I get the strong sense that Warp’s entire DB career was much like it is now: intense and contagious. He brings FOMO like no tomorrow, you might as well give in now because you will eventually and wonder why you hadn’t sooner.

Since joining DB, Warp has been a BTS, BTL, Quaestor, M:Fist and M:GM more or less a year for each and half of it since obtaining EQ4. The fine folks attached and the multitude of awards he has earned over time can tell you what those leadership roles entailed much better than I can. I however can speak of the ridiculous amount of activity that the website has recorded:

As of today he has earned over 88061 total XP. Since last promotion in 2018 Warp has participated in 596 gaming activities with 52 Legacy PvP matches. His all-time? 2842 gaming and 258 pvp matches.

Wowza.

Going back to 2018 again we have the rest: 200/179 competitions with obviously most of them gaming, but also 3 brackets, 11 fictions, 11 graphics, 4 manual, 44 regular and 40 timed. He completed 8 fictions and 3 ROs, and passed 12 courses. Then we have the vendetta goodies: 10 gold novae😮2 silver, 2 bronze, with a total of 22 Seals of Discord and 30 Seals of Vision, all since last promotion.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the staggering 3004 (20039 total!) Clusters of fire and 4711 (22667 total!) Clusters of earth, and the enviable 12 (83!!) Pendants of blood. Hardly last is 20 Clusters of ice and 39 Graphite and of course, 3 total Seals of Loyalty.

And finally, Warp has earned Arcona 2195700 credits and Vizsla 1535450. I can assure you he has made Vizsla very happy with bringing home the bacon (but where’s the ranch?).

A little trivia I found while going through his dossier, according to Sarin’s recommendation in 2020, Warp was at the time “#1 all time in the club in Diamond Crescents, Pendants of Blood, Clusters of Fire, and Clusters of Earth (2 x more than #2).” While I don’t have new stats I have heard whispers of rivalries over who has more of what and when, and I am putting my money on Warp. Just sayin’.

Gaming and getting others to game wasn’t all Warp did as evidenced by the 2 Ruby Scepters, 1 AK, 3 SBs, and multitude of medals all earned prior to XP. And then four very important ones: 2 scrolls of Indoctrination and 2 Scrolls of the Master. He brings the bacon and the ranch.

TLDR: The name and verb “Warp” means community and activity, the heart of what DB is.

I’ve heard Do Work! as a Vizsla motto even before you returned, and am thrilled to see in person where it came from. Thank you for being such a great part of our club and congratulations!

There are a lot of things I can say about Warp deserving Elder. In fact, I have been looking forward to writing this for quite some time. Activity wise Warp has just been a beast throughout his career here in the Brotherhood. A classic example of this is just looking at his gaming activity. As I mentioned in his recent Ruby Scepter recommendation he finally lost first place in total clusters of fire after a two and half year absence. While that is impressive his Clusters of Earth total might possibly be an unbreakable record. He has earned 22558 Clusters of Earth as of my writing this. That is more than second and third place COMBINED. Just absolutely insane activity!

He served Clan Vizsla admirably while on the summit serving a year and a half as Quaestor. He was involved in both running the clan but also in planning and organizing events including the Great Hunts. Warp was here at the very beginning of Clan Vizsla helping create the foundational documents to get the Clan approved. But his leadership went beyond just Clan Vizsla. He would game with anyone regardless of clan or skill level. Teaching members to play the games and helping them gather skills in the various games played in the club.

I find no better way to sum up Warp than in the Sapphire Blade recommendation that Zoron wrote in 2021: "one thing that jumped out to me was the huge hole left by Warp transferring to the Rogues" When he went rogue there was a hole left that was felt not just by Clan Vizsla but by the entire club, particularly in the gaming community.

He is one of the most deserving members I can think of to be made Elder and I am honored to finally get to recommend him for it.

Warp had been (and always be) a monster in this club. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for a few years now and he's been someone whose dedication (as a formal leader as well as an informal mentor/leader) has been a credit. Looking back on some of his contributions proves that - he has always been quick to invite anyone to play with him, he's always volunteering to submit things, and eagerly pushes for improvements in the gaming community.

Even in the few weeks back and active, he is already around 500 Clusters earned. Every single one of those Clusters can be multiplied into activity across the club - that's a contribution that cannot be downplayed or ignored. I expect him to very rapidly regain his grip on the top Cluster-earner in the club's history (who will reach 20,000 CFs first???).

In short, there are few people who have contributed as fully to the club's overall gaming health as Warp - you could see his departure left a void, and his return has already seen an uptick in overall activity. He has fully earned his elevation to the ranks of Elder!

I could spend all this time throwing numbers at the wall and talking about how much of a gaming juggernaut Warp is. But I'm not going to.

What I'm going to say is that Warp embodies how to be a leader without being in a leadership role. This club is about our activity. At the heart of everything, that cannot be disputed. What Warp does is generate activity. Nuclear grade activity. And he never goes it alone. Warp is always there to hop into games and bring everyone else along with him, ensuring everyone is getting credit for multiplayer gaming and feeling a sense of community. Of belonging.

In my opinion, recognizing that is long overdue and I'm glad to lend my voice to it. Congratulations.
