Dalthid was promoted by Jac in the 8/1/2005 edition of the Dark Voice newsletter. His article is as follows, below which are several other recommendations for his promotion.
Dark Hall, Antei
In an extravagant ceremony conducted by Grand Master Jac Cotelin, the Dark Brotherhoods Combat Master, Dalthid, was elevated to the rank of Dark Side Adept. The Dark Voice has learned that the preparations for Dalthids Elevation have been under way for some time. It is rumored that the Grand Master received many personal recommendations for the promotion.
Among those in attendance was Dark Adept Halcyon, Consul of Arcona. He praised his Proconsul and applauded the elevation in rank. "[Dalthids] actions speak for themselves and his worth to be an Elder." The Consul spoke of Dalthids accomplishments both in Arcona and in the Antei Combat Centre. "Dalthid has touched every aspect possible in the Dark Brotherhood."
During the ceremony, Lord Cotelin spoke of the state within the Combat Centre and complimented the new Adept on his endeavors there. "I have seen many Combat Masters come and go. Dalthid, you are among the finest yet. "
In a showing of solidarity and support of their leader, all of the trainers and judges from the Combat Centre were in attendance. The Dark Voice staff joins them in congratulating the new Dark Side Adept.
Dalthid has touched every aspect possible in the Dark Brotherhood that
he can, ranging from being personally active to forging one of the
most popular activities in the Brotherhood.
As an individual, Dalthid has always been one of the most active
members of the clans he has participated for. He can be found both
playing online games as well as busy competing (and winning) fiction
competitions.
He has also always been willing to help out other members of the Dark
Brotherhood, creating numerous personal banners as well as the odd
lightsaber. Even when not in Arcona, he helped create a website for
one of its houses and has always been there to help when needed.
His largest accomplishment however has been making the ACC one of the
premier forms of activity in the DB, putting together an active and
hardworking team that does its job in a timely manner. He has backed
up his talk by re-working and expanding the rules and information that
can be found within the ACC, while streamlining how one can both join
and learn in the ACC. His ideas are implemented instead of being
talked abount endlessly, and he is constantly pushing those around him
to do their all towards a common goal.
There is no question as to his worth in the Brotherhood, his
experience both wideranging and successful. He does what he sets out
to do, pushing ahead and finding ways to make things happen. His
actions speak for themselves and his worth to be an Elder.
DA Halcyon Rokir Arconae (Sith)/P:CM-CON-EP/Clan Arcona [ACC: P:CM]
A brief introduction, my name is M'Kel Kahn, Krath Priest of Clan
Plagueis, House Satal Keto. I started my life in the Dark Brotherhood
under the leadership of one Gord Darkonian (CON) and one Dalthid
(PCON). At that time, I very nearly left my clan for better
instruction before being taken under the wing of Master Dalthid. I've
worked as closely as anyone, I suspect, with Dalthid over the last two
years and I can't overstate his accomplishments over that period of
time. His work on the history of our clan and the work he's done in
the clans he's joined since leaving CSK has been fantastic, but the
contributions most notable of late have been his efforts as our latest
Combat Master.
Combat Master Dalthid has re-reviewed and updated the great work of
our previous CM's. He's worked hard to move the ACC Live project
forward to create a Real Time forum for the ACC that is fun to use and
helps to, again, bridge the gap between those who choose to write and
those who choose to game.
In short, Dalthid's work both in the ACC and outside of it has been
inspirational. His DarkJediCrypt site is a great resource for any
member and he's been a great asset to this club. I firmly agree with
the recommendation that Dalthid be elevated to the rank of Dark Adept.
KP M'Kel Kahn (Krath)/Satal Keto of Plagueis [ACC: M:CM]
"Dalthid is a man that needs no introduction and if I tried to give
him a flowery presentation then chances are he wouldn't appreciate it.
Since being appointed Senior Operator in the ACC and during my times
as a staff member, I've worked closely with Dalthid and several
previous Combat Masters. Of all of them, the current sticks out the
most in my mind. Not simply because he's a great writer, or a good
guy, or an active member. It's because of his love of the Combat
Centre, his dedication to his work and efforts to make his domain as
good as it can be.
Although the two of us often do not see eye to eye on many issues and
our relationship has ranged from hostile to friendly, sometimes in a
matter of hours, Dalthid deserves a reward for all he does. As his
Quaestor, I saw good work from him, even though he was often busy with
the ACC. Now that he has taken up the role of Proconsul of Arcona, I
can tell he'll do even better work in the future. He's experienced,
great, and worthy of a promotion to Dark Side Adept. Cheers, Dal.
