Primary reason

Raiju has been with us in the Scholae Palatinae leadership team for over a year now (1 month BTL, 6 months QUA and 6 months PCON), and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Raiju is an expert in getting the little things done with initiative and speed where many others may let them slip, and keeps the clan running smoothly. Whether it's giving advice to new leaders, updating mailing lists, or maintaining the wiki pages (which he was recently awarded a Dark Side Scroll for as Wikipedian of the Month). Raiju's always there to host / co host competitions in clan events, and contributes a great deal of words to the clan fiction updates that accompany them. Raiju has organised 34 competitions and co-hosted a further 11.

Examples of projects are the Clan Communication Guidelines (1274 words), oversaw input from the summit, and released for public in Proconsul Report #3. Project Krennic, in which a new battleteam was set up in Imperium under his QUAship, For the Pro-Bowl, which generated a huge amount of activity for CSP, Taldryan and Plagueis, Raiju was instrumental in the advertising and planning, notably participating in Plagcast Episode #8, representing CSP and promoting the Pro Bowl. Took roughly 3.5 hours of total prep and recording. Final cut: roughly 2 hrs. When Raiju does something, he does it properly. His reports are extremely detailed, averaging over 3,000 words for each of his Proconsul reports, in addition to the charts, pictures and other non-word items in the report.

Meanwhile, his personal activity record is exceptional, having participated in 160 competitions since his last promotion, earning every crescent available, 10 pendants of blood, 229 Clusters of Fire 56 Clusters of Ice, 173 Clusters of Earth, and 11 Clusters of Graphite.

For everything Raiju has done since his last promotion in 2015, which also covers 6 months as CON, I'm very happy to recommend that Raiju be promoted to Equite 4. Congratulations!

Additional reasons

Raiju Has been an exceptional individual to work with. I have a lot of respect for him, and, often look to him as someone with which I can share ideas. It is with his support that the Proofreaders Mailing list was started, and, himself proofed well over 1500 words (that have been recorded.)

Other than this, he has completed 33 Shadow Academy Courses and garnered 7 degrees. These include Dark Maven - Philosophy, Dark Maven - Combat, Dark Savant - Warfare, Dark Savant - Tactics, Dark Sage - Law, Dark Maven - Lore and finally Dark Savant - Legends. He has completed 9 ACC battles. He has also collected a total of 10 seals (2 Seals of Loyalty and 8 Seals of Wrath.) Raiju also earned himself the title Avatar of Strife for having earned the highest ELO in a quarter in the ACC.

He is a member always striving to do his best, and be his best. Through this drive to better himself and the clan, he encourages others to achieve and drive towards their own goals. I am delighted to add my voice to this recommendation that Raiju be promoted to EQ4.

Mune Cinteroph, 2018-09-03 12:55:26 UTC

Since I joined CSP, Raiju has been a constant and welcoming factor, one of the main causes that I felt right at home. But, before I joined CSP, I worked with him in Tarentum, where we were, unfortunately, remiss in awarding him for his work.

He was assigned as Consul at a difficult time, with a lot of difficult members. However, he managed as well as he could, and he did manage a (albeit brief) improvement in Tarentum. While not everyone was welcoming to him there, it ultimately did not sour him. The same drive he showed in Tarentum, he now puts to work in CSP, and I am very glad to see him now in a role where people do appreciate his hard work.

So, congratulations!

Protein! In the time since Creon's ascension to knighthood, he has proven himself a truly valuable member of the Brotherhood. In terms of activity, Creon is a jack of all trades who's sampled everything the club has to offer. As a gamer, he's earned a Pendant of Blood, 25 Clusters of Fire, and 10 Clusters of Earth. He's dipped his toes into the art world, earning 4 Clusters of Graphite. But where Creon is most at home are the worlds of fiction and the Shadow Academy. I'll let Atra and Seraphol detail his relevant service below, but in his capacity as a regular member Creon's participation in both arenas has been excellent. He has passed 33 SA courses and earned 10 degrees, up to and including a Dark Sage. As a writer, Creon has completed 10 ACC matches and earned 41 Clusters of Ice. In total, he has participated in 42 competitions and won himself 12 crescents, including two with ruby stars.

I'll leave it to his bosses to describe his contributions in detail, but suffice it to say, Creon is not content to merely consume. He has organized four competitions himself and served in clan leadership, the ACC staff, and the Shadow Academy.

Creon, we're delighted to have you with us. Here's to a long and prosperous career as an equite!

