Savant Edgar Drachen has been a bit of a thorn in my side for the Dept of Legends courses for the past few weeks now. It began shortly after Farrin took office as HM and wanted us to begin work on each of our courses that Edgar took each of the old Order courses and offered his insight on each exam and their notes. His advice was to standardize the questions in each exam. That would be to keep the number of questions the same across all the exams instead of 8 in some, and 14 in others. Also some of the questions were misleading, like "What would Darth Vader be...." on the Sith exam when the answer would be Obelisk. Other exams had 3 or 4 essay questions with vague prompts like "How did the Guardians feel during X event" or "Why was Yoda a Consular".
During his feedback he noted that there were many grammar and spelling errors in the older courses that had been there for some time. He also noted there was a lack of content in the Dark Side courses leading up to the rollback to align us with current canon. All of this gave me a fresh insight on what newer members would like to see when taking the courses in this department. He advised that a new member seeing this content for the first time would be confused at how the old Orders worked.
While not a complete confidant on the workings of the new courses I have used him as a sounding board for writing the new course notes and how he thinks that members view each Order now vs. how they were viewed on their formation for the DJB. This was all after I only noted that it would take me awhile to work through the notes. He did this on his own accord and I cannot describe the joy I have to see a member jump to help like this.
Thank you for your help man, it has been invaluable for me and the Department of Legends.
