You love him, or you hate him. You trust him, or you donât. All that Solus Gar has to do, however, is show you how to get things done.
First, as a participant - Solus participated in all eleven events of both Dark Crusade phases. He placed in over half. He was a stalwart wiki team contributor, run-on extraordinaire, and graphics wizard. Second, as a leader - Solus continually worked to motivate the rest of the membership to deliver the same punch that he was shooting out toward the competition, and it helped. Participation for Plagueis shot up, with an even bigger participation showing in the second phase than the first. With his involvement and his attempts at individual encouragement, Solus was a dynamic factor in securing victories for both the Nfolgai phase and the Khar Delba phase.
Third, as a creator - Solus single-handedly created an activity tracker for the Dark Crusade vendetta. This allowed the summit, BTLs and all, to evaluate participation not only by the unit itself, but also by the battle teams. This allowed leaders to specifically judge how their unit and sub-units were doing, in order to spark the proper motivation. While rivalry may not be the right term to use between battle teams Karness Muur and Ajunta Pall, there was certainly a hunger in each team to out-compete the other, for the sake of individual and unit-wide accomplishment.
On a similar note, Solus has always proven himself to be the perfect source of information and creativity for lore, especially on the DJBwiki. His consistent edits and improvements to the Plagueis fiction and hierarchy are astounding and outstanding. Articles that were in dire need of a clean-up are well on their way to polish and perfection, no matter where he is now in the unit.
Whether or not he remains Aedile, in the end, is irrelevant. It is obvious that no matter where Solus stands, he works for the betterment of House Plagueis. Perhaps he becomes too zealous in his fight for the unit, which could disillusion other units and raise questions about his character. But this medal is a symbol of his achievements, not his personality. It recognizes the amount of high-energy work and enthusiasm that he, on a daily basis, places into the Ascendant House. And we on the Plagueis summit thank him for it.
OPM Ronovi Tavisaen, Aedile of House Plagueis
Solus Gar is a member who dedicates everything he has to the units that support him. Plagueis welcomed him with open arms, and in turn, he gave of himself to ensure its success. Since Horizons, Solus Gar has been at the forefront of pushing and tracking member activity. He's worked with the BTLs to ensure that all of their members were getting helped, arranging for support where a member needed it and wasn't receiving it. He's the one who worked to make sure that the entire extended Summit lived up to their commitment for full participation.
He spent countless hours poring over the fleet spreadsheets, ensuring that every point earned by member participation was utilized to the maximum. He worked with me to ensure that members got a deserving thanks for their participation in Beyond the Horizons and in the first two rounds of the Dark Crusade. He worked to optimize the Plagueis wiki pages to reflect the turning of Plagueis into the House of the Dread Lord, ensuring that not only did the pages speak of quality, but also reflected the vision of a darker, more malicious Plagueis, twisted by its exposure to the Dark Side.
He has always been there for the members, encouraging, supporting, reviewing, editing, etc. His attention to detail, focus and dedication have helped Plagueis to raise the bar on what an entry means.
He led the two first place Plagueis run-on Teams (Prologue and Phase II), serving as both plot maestro and editor in chief. He worked diligently on the first place Plagueis Wiki Team in Phase I of the Dark Crusade, serving as wiki captain to guarantee that polished feel that all of his excellent wiki work has.
He has earned multiple placements of Gold Novae, as well as top five finishes. He's earned a ridiculous number of Crescents of Fire, so much so that he qualified for GMRG X and the Gaming Sage.
His tenure as Aedile, while short, was highly productive. He spent it working on member retention, motivation, inspiration, and ethical instillment. He worked to show that every entry counted, not only by doing, but by showing the members the math of how their input counted. Every step they made was in part encouraged or inspired by every step he made.
Solus Gar is a member that does more than just speak out; he puts his money where his mouth is and demonstrates that everything he asks for, he's willing to do, and more.
He's a valued member who deserves this award as recognition for the time, effort, and selfless devotion to Plagueis that few have truly shown.
It's my honor to honor him and his work with this medal. May it be only the latest in his long and well medaled history of hard work.
OE Tra'an Reith, Quaestor of House Plagueis
It has been good to work alongside Solus, one of the House's strongest and most productive engines. The collection of awards he's gathered in the past six months continues to testify to his ability to compete at the highest levels of the Brotherhood -- but what caught my attention more was his attention to his House, enabling the other members of the Summit to continue their diligent attention towards the members with well-organized tracking documents.
From the streamlined road to Knighthood that has helped me provide a smoother, more direct line to Knight for new Journeymen to the internal activity trackers we've used in Horizons and Dark Crusade, and to the directed and detailed work he's given to Plagueis's wiki assets, military forces, and fictional identity, Solus's mark on this House has been well-built and well-earned, and will not quickly fade. I'm proud to be a part of recognizing his work in Plagueis.
