Primary reason

Warrior Jorm Na’trej has spent his time at Equite I knocking out quality work, both for competitions, clan discussions, and insight on various clan projects, specifically regarding to the development of House Excidium. Today I am honored to recommend his advancement on to Equite II.

To date, Jorm has competed in 38 competitions. These include ones from our recently finished clan event, our feud against Naga Sadow, and a house feud earlier in the year. These efforts have earned him 2 Diamond Stars, 5 Ruby Stars, 1 Amethyst Star, 2 Sapphire Stars, and 2 Emerald Stars. Additionally he has earned 1 Grand Cross, 1 Anteian Cross, 1 Dark Cross, 88 Clusters of Fire, 14 Clusters of Ice, 1 Scroll of Indoctrination, 1 Scroll of the Master, and 1 Legion of the Scholar.

On the project front, Jorm has been largely responsible for much of House Excidium’s lore and development. He has helped put a lot of thought on possible loadouts for the House with the release of unit possessions. On Telegram, he is actively nearly every single day, often prompting large scale discussions about many different topics.

Jorm has shown that the Warrior is ready to become the Battlemaster. Congratulations Jorm, drinks are on you!

Additional reasons

Jorm's consistent whirlwind of activity across all areas of the brotherhood has showed no signs of slowing over the years he's been with us in Scholae Palatinae. His activity in competitions only scratches the surface of what Jorm brings to the clan in terms of contribution.

As mentioned Jorm is responsible for most of the lore behind Excidium. This contribution has come in a variety of forms, in ideas, in proposals, and in wikipedia development, largely one of the reasons Excidium, with its nomadic, decentralised structure, has become such a unique battleteam. Recently Jorm was assigned the task of deciding which ships Excidium needs to accomplish its goals from the possessions system. What came back was a 16 page document, co-authored with Blade and Arch.

What also should not be forgotten is how important Jorm can be in raising the standards of others' work, as well as his own. If I want someone to find a flaw in something, I'll ask Jorm. He'll find one. Even if there's not one there. I experienced this on an extreme level on the multimedia competition in the clan feud, where Jorm was part of the winning team, and came back with 5 mistakes in every frame of the movie, showing immense attention to the smallest details. Without that, and him lending his voice as a narrator, there is no way it would have been the high quality work that it is. This trait in Jorm is something that I feel CSP greatly relies on, as it pushes us to think in different ways and explore new options.

I have no doubt that Jorm raises the standards of everyone he works with, and has shown the maturity, activity and consistency worthy of the rank of Battlemaster.

Mead on you!

I’ve known Jorm for some time now and the first thought that comes to my mind is “isn’t that the most amazing minion you could ask for?” He may play the role of an ordinary rank and file clan member but his work over the last 11 months as an Equite 1 has been anything but ordinary. He is dedicated, active, and willing to “get his hands dirty” to help out the clan. In the most recent Clan event, Jorm “The Jester” not only participated in several competitions but also was available every day in the telegram channels to help any younger members tread the DB waters.

Now, his consistent activity and winning record speak for themselves, but his projects and impact on House Excidium has been far more interesting. Firstly, Jorm has been in CSP for a long time and often helps guide the younger members, whether it be the best way to plan the future or something as simple as setting up a game. Secondly, Jorm has always had a VESTED interest in the lore of House Excidium and has put in a lot of work to help build that lore. Before I became the Quaestor of House Excidium, I knew that he had written the wiki writeup for the House (despite not being in a leadership position), reached out to others to help create the Excidium Fleet as it currently stands on the wiki, and much more to ensure that Excidium move forward.

What about now? A new Quaestor came along and House Excidium now has “two cooks in the kitchen”. Since then, he has worked with me to help drive Excidium forward. We haven’t always agreed but he has provided the sort of real feedback that is required to make an idea great for everyone. More recently, the new possessions system gave Excidium a chance to relook at our Fleet. To that end, a very long document was put together. Yes, it was 16 pages but more importantly it was the well researched, discussed, and reviewed for accuracy compared to the new House Excidium direction. As a Quaestor, I did not have to prod him to make those changes and I find that “just do it attitude” wonderful to work with. As a result, House Excidium had a base for its new Quaestor to work off of and we kept true to the spirit of the House when we picked out a suggested Fleet buildout for the House.

In conclusion, I hereby recommend Jorm “The Jester” Na’trej be promoted to Equite 2. This is a member that has made himself a pillar of House Excidium without taking on the leadership mantle. His project work has been excellent and he has given invaluable service to many, including myself. He even manages to stay active despite these extra duties. Therefore, a huge congratz to a very deserving member! Well done!! Drinks are on you and no you can’t steal Blade’s Rancor Tequila!!! I look forward to the work we do together in the future ^^.
