Primary reason

Scelestus has been a fount of activity over his DB career in nearly every platform that DB has to offer: Shadow Academy, Fiction, Run-On, TOR & Diablo, etc. None of it has been in a war yet, during a much more slower period, which shows that he is self-motivated to be active. Since he was elevated to DJK, he has participated in over a dozen competitions and has earned a Steel Cross, Anteian Cross, and Dark Cross for his merits and activity as well as x2 Diamond Stars, several Amethyst, Topaz, Quartz, and a bajillion Clusters of Fire (nearly 700 total), all earned through playing games with fellow Brotherhood members. On his own time (before M:HM), he dedicated himself to taking a dozen SA exams that have earned him a Dark Maven in Combat and Philosophy.

During the War of the Three Families, Scelestus participated in most of the events, mostly on his own without direction and came in fourth place, beating out many of our veteran members with some great entries. After the feud, Scelestus began seeking leadership positions and was initially turned down. This, however, did not stop him. He saw it as a challenge, and an opportunity to learn. He asked for opinions and advice, asked for help, started taking on more selfless tasks, working harder and setting more examples.

Even though he was not team leader, Scelestus was an integral part of his team for Project Redacted for House Qel-Droma, which was a group project designed to rewrite House Qel-Droma's fictional history. He provided the proposal for his team and a great deal of the excellent background writing for it. He was awarded an Anteian Cross for his efforts.

After Redacted, Scelestus was awarded with the title and position of Battleteam Leader of Shadow Gate. Scelestus jumped in head-first and immediately got in contact with his team through email to see what his members were interested in doing and sending out a BTL report. During his BTL tenure the clan launched Operation Rolling Thunder, a four-week series of competitions designed to simulate a war but on a smaller scale. Scelestus participated in over a dozen events and rivaled the top placers with several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, coming in 3rd overall (only a 6 point difference between 2nd and 3rd place!), while also pushing his Battleteam to participate in several emails and on IRC, helping to bring the Operation to a success.

After ORT, Scelestus was elevated to the position of my Aedile when I became Quaestor. He was still considered a little "new" to DB, so I felt that I was going to need to teach him a lot of aspects of House leadership. Fortunately, Scelestus took right to this position as easily as he had Battleteam Leader. He is constantly asking me and the Summit for things to do and takes the initiative quite a bit, releasing his own reports and then recently assisting me on my own QUA report. He has provided feedback and advice for many members on their competition ideas and competition submissions as well as ACC posts for several members even though he himself isn't qualified yet. He has run two clan-wide competitions during his tenure, a fiction comp regarding lightsaber crystals and a second curious one, called "Summit for a Day" in which members can offer advice and suggestions on how to improve House Qel-Droma.

After ORT, Scelestus participated in the Brother-wide Debate Tournament, going up against the legendary Legorii and coming out on top, landing himself his very first 1st level Diamond Star. He also recently received another for achieving first place in the [FIST] Diablo 3 - To Hell and Back competition. On top of this, Scelestus managed 100% participation in the weekly Dozens of Games competition run by Andrelious that ran for several months, earning him weekly medals as well as the grand prize at the very end for coming out as 1st place. Even though the games themselves were fairly easy, the competition he was up against was not, and only through dedication was he able to finally clinch the title after months of participating in this highly competitive ladder.

During the recent Trials of Loyalty clan event, Scelestus assisted me in personally emailing every member of the House to drum up activity. His efforts were rewarded with numerous Qel-Droma members signing up for the event and participating. He himself had near-perfect participation in all of the competitions, his team coming in 4th place through only his own efforts after Week 1. His own individual score came up right behind veteran players.

During all of these events, he has been the mentor of Dalen, helping him through his Journeyman trials, who is now the rank of Acolyte. He is also the master to Anigrel, who is now the rank of Jedi Hunter and very close to earning DJK. Scelestus has also been an SA Professor for Basic Studies and is now the Magistrate to the Headmaster, once again proving his will to not only help out his Clan, but the Brotherhood as a whole.

Scelestus came to DB with a decade of experience in another similar club, and has been nothing short of a great boon to us. He has fantastic ideas, a great maturity, is unafraid to share his opinions and thoughts, and clearly, he is an extremely hard worker and has a healthy competitive appetite that can and has motivated others. This recommendation is the least that I can do to show his dedication and our gratitude for all of his efforts. Congratulations!

~Socorra Erinos, Quaestor of House Qel-Droma

Simply put, Scelestus has been a force to be reckoned with. He has a unique ability to be what I call a "cross-over" member - which is to say, he understands both primary factions that make up the DB- Gamers, and the ones who do everything else. I've yet to go a week without seeing some mob of clusters of fire in my inbox with Scelestus' name attached to them. It's either that, or a passing exam notification from the SA also with his name as the subject. Scelestus is one of those rare members that does it all. And well. He has taken up a position with the Shadow Academy and has already helped with improving the office. He has taken on revamping the Arconan History exam, which can be a bit arduous considering the nature of the "Shadow Clan" and that it requires a lot of digging to make sure things are kept accurately. He is always asking questions, always looking for ways to help, always striving to better himself and those around him. I scoped him out back in January when he applied for a job he would not get (a BTL position at the time), but what he said stuck with me. "I wanted to try anyway." That's a mentality that if more DBers had, it would be a better club in general. There is something endearing about it, and it's one of the things I've always liked about Scelestus. It is a pleasure, and an honor to have him as a member of my summit, first as a BTL and now as one of my Aediles. I have no doubt that he will continue on his path to greatness, and will no doubt continue to have a promising career.

