The definition for a GC implies the circumstances under which one can be awarded. "Service to one's Clan in areas meant to encourage competition and interaction between members." Under these definitions it is only fair to send out this request. An inspirational leader who goes out time and time again to prove his dedication to the Clan by performing in each week's ICTE and any other gaming tournie that might be going. Recently he and a small staff took it upon themselves to update and upgrade the House website pulling off a decent job at giving the House a home on the internet. Frosty, you deserve this. ~Welsh

Ever since he joined, Frosty has been very active in encouraging members to be active. As QUA, Frosty has led by example, being active in many competitions; he participated in the recent clan competition. He has created competitions for his house and he has run those competitions effectively. Frosty has also been active in IRC and the e-mail lists and he has used these mediums to be an overall effective Quaestor. He also created a website for house Gladius. Frosty is a good leader and a great member of the Brotherhood. Even when real life throws up a hurdle, Frosty makes every effort to continue to do his job as effectively as possible. This is a well deserved award. ~Anshar

Sephiroth is one of those members who has thrown himself into the betterment of the clan and his house. It seems like not a day goes by that I don’t have something in my mailbox from Sephiroth, whether it be an envoy letter or something else to help improve the clan and the Brotherhood as a whole. Sephiroth has suggested, just recently, a clan competition and he will be running it. He has offered suggestions to me and to the Grandmaster on ways to promote the Brotherhood, and he has taken the initial steps to get these things accomplished. Sephiroth is constantly looking for ways to improve himself and the Brotherhood. He applied for the Court of Appeals and, as an Envoy, he has asked me privately to judge how he was doing and to offer my advice.
One of Sephiroth’s great qualities is that, while patient, he does not let you forget. This is an invaluable service to me as Consul, as I am only human and I have a lot of things to do. He is constantly checking the clan website and looking for improvements, and reminding me of various other projects that we have discussed and are in the middle of.
Sephiroth has a high level of activity in the Brotherhood and he has always been working for the improvement of the clan. I recommend him for this Steel Cross because of these things.

~Anshar

Sephiroth has proven himself a ideal member to the Clan recently partaking in many discussions and even volunteering to help with a project aiming to detail the Clan's history. This effort to better the clan for other members proves the loyalty and dedication evident in Sephiroth's commitment to the Clan, a dedication further deepened by his recent excellent form in the Clan Competition. ~Welsh

Primary reason

MERLANCE is a senior member of the clan who has been of assistance to me and others in the clan. MERLANCE has, for some time, been in charge of the Clan monthly trivia. While he does not always create it, he is the one who ensures that the trivia gets done, that it is available to members of the clan, and that the award recommendations are put in at the end of the month. MERLANCE has also spoken directly with me about improvements for the clan, and specifically for his house. He also participated in the most recent clan competition. The steel cross is defined in the Codex as being awarded for “Extended service to one's House or Clan. Service includes aiding one's Quaestor or the Aedile with his duties in leading the House or Clan or being a role model for other members to follow.” MERLANCE has offered long term service to this clan and his house and he has aided the summit members in their duties, from running the trivia to getting the medals taken care of to serving as an advisor to the summit. ~Anshar

MERLANCE has shown considerable dedication as a member of Tridens, always encouraging and friendly, encouraging his members to go forth and participate in events. Under his leadership the circle of Nightstalkers has been born with a strong sense of identity and friendship. MERLANCE's great attitude and approachable IRC presence along with activity in recent competitions makes him more then worthy for this award. ~Welsh

Primary reason

With this particular recommendation, one that I take a great deal of pleasure in writing, it is hard to know where to start. But, I will do my best. I have always said that it is never easy on my assistants, as I do a lot of work myself. But Welshman has stepped up the plate and worked hard no matter what, and he has been a great asset to his clan, and a great assistant.

