drachen’s numbers and workload, but what stands out to me is the degree to which he brings out the potential in so many others.

Anyone can sit in Telegram or play a game, but Ed does more than that. He brings an infectious energy and passion to everything he does in the Brotherhood. He’s a living example of an active member, of course, but he also deeply believes in the potential of everyone around him and is willing to work hard to help them realize it. This has brought two active Knights to Odan-Urr since he made EQ1 (plus myself two days earlier), but I’ve also watched him support several other members, including Junazee, Aaleeshah, and Tisto, as they set and achieve their own goals. I don’t think there’s been a single Clan project or competition that I haven’t seen Ed hype in Telegram, nor a new member that he hasn’t greeted with a warm welcome. He’s a force for growth and one of Odan-Urr’s greatest assets.

Thanks for everything, Ed. Enjoy your well-earned promotion!

Edgar is a powerhouse of activity, particularly where games are concerned. Since his last promotion nearly six months ago, he has earnt a staggering amount of Clusters of Fire (5273), along with 19 Pendants of Blood, many of them for being at the top of the food chain for weekly gaming. When you add another 704 Clusters of Earth on top of this, it is easy to see why he achieved 2nd place club-wide in the GMRG placements for Quarter 4, 2015, outmatching nearly every gamer in the club with his own activity. He also jumps into written competitions, earning himself 16 Clusters of Ice.

In addition to his outstanding activity record, he has earnt a Grand Cross and a Steel Cross for his drive and efforts, and amassed an impressive tally of Crescents: 43 in total, including 6 with Diamond Stars, 8 Ruby Stars, 16 Amethyst, 7 Sapphire, 2 Emerald, 3 Topaz and a Quartz. This indicates that not only does he participate in a lot of competitions (139 - itself a truly amazing number for five months), he places well, even in club-wide competitions.

His activity doesn't stop there; he is constantly talking on Telegram, and has mentored a few good members into our club. During the past five months, he has earnt himself a Scroll of Indoctrination and two Scrolls of the Master for his recruitment and mentoring efforts.

As my Aedile, he has offered advice and decision-making support for almost four months now. He engages directly with the members of our Clan, makes everyone feel welcome and he helps drive their activity towards our goals. He has organized 13 competitions in his time as Aedile (and another dozen on top), and always ensures that our members have something to play with. Behind the scenes, he has offered good advice on a couple of projects, which will come to light during this year.

Overall, Edgar is a stellar example of how activity can drive and shape a person. He is always driven to do more, and he always delivers solid participation. I am proud to endorse his promotion to Equite 2, and look forward to continuing to work with him in my House. Congratulations, Edgar!!

Activity is necessary to get to the Rank of Equite 2, and Edgar has gone above and beyond this. He has become a inspiration to those who work below him. I would bring numbers in to prove it, but to be honest, I don't know them. Yet, I know that he has spent countless hours flying in Star Conflict, or playing paazak, getting members together to be active. If someone mentions they will be gaming at a certain time, if Edgar isn't able to be on, he has let everyone know trying to get people to be as active as he is. I have to agree with Turel, that Edgar should have been promoted the very second he could have, he definitely deserves the recognition for his extraordinary efforts.

As a leader, Edgar is a roll model, offering to help with ideas, and asking to see how interested people will be in something, or even asking for ideas to get everyone involved. He has helped me develop ideas several times, and is a very easy person to work with. In addition he has taken a very keen interest in ensuring that everyone in his house is rewarded for their efforts, and spent several hours going over the house roster, and the roster of the Knights of Allusis to make sure that everyone was recognized for there work. It was amazing to see that someone was so focused on getting people recognition

-Congratulations Edgar
