Primary reason

At this point, what is there left to say about TuQ’uan Varick di Plagia, Proconsul of Clan Plagueis, Dread Lord's Wrath, Wearer of Hats? The work that he has done, and the activity he has generated, in the 14 months since his last elevation would put the entire career accumulations of many members to shame. He has also continued to serve as a exceedingly capable, totally overqualified second as Proconsul. He has always provided support as my right hand that has allowed events like the Pro Bowl, and its clan-external demands for my attention, to proceed smoothly as our Clan continues to drive activity internally. His work has been nothing short of exemplary.

In the realm of general member activity, TuQ has put up the sorts of numbers that, in the little over a year since his making Elder, seem like typos. Competition entries? How about 841 entries. With those entries, he's amassed 5 Gold, 4 Silver, and 3 Bronze Novae to complement his 23 Diamond, 85 Ruby, 184 Amethyst, 174 Sapphire, 38 Emerald, 27 Topaz, and 8 Crescents (there are some of those double take, looks like a typo numbers for sure). That's 541 competition placements, which equates to taking home a placement award with 65% of his competition entries. Clusters? He's earned those, too. 245 Clusters of Fire for gaming, 136 Clusters of Graphite for art, and 66 Clusters of Ice earned for ACC matches, Fiction, and Roleplaying activities. He's passed 6 SA courses and earned a pair of degrees. He's ranked up 13 times in various societies. He's earned two Seals of Foundation and a Seal of Loyalty. He shows up at the important times, with 26 Seals of Transcendence for his GJW entries and 100% participation across 33 competitions in the recently completed Pro Bowl (Just missing out on second place in the latter on a total Novae earned tiebreaker).

His activity would put almost any member to shame, but he does all of that while also holding down various positions. He has spent every day of the last 14 months as a member of the Plagueis Summit, split evenly between the position of Quaestor and Proconsul. In those capacities, he has hit every report required of him. He sends out weekly activity update emails to the Clan, directing them towards activities and any ongoing major competitions. He has worked hand in hand with our Quaestors since taking over as Proconsul, working with them to maintain the overall Clan activity levels that Plagueis has always worked to hit, most recently with the Pro Bowl. In that event, Plagueis saw 283 total competition entries from 20 unique participants (which accounted for 62.5% of the eligible participants on the Clan roster) while earning 38 total Novae across all competitions. TuQ's direct involvement in engaging the membership and mentoring our House leaders to ensure they are working closely with their members is a direct cause of our healthy activity levels unit wide. Without the hint of hyperbole I can state that Plagueis would be in a bad place without TuQ's continued work. And, most importantly, TuQ doesn't confine himself to passively encouraging members to be active in competitions. He has literally thrown himself into the realm of running competitions as well, to the tune of 344 competitions organized and 5 co-organized in the last year plus. He provides competitive outlets while at the same time encouraging members to be active through those competitive outlets, a self reinforcing set of behaviors that stands him in unique company throughout the Brotherhood. He has even spent time pulling tours as members of both the Regent and Exarch staffs, showing that he really has trouble finding enough work to do in general.

All in all, TuQ's work over the last year has seen him awarded both a Steel Cross and a coveted Emerald Dagger. He has been one of the most active and dedicated members of the Brotherhood, whether looking within Plagueis or across the entire DB as a whole. It seems like I just wrote one of these for TuQ'uan, but that also tells the story of just how much he has done in the short time it has been since he was last promoted. Most members hit the first rank of the Elders and at least stop to catch their breath, having finally ascended that final mountain that has often seemed unattainable in years past. TuQ'uan has not only not stopped to enjoy his achievement but has kicked things up a notch on his way to where he finds himself. Having written a large number of recommendations for award or advancement in my time within the Brotherhood, there has rarely (if ever) been a recommendation that I have looked forward to or enjoyed more than this one. TuQ, keep kicking ass and taking names my friend!