I got to know Welshman back when Tarentum switched to the multi-order system and he became my Aedile. He and I got along very well, and he took on his share of the burden of running the new house Gladius. He helped keep the house active, filled in for me when I was on leave, and he became a valuable, and virtually indispensable, advisor and friend. When I stepped down from Quaestor, and then moved up to PCON, I knew that the house was in good hands.

Welshman proved himself a competent and excellent Quaestor. He continued what I had put in place, but he added his own touches to it, improving where he could. He ran competitions and helped design clan competitions. Welshman remained an advisor to me and a friend as well. When I moved up to Consul, there was little doubt that Welshman would be my Proconsul. His Aedile, whom Welshman had selected and helped train for the job, is still the Quaestor of Gladius to this day, thus showing how good of a job he did in doing in preparing and training the next leader.

As Proconsul, Welshman has become my go to guy in the clan. Award recommendations, commenting on the status of the clan as a whole and individual members, and helping me select leaders and plan competitions are just a good summary of what he has done. Welshman also took over running the master-student program as proconsul, keeping records of the master-student pairings and working to match people up. Welshman has also been charged with ensuring that all Trials for Knighthood operate well and he has also done this.

Welshman is a friendly, helpful, and active member of this clan. He constantly leads in word and deed. I have seen Welshman grow into his role in the clan, one that he has accepted and taken to heart.

When I was looking at his dossier, I was surprised that this had not been awarded a long time ago. It should be noted that Welshman was given the name Tarentae some time ago, a sign of true dedication to the clan. In short, this entire thing can be summed up that Welshman has shown long term dedication and service to the clan. Welshman has performed multiple services for this clan, in a variety of positions, over a long period of time. It is with great pleasure that I present him with this Sapphire Blade. ~Anshar

Primary reason

I am honored to request the promotion of SBL Vessicant. Vessicant has earned the right to enter the final tier of the Equite class through his hard work and dedication. His understanding of the Dark Side and the Force has matured to the level where he understands that his Clan and Order are larger than his personal desires.

Over the past one year and eleven months Vessicant has contributed to the development of the Dark Brotherhood, Clan Plagueis, and House Exar Kun. His work as an ACC trainer has been nothing short of spectacular. He has trained 91 members in ACC matches at the Proving and Training Grounds. His thought out guidance and instruction of ACC combatants has improved the standard of incoming initiates and has improved the overall ACC. In addition to the training of new members in the ACC, Vessicant also created an ACC Trainer guide that is now being finalized by the Combat Master. This guide will show future ACC trainers how to properly train and guide new members of the ACC.

Vessicant has also served his Clan and House over the past year. He served as QUA of Kirleta for four months. During this time he improved the activity and morale of his House by creating an ACC guide for the House, training Envoys, and creating the configuration of the House Fighter Wing.

While Vessicant has dedicated the majority of his time over the past year and eleven months to improving other members experiences in the DB through the ACC, he has also found the time to stay active on a personal level. He has fought in the various ACC forums 41 times, earned 13 CFs, competed in the GJW (earned a DC and Bronze Novae), competed in the Independence Games, Competed in Multiple Clan competitions, and competed in multiple House competitions.

Vessicant has served well beyond the capacity of a SBL and is ready to become a Sith Warlord. His contributions to the Dark Brotherhood, ACC, and Clan Plagueis have truly placed him as an elite within our organization.

The Combat Master Adds:

