Turr Darvesh, or Cable as he is known to us, has been a consistent and dedicated contributor to the success of House Shan and the Clan. I have to confess, I got a somewhat negative impression of Cable when I first returned to the Clan to serve as Proconsul last summer. His upbeat and joking demeanor gave me an impression of unprofessionalism toward his summit position. I will stand here in front of everyone and say I was dead wrong and that he has earned my respect in spades. Cable’s accomplishments as individual, House leader and in support of the Clan leave zero doubt as to his dedication to others and his worthiness to be a Councilor of Urr.
As an individual member he has participated in forty three competitions since his last promotion, earning Crescents in eighteen of those and hosting fourteen more. His presence raises morale and encourages others wherever he goes and he can always be counted on as one of the Clan’s top frontline soldiers in a vendetta. He participated in seven competitions of our recent feud with Plagueis. In short, whether he is in a position or not, Cable is a model member for others to rally to.
Cable served as the Quaestor of House Shan for three months since his last promotion and even beyond that time worked behind the scenes to set up his successor, Mako, for success. He made significant contributions to the House Shan wiki page as well as Seher, the House’s main base of operations. He continues to advise and provide assistance to the House Shan summit, most recently by helping them develop a new House planet which is currently in the process of revision and approval.
Cable’s most significant contribution during this period was toward the Clan as a whole, the Rise of the Force Ascendant event. Cable was the single greatest contributor to that event as the plot and concept of it were his ideas. He wrote large portions of the fiction updates, helped me design and grade the events themselves and single-handedly drafted two high quality wiki articles (Order of the Force Ascendant and Kuku-Hawene) in support of the event. The impact of Cable’s work on Force Ascendant can be seen in the results of the event: a thirteen competition Clan event that boasted 30 unique participants with an average of 4.6 entries per member (averaged over the entire Clan roster), making it the most successful internal event in Odan-Urr history.
This recognition has been a long time coming, House Shan and the Clan would not be what they are without Cable. On a personal level I have come to value his perspective and counsel and on at least one occasion he has acted as an elder statesman of sorts to mediate between senior members and the sitting summit. He is everything a Clan title holder should be and has the heart of an Elder, a rank I have no doubt he’ll one day reach. I look forward to having him back on summit in the near future. On behalf of House Shan and the Clan I thank him for everything he does.
