Orv is probably the last great hope the DB has to ever realising the dream of an up to date PHP site that isn’t an idiosyncratic amalgamation of tens of coders from different corners of the earth, each with nigh indecipherable coding styles. He is doing the work of an entire professional team and once more, he seems enthusiastic about it, which is staggering when one takes into account the sheer monotony of the task before him: re-coding thousands upon thousands of lines of code so that the overall appearance of the site doesn’t change much. It’s a thankless job, demonstrably as the vast majority of the membership will never know the difference, yet it is necessary. Orv, as I’ve said, is our last hope to have an up-to-date site, but he’s also our last great coder. This man should not be overlooked for anything, as we need to let him know he’s appreciated.

Almost every coder I know is a cantankerous egomaniac that, due to the stressful nature of their occupation, is not pleasant to speak to. I include members of my RL family in this description. Orv is the antithesis of this preconception. He is always demure, polite, easy –going and unaffected by the BS infighting that litters the DB. He is a brilliant example of what every member should aspire to be. Good on ya, Orv. ~Sashar Arconae, Consul of Arcona

Orv has been SCL for around a year now, and in that time his tenure has affected the Brotherhood at large in many ways. As a former member of Arcona, I was well aware of his skill as a coder long before he hit the DC, but non-the-less wasn't surprised when he was appointed after Jac stepped down. He's had to deal with a wide range of problems since then, including the ever famous crashes of late 2008-early 2009. He handled all of these swiftly and let us at the Shadow Academy get back to business as usual. From this he's taken it upon himself to start re-coding the entire site as he goes along into PHP. With all the bugs aside, Orv continues to bring the Brotherhood new and exciting ways of enjoying what we like doing best, and that's nerding it up. Every idea whether it be from a Battle Team Leader, or the Headmaster, has to eventually go through the SCL and his staff to be implemented. For his work as SCL over the last year, I'm happy to add in on Orv's promotion to third rank in the Equates. Congratulations. ~ Taigikori Aybara Dupar, Praetor to the Headmaster

What can I say about Orv that hasn’t already been said by everyone else here? His dedication to maintaining and upgrading the DB site is beyond contest, his work his more than impressive and he seems to get some of the greatest feats accomplished with ease and time to spare. He has worked on many projects that others have looked at and placed on the back burner, while still managing to have time for the little issues that need resolving, (i.e. helping me with an issue with HRLD uploads).

He has been focused, dedicated, and more visual than many Seneschals I have seen. He is constantly updating the DB as to his status on things, looking to make improvements without someone asking him to do so and has performed his duties above and beyond the call. I believe for the amount of work he has done and for his steadfast dedication towards improving the Brotherhood in general, Orv deserves the rank of Krath Epis. Congratulations! ~Shikyo Keibatsu, Herald of the Brotherhood I had the honor to work with Orv on several coding projects for the DJB and I can safely say he is an excellent programmer, team manager, and DJB member, who dedicates so much time to this club that it's almost unhealthy. Now Orv is leading a team of coders into a task many have tried and failed before: recoding our website to PHP. Orv has already done so much with this project that for the first time we can actually hope that we will have a better, faster and more secure website done in PHP. For taking on a titanic job, leading a small team with excellent management skills, and for his day-to-day contributions to the DJB, I believe Orv thoroughly deserves a promotion. Congratulations. ~Karel Tarentae

I'd like to thank Orv personally for his work in the Brotherhood. Someone who combines maturity, good humor, and talent all in an easy-going nature is a rare thing in life. In this club, rarer still. So I appreciate not only Orv's work but his attitude as well. As far as I've seen it's a model for new members and a reminder for seasoned ones as well. I've been fortunate to work with Orv during the Ninth Great Jedi War and his work then as Seneschal was as timely and fantastic as it is now.

But Orv's talents stand out as much as his congenial nature and are deserving of their own mention. As a member I am thankful for his work on the Clan Force Powers. I look forward to getting to use that system. The PHP re-code is a massive, but necessary, task many would probably not accept and would prefer to operate in the status quo. The Robe & Saber selector improvements are most welcome. No longer do my custom items disappear when wanting to try out something new from the Herald. And I greatly look forward to the possession system of which Orv is an enormous part.

I also have to mention Orv's fantastic artwork he shares with many members of his clan and a few lucky others. They are great original pieces that really add something to the otherwise bland tapestry here of repetitively poached artwork. It's amazing to see someone so gifted and capable spend their free time here with us, but we are fortunate he does. Very few members have contributed to the welfare of the club as Orv has done and fewer still are so deserving of this small honor on our part.

Please elevate this outstanding member of the club to the next level so he will be that much closer to the ranks of the Elders where he belongs. ~Raken, Quaestor of Revan

Over the last few weeks, I have seen a lot of things getting ramped up. One of the people that has been instrumental in this is Orv, our resident Seneschal and Code-God. His work has been spectacular in not only actually facilitating the conversion of our site to php (heck, in the last two weeks, he redid the saber and robe scripts to convert them in an evening), but he's also found the time to work up a site for the RoS and help me sort out how we're going to do match reporting and even help out with some really cool stuff for the Background of the RoS. His work has been constant and very high quality...and I am more than happy to be able to promote Orv to his next rank. Congratulations on your elevation, Orv. ~Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith.