I have always held to the adage that being a Trainer in the ACC is not an easy task. Writing with and trying to help someone who may not know how the ACC works can be trying on patience and even level of desire. Perhaps the most stable ‘core’ staff in the ACC’s history, a lot would be lost without Vessicant. He undertakes more battles, both training and qualification, on a consistent basis than anyone else and he is always striving to improve each combatant. Rarely, if ever, have I seen him give up the instant it became difficult or frustrating, but that’s just his nature. I have had the pleasure of having Vessicant by my side (or at my throat :P) in every position I’ve held in the DB. First in CSK, where he was quick to help in areas where Sith knowledge was needed, taking the pressure off the creation of the Clan’s order of battle that went long untouched till we tackled it. My year as PCON in the Clan would have been utterly unproductive without Vessicant who always jumped in first when something needed his expertise. Second, as time passed, I was lucky to be able to call on him even though our paths had split from the same Clan and led me to the ACC. Because of our ‘history’; he was one of the first hires I made upon my appointment as CM, and it was one of the smartest moves I have ever made. So many people are willing to just go with the flow, but Vessicant’s desire to be ‘better than that’ make him one of the best Trainers on the staff. It’s been a year now and in that year Vessicant has earned himself a Sapphire Blade and a Steel Cross as well as the title of Champion in the ACC. Within his SB-SC time frame (approx.6-7 months ago to present) his contribution of trained and qualified Initiates has easily gone into the hundreds, still maintaining his ‘hardest working trainer’ epithet. His commenting is thorough and his instruction is sound, so much more than just spouting out jargon, he has an honest ‘caring’ for the Initiates. In addition, his contributions to the ACC Compendium are priceless as well. When it comes to ‘specifics’ Vessicant has a very keen eye, which seems to be able to pinpoint the slightest inconsistencies. He has been helpful, in that regard, because it ensures that the Compendium just keeps moving forward to a complete and virtually perfect set of documents. Currently, he is spearheading a Trainer’s Guide to insert into the ACC Staff Handbook. It covers everything from the basics of administration (from a Trainer’s point of view) to “how” to actually explain the ACC’s judging criteria to, even, how to deal with Initiate’s who are not primarily English speaking (which, in itself, is an invaluable piece of guidance). Coupled with my views concerning the ACC staff and their work, is my vision of the ACC as a whole. I have stated, time and again, that this is an extremely unique situation to be in as a staff member. I can think of no other platform in the DB that expressly requires dissolving Clan and Order affiliation in performance of its duties (that involve Clan and Order members directly), while attempting to maintain Clan and Order affiliation as part of those bodies as well. Very often, staff members will see their Clan activity dwindle because of their dedication to the ACC (and, by default, the Brotherhood as a whole) and are often ‘docked’ for that when the idea of promotion rolls around. In my opinion, this promotion has been a long time coming for Vessicant, too long if my vision of the Centre were shared by others. He has repeatedly and consistently proven his dedication to the club through this medium, and I’m hoping, when combined with his Clan recommendations and (perhaps) others, the ‘big picture’ of his work ethic and determination will be realized. It is in that wise that I whole heartedly recommend SBL Vessicant be elevated to the rank of Sith Warlord (SWL). ~DA Dalthid, Combat Master 20060303

I am honored to request the promotion of Dark Jedi Knight Gaidal Dupar al'Tor. Gaidal has earned the right to enter the Equite class through his hard work and dedication. His understanding of the Dark Side of the Force has matured to the level where he understands that his Clan and Order are larger than his personal desires. Since becoming a Dark Jedi Knight five months ago, Gaidal has served as a member of House Exar Kun's summit. He spent two months at the position of AED and then followed that time with two months at QUA. During this period of leadership House Exar completed several large scale projects. These projects included the creation of House Exar Kun's home planet and satelites, the improvement of the House's artifact descriptions, the creation of two Clan Planets, and the creation of Squadron fighter names. Gaidal also ran several competitions that motivated and improved the activity of his House (Almighty Aedile, Returning to Eden, Losing Elysian, Elysian Expedition, Blinding LIght, and Deep Shadows).

In addition to improving his Clan and House, Gaidal found the time to finish first place in DB Wide Competition (Mission Impossible 2), obtain the rank of Neophyte in the ACC, and train Aabsdu to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight.

Gaidal has served well beyond the capacity of a Dark Jedi Knight and is ready to become a Sith Warrior. He has contributed to recent improvement of Clan Plagueis and has distinguished himself amongst his peers. Congrats Gaidal!
