For some members the end of their journey seems to occur around the time they attain their Knight status. Some get hooked up on the lack of a checklist, or discouraged by the longer times between promotions. Thankfully this does not appear to have been the case for my former apprentice. Since his promotion to Knight, despite keeping busy in real life with the Faire, he has continued to march forward. Merely filling a space has not been enough for Firith'rar J. Versea-Stormwind. He has continued to self-improve, seeking out help to grow as a writer and never being afraid to seek feedback.
His passion and desire for excellence shine through in everything he does, and I can earnestly and honestly say I am excited to see what else that my former apprentice can bring to the table. Over the course of the last five months, Firith'rar has managed to gather a nice little trove of shinies in recognition of his work. Shortly after his promotion, he was able to earn a Dark Cross, and he has continued striving for excellence as he completed in 49 competitions and organized 3 more himself. His work has netted him 2 Crescents with Ruby Star, 1 Crescent with Amethyst Star, 5 Crescents with Sapphire Star, 3 Crescents with Emerald Star and another 2 Crescents with Topaz Star. This means for every 4 competitions he has participated in, he places in at least one on average. I find that at least a wee bit impressive!
As I mentioned above, my former apprentice has tried to improve, including further diversifying his skill-sets. While not seeming as natural a gamer as some, Firith has still found time to sharpen himself. He has managed to earn 2 Pendants of Blood, 198 Clusters of Fire and a decent 30 Clusters of Earth. Even with the 36 PVP matches and his singular PVE activity I am quite glad to see that Firith has not let his writing slide aside. He has managed to participated in 10 fiction activities, writing up 11706 words of fiction. To put this in perspective he has averaged almost 1,200 words a fiction, no minor feat. He has also taken part in 2 Runons, writing up 3 RO posts for a word count of 1901. So for the 13607 total words he has written up, he has managed to earn 19 Clusters of Ice! Even despite his work, he continues to consult with myself and others to ensure the quality of his writing does to falter, and that he continues to improve. I find this drive admirable.
As time has carried on, it has been a pleasure to see Firith'rar pushing forward and pushing onward. His tenacity is admirable, and I hope it will carry him to great things. He is a valued part of the Clan and I hope he will prove himself further as he steps up to take a place amongst our Equites. Congratulations, Firith'rar my friend! Take your place as a new Mystic, and I hope you enjoy the robes, weapons, and abilities that accompany your new rank. :D
