Primary reason

Korroth is my hero. He is not only a powerhouse of individual activity but he does a tremendous amount of the behind the scenes work for the Clan and larger Brotherhood that is so critical to how we operate. He does all this with humility and no expectation of reward, that’s just the kind of guy he is. We should all be more like Korroth.

His body of project work since his last promotion speaks to the work ethic of an Elder, not an Equite. He received a Grand Cross, an Anteian Cross and a Dark Cross for project work in support of the Combat Master. He received not one but two Dark Crosses for helping the Shadow Academy in addition to two Scrolls of Foundation for catching course errors. If that wasn’t enough, he got an additional three Scrolls for grading ACC qualification exams. His wiki skills are legendary, in addition to the various wiki work that’s been recorded in his merit awards he’s been recognized by the wiki staff as the featured page for both his personal wiki and the Sky Breach Base page he created for House Shan.

As an individual Clan member he has been recognized with a Steel Cross and Anteian Cross for his Clan activity. He has participated in 123 competitions and 11 container competitions where he took home an impressive 65 Crescents. In addition to all the competitions he’s won, Korroth has amassed 165 Clusters of Fire, 90 Clusters of Earth, 33 Clusters of Ice, 13 Clusters of Graphite, and a Legion of the Scholar. He was the winner of the Battle Formations Clan event, 2nd place in the Life Day Games and a strong participant in several other events. Korroth is one of COU’s best front line warriors.

There is very little that this guy doesn’t do and he’s one of the nicest, most humble people you will ever meet. It has been my honor to not only have Korroth in my Clan but to serve beside him on the ACC staff these past several months. His elevation to the upper Equite ranks has been earned several times over. Congrats!

Additional reasons

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Korroth not only throughout his tenure as an ACC Judge, but through the work he does for the Voice staff as well. This is a member that isn't necessarily the superstar you would expect. He isn't flashy and out there. Korroth is the quiet type, but he's consistent. Always there to help with a project and give his perspective. Ready to tackle the dreaded Wiki at a moment's notice. The guy with his nose to the ground, working away at something tedious.

That is the type of member Korroth is. He gets work done, even if it isn't all showy. It was still a surprise to realize all the projects he has worked on, despite knowing the ones he had done for me. It's hard to quantify exactly what a workhorse like that does, but Turel has managed to do so wonderfully in the main recommendation so I won't bother trying to imitate it.

What I can say, without doubt, is that Korroth was and still is a valued member. Even if he is no longer ACC staff, his presence has been felt and can be seen in the current state of our wiki pages and the member experience we offer in the ACC. His judgements have always been sound and informative, shying away from anything that could be seen as degrading to a member. His feedback in discussions is always there whenever it is needed, no matter which Judge is asking. He is a constant that anyone would be lucky to work with.

It's an honor to be appending a recommendation to this promotion, and I know it is well deserved. Without doubt. Congratulations, Korroth.

Atra Ventus Combat Master of the Brotherhood

Korroth is nothing short of a godsend. In one of my largest moments of frustration, I dropped a problem that I ran into onto a few different people. Korroth was the first to simply look at the problem, and not just offer an alternative solution, but get right to work and help me make it happen.

Korroth's ability to work on projects is unique. While he was technically on staff for me as an ACC Judge, Korroth has always been eager to help out when called on. Position or not, he just likes to help, and his willingness to do this is easy to see when you look over the long series of awards he's racked up since his last promotion. I know, because two of them were from me.

So I stand here, today, to add my Voice (heh) to this recommendation. Beyond his performance as an ACC Judge and member of Odan Urr, Korroth is an active participant in the DB Fiction Chat, helping the community thrive by asking great questions on the daily form and providing thoughtful answers and assistance to other members.

Where Korroth has really stands out. however, is how he's figured out a way to take all my crazy notes/formatting ideas I come up with in a Google Docs and translating them to the Wiki. Not only does he get my documentation properly hyperlinked and formatting, he's made tables and gone out of his way to care about the aesthetic presentation. He came to my rescue with helping me create the Fiction Center Project view the sandbox here. This will serve as an invaluable resource to members . Korroth's work has been completed on this project, and it is only waiting on the Voice to finish up some content before pushing it live.

Korroth also did work on the Writing Resource Guide, and new Canon Character guide that will help give members a better idea of where Canon characters rank in the DJB CS system. His formatting and tables go a long way to making the content presentable.

Finally, he was also key in proof reading and formatting the new DB Canon article. This is a major resource for members, and shows how Korroth's hard work translates to helping improve the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

For his hard work and willingness to do the nitty gritty work that is so important for enhancing user experience, I am proud to see him elevated in this promotion.

Thank you for everything you do, Korro. It doesn't go unnoticed.

Reading some of the above, you might get the impression that Korroth takes something that's basically written and slaps a bunch of wiki markup and a picture on it and calls it a day. You fool! You see that sweet article for Sky Breach Base? Korroth came up with every idea (beyond the vague notion of a skyhook), wrote every word, and handed me a draft with pictures, markup, and basically no need for proofing. The Shan summit was barely involved; we got to just sit back and enjoy Korroth making us look really good. Any idiot can toss a few apostrophes into a box on the website to make a wiki article. We all love that Korroth does the grunt work, sure, but you shouldn't underestimate the fact that everything he produces is solid gold when we would have settled for copper.

Of course, he handles everything like that. Not only has Korroth participated in 134 competitions since his last promotion, he placed in just shy of half of them. An active member is always a boon to his unit, but it's truly impressive to see a member who maintains Korroth's level of activity and manages to put that much skill and effort into his comp entries. That he's a triple threat - gaming, producing excellent pencil drawings, and writing beautifully - just underscores what a delight it is to have the guy in my house.

The cherry on top of the awesome Korroth sundae is his attitude. In a club that at times produces an awful lot of drama, Korroth is seemingly exempt from it. I've never known anyone to have a spat with him. He's fantastically easy to work with and never seems to care if he gets the attention or credit he's due.

In short, he is exactly the kind of member we want our upper Equites to be. Congratulations, man. You've earned it.

Korroth is an interesting member and certainly one to keep an eye on, enough information has been provided regarding the sheer amount of work he puts into the Dark Brotherhood across a wide variety of its avenues of activity. However, there can not be enough recommendations to show how valued he is - Although quiet, I haven't known anyone else in my time in this Club who has consistently worked on multiple projects and done so in such a subtle yet capable manner.

I'll not write a long recommendation pointing out everything he has done as my peers have already done so, I can only reiterate how much of a valued member he is and how much so that he deserves his promotion - one of which, I am sure, will be followed by many further awards and promotions in the future.

Keep it up, Korroth and congratulations on your well-deserved promotion.

Korroth....I believe this man is an AI housed in some government facility somewhere. Since his last promotion just under a year ago, he has been awarded every merit award (some with multiples) for his work within the DJB. THey have ranged from work in the ACC, helping to fix issues in the SA, and work within COU and Satele Shan. He has also been awarded two Dark Side Scroll's for his work with the DJB Wiki.

This is not a comprehensive list of everything he has done in 10 months as that would include thousands of words of fiction, over a dozen ACC matches graded and gaming submissions, rounded off with several SA courses graded and taken. I wont go into his Crescent count, as its been covered, and its pretty extensive.

The higher Equite ranks signify that a member is stepping outside of the role of a consumer and seeking only to better themselves. It signifies that they work to give back to the DJB and pass on lessons learned to junior members. Korroth is a prime example of this, and to have him in Shan and COU is an honor.

Congrats Korroth on this much deserved promotion!
