Qormus Aquila has been one of the most invaluable members of Clan Plagueis in the time since his last medal recognition. His two Proconsul stints have come at times where it has been absolutely critical that the Ascendant Clan have dedicated leadership in the executive officer position, and his individual activity has also been of the utmost quality that has reflected exceedingly well upon himself and his clan. His service to the Brotherhood as a whole has been nothing short of exemplary, as our newly appointed Grand Master will attest below.
In the realm of activity, Qormus has always brought more than an "A game" to the table. Since his last medal, he has submitted to 207 competitions and earned 46 crescents: 4 Diamond, 8 Ruby, 7 Amethyst, 7 Sapphire, 8 Emerald, 7 Topaz, and 5 Quartz. Qormus earns a crescent awarding placement in 22% of the competitions he enters. Additionally, he has earned 13 Clusters of Ice, 1 Cluster of Earth, 70 Clusters of Graphite, and 26 Seals of Ascension. Add to that 13 SA courses, 3 degrees, and 3 Seals of Foundation.
More important than his individual counting stats has been what he has done as Proconsul of Clan Plagueis. All too often the leadership tasks that our Clan and House summits get a bit "lost in the shuffle" because they do not show up on an assessment tracker, or they are hard to quantify. Qormus is one of the people who shine in those areas, the person who has made the transition from consumer to producer. He is there doing the hard, oftentimes thankless work that ensures our members are engaged and having a good time. Nowhere is this better proven than in how well our Clan has performed during the last two Pro Bowls. For these events, Consuls are nearly AWOL from the day to day operations of their Clans as they step into the same shoes as a Dark Councilor running a Vendetta. This leads our Proconsuls to step up to pick up the slack, something that Qormus has done exceedingly well when called upon. Pro Bowl VI saw Clan Plagueis generate 259 total entries from 21 unique participants, which was more than what we saw during the then-recently completed Great Jedi War. This was more than any other participating unit, and it was Qormus's leadership during the event, both directly engaging with members and managing our summit team to do the same themselves, that was greatly responsible for it. This year, after returning to the PCON chair after having to step away due to real life commitments, Qormus might have done even better. Even though we were a couple of members smaller than in 2022, Qormus's work saw Plagueis grow our total Pro Bowl submissions to 266 total entries from 20 unique participants. He did excellent work during the rest of his tenure for sure, but these periods where he was having to manage the Clan almost on his own show specifically what he has been responsible for as a leader divorced from any superior guiding his hand.
Each and every clan would be absolutely thrilled to have Qormus as a part of their leadership team, and I am thankful for all that has helped me accomplish for the members of Clan Plagueis. The awarding of a Ruby Scepter is but a small token of the gratitude that his Clan and his clanmates have for everything he does.

Since his last medal, Qormus spent 5 months as my M:DGM. During that time, besides acting as a sounding board for ideas, he undertook two major projects. First, he helped to lead the revision of the Consul's Handbook, which was a major undertaking that required dissecting an extremely outdated handbook, deciding which parts could be salvaged, and then working with the rest of his small team to identify important new information and somehow put it all together in an intelligible package. I think it turned out very nicely. Second, he spent hours digesting the last several years of club-wide and clan-specific statistics and analyzing trends. The end product was 14 pages of analysis and recommendations, which was shared with the clans for their review.

I'm going to be 'that guy' that leaves the numbers to others on this one. What I want to speak to is Qormus' character. Qormus came under my realm of awareness in a time of uncertainty for me. I was hiring two new Hands after going an extended period bouncing between known entities. This time, I was taking a true risk not really knowing what I was going to get.
Well, what I got was a dedicated and passionate member of the Brotherhood, who can't be kept down no matter what life throws at him. In our discussions, Qormus was respectful and contemplative. When it came to potential charges, he was able to argue from the difficult position of "the defense" even if he himself may not agree with what went down. But he laid out his arguments and did it well. That was, in fact, what I hired him for...and he gave that to me in spades.
In Qormus, you have dependability, intelligence, and passion for the club. I could go on, but platitudes only go so far in recommendations. I'm just happy to be able to append my own to this request.
Congratulations, Qormus. You deserve it.

You'd think with less than a week in the Chamber I'd have little to say but, with actual activities that need to be addressed, I quickly saw Qormus in action. Never one to presume an outcome he's been a steward of engagement during my transition and helping me frame what's going on. I echo Atra's comments above that he's an insightful and reliable Hand and I'm glad to be working with him.