With that said, I am more than comfortable having Scelestus join us in the rank of Equites.

Congrats, buddy, you deserve it! I know working for me can be a bit tough at times, but you're doing an amazing job. Keep it up ;).

-Marick Arconae Proconsul, Clan Arcona

I write this recommendation not as Scelestus’ Quaestor, Consul, or master - all typical roles for recommending leaders. Rather, I write this as his chief rival and competitor, and the highest praise I can bestow upon him is that I am often chasing his heels, striving to keep pace with him in all manner of Clan events and competitions. Scelestus was my BTL in Qel-Droma, and our heated competition led each of us to strive for new heights, and his shining example led the entire team to work harder during the time he spent as its leader.

After both of us were shipped out to be Aediles, our rivalry only intensified. Scelestus has already become a very capable leader in Arcona, and his infectious attitude and determination to improve his House and Clan has certainly bettered his Clanmates. What makes him so special, however, is not dominance in any one area of the Brotherhood, but rather, excellence in many areas - gaming and the Shadow Academy being two examples. Competing with Scelestus has been a challenging and humbling experience for me, and I am honored to serve beside him in Arcona.

-Legorii Kryotek Entar, Aedile of House Galeres

It is time to promote one of the most persistently active members of Arcona. For the past year Scelestus has shown himself to be one of the most extraordinary new members the Shadow Clan has enjoyed. He has gained a bevy of merit awards for his activity, hundreds of Clusters of Fire for gaming, and has beaten the Shadow Academy to a pulp to such a degree that they're now asking him to improve their courses for them.

His dedicated competition activity is equally impressive. I have not yet had the pleasure of encountering him in a full Vendetta, but he managed an impressive fourth place in the War of the Three Families, and then beat that performance by managing third place in the high-activity Operation Rolling Thunder. As an encore, he also won the first Brotherhood Debate Championship.

Then, there's his leadership. Starting out as a Battleteam Leader in Shadow Gate, he immediately contacted all members and got them active during a competition. When Invictus retired from Quaestor, he had shown himself so skilled at the job that he was tapped to take over as Aedile, a position he has since excelled in.

What more can I say about Scelestus? He's active, he's a great leader and an exceptional new member, whose talents encompass the entire spectrum of Brotherhood activity. The standard to which every other newbie should be held. For that, he more than deserves a promotion.

-Timeros Arconae, Rollmaster Arcona

Scelestus has been a dynamite addition to the Shadow Academy Staff. First appointed Professor of General Studies, he was then selected as Magistrate and placed in charge of auditing every single exam in the Academy's repertoire. Since his appointment, he has audited the Clan History Department and is not slowing down.

It is essential to the Shadow Academy that we have strong, present, and consistent mentors, and Scelestus sets the bar high for his successors. I am very grateful to have him on my team. His promotion is well-earned.

~Ronovi Tavisaen Dupar, Headmaster of the Shadow Academy

Since his promotion to Dark Jedi Knight, Scelestus has continued to impress with his activity level. Whilst I myself do not play The Old Republic, I am told that he is one of the more active members in this facet of the Brotherhood, as can be seen from the vast number of Clusters of Fire he has received.

Furthermore, I am aware he has done a great deal of work in the Shadow Academy, improving many exams with his audit work, whilst acting as Professor of the Clan Histories department.

His activity in other competitions has also been outstanding – I needn’t go into the vast list of awards he has received for the sake of not repeating what my colleagues have already said, but I will add that he fought tooth and nail in the Dozen of Games competition that I ran, his 100% participation record eventually proving enough to take victory. That alone is worthy of congratulations.

Welcome to the Equites, Priest Scelestus!

-Andrelious J. Inahj, Gatewarden of Shadow Gate

Often members make it to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, fewer still make it to the rank of Equite one. I am proud to be writing this recommendation for Scelestus to be promoted from Dark Jedi Knight to the rank of Equite one for his hard work and dedication to Clan Arcona. He has been working hard and proving that he is ready for this step into the Equite’s.

His hard work as Aedile of House Qel-Droma has not gone unnoticed, as well as his consistence presence on IRC. He is a inspiration to the members not only inside of the house, but inside of the clan. His activity is at a high level and he is a constant inspiration to the new members of our Clan. His participation in Trials of Loyalty was to a high level of participation taking his team to third place overall, and having himself come sixth in the individual placing.

I am sure everyone else has already stated how much of an impact inside and outside of the clan this man has had. He is constantly looking at ways of helping others and is always putting one hundred per cent into anything he does.

Overall with the hard work that Scelestus has been doing for the clan, I am proud to be writing this recommendation for promotion. He has proven herself more than deserving of it and continues to work hard. Congratulations Scelestus on reaching the rank of Equite One, keep up the hard work.
