Standing at the bridge of the mighty Vizsla battleship, Shimrah looked at each crew member’s face assembled to either side of the walkway. His Apprentice, the newly appointed Magistrate to the Consul, closed the distance quickly, but unhurriedly.
Shimrah, standing a few steps higher, looked down and accessed his Apprentice for a moment, but said nothing to him.
“Fall in!” He barked from behind his T-visor.
Petty officers swarmed the Cathar and Zabrak in a half circle around them. Shimrah casually looked left to right to make sure they had settled in and were silent.
“Draex, within the last handful of months, you’ve completed task after task, faced demon after demon and still risen through the ranks.” Shimrah ignited his lightsaber with a snap-hiss, its crimson glow bathing the onlookers.
“Kneel.”
The Cathar kneeled, the humming of the lightsaber passing by both ears.
“From this day forth. Lieutenant Draex Verr, Apprentice to Shimrah, Magistrate to the Consul, I name you a Knight of Vizsla, and immediately promote you to Captain. Rise, my learner no more.”
With the conclusion of the Proconsul’s speech, the onlookers erupted into applause and cheering before mobbing the new Captain.