Additional reasons

Since his last promotion, Creon has been a consistent presence among ACC staff. While the waters have not always been calm, and the path not always straight, Creon has maintained an unwavering commitment to being the best judge he can be. This involves admitting mistakes just as readily as offering up his own victories. The greatest strength he brings is his personality. Creon exudes excitement and that can be infectious for everyone involved.

In hard numbers, Creon has 6 judgements to his name all the while participating in 9 of his won. The fact that he participates more than he grades shows his commitment to the ACC staff. I'm sure he brings that same commitment to his clan and his infectious attitude to his peers. At the same time, he has been an active voice in planning, all around discussions, and assisting with perspective on peer judgements. I'm happy to see his performance growing alongside his confidence and his desire to continue performing in the greater club. For that, I am more than willing to put forth my recommendation for Creon's promotion and consider it well earned.

"PROTEIN!" At least that is what I imagine the translator will say when I state how proud I am of Creon and all he has done since becoming a Knight. He is active in the DB writing community, a contributor to the ACC community, a fun and helpful presence in Odan-Urr chats, and an active participant in our clan events. My favorites are the random times he sagely answers people with the word 'Protein' and it happens to fit perfectly. As a newer member to the clan, his actions and efforts everyday speaks to his dedication and commitment to the club that goes beyond a pure consumer. He also served time in the past as BTL and Aedile, so this wonderful trend is much more than a simple fad.

Given his service to the DB in so many facets, his leadership time, and his actions in COU since joining us, I am proud to recommend that Creon join the Equites. Make sure you pack extra protein. You'll need it for the extra Equite workouts. :)

Since joining the SA as PROF of Legends, Creon has graded a total of 158 exams. With each exam where the student has lost points he offers constructive criticism to the students and helps them find the answer for themselves. Beyond this he has reached out to me in the creation of a possible 3 more courses in the Legends Hall to cover the last bits of material before nuCanon.

Congratulations Creon, and welcome to the Equites!

Years ago, a Dark Jedi Knight approached me, asking how he could eventually reach EQ3, considering he never expected to serve as Aedile, yet the promotion guidelines stated that was needed. Now, here we are. His expectation was right, he so far has not yet served as Aedile, but not because of a lack of skill! He is more comfortable as BTL, which I only applaud. However, he did reach EQ2.

That alone would already say a lot about him. However, today I want to go a step further. I fully see him ready for yet another promotion. Since his last promotion, he has been busy, to say the least. He proofread more then 7500 words of fiction. He assisted the Voice with the Character Creation Guide rewrite in a major way, participated in more events then would be decent to write out, as the total is over a 100, scoring 2 gold novae, 1 Diamond Crescent, and 6 Ruby Crescents along the way, and wrote almost 25000 words of fiction. Let that number sink in for a bit: 25000. I have heard of thesises that had less then that.

Besides all that, he has been an excellent Battleteam Leader, who is doing his best to motivate his team, and prepare them for upcoming events. He might not have have served higher then that, but I do believe he more then earned this promotion.

Congratulations, Reiden!

Additional reasons

I remember the few times Reiden would talk about how he thought he'd never get to EQ 3, and I must say, I am very proud t prove him wrong. Reiden has been a very dedicated member in CSP, and has gone far and beyond helping with projects, taking part in various comps, and even helping out others within the clan. Reiden was a golden star for Scholae Palatinae in the Pro Bowl 3 games, and has proven that he can be unstoppable when he puts his mind to it. Especially at puzzles. He has placed in various competitions and events, serving as a shooting star of inspiration to others. He truly represents the spirit of Scholae Palatinae, and I am very honored to see him rise up to EQ 3.

Congratulations, Reiden! May you continue to shine for all to see.

Shadow Nighthunter

Aedile of House Imperium

Blade Mistress Shadow Nighthunter, 2018-09-05 14:45:43 UTC

It is a great pleasure to be able to create this recommendation to recognize Reiden Palpatine Karr for his activity since his last promotion. What is most delightful about this is how it is likely to be completely out of left field for him, however I’m happy to argue why he is ready for promotion - even if that needs to be for him. Reiden is by far one of CSP’s most indispensable members, I have a core group that comes to mind that I think of Scholae Palatinae and Reiden is easily in the top five on that list. Not only are we lucky to have such an indispensable member but we are doubly lucky to have him in a positioned role as well; in fact, on a personal level, I’ve found that Reiden has been the most indispensable member of Imperium both in his role as Battleteam Leader and before as a member. His commitment to our causes, dedication as a regular active member, and his growing voice as an advisor is actually the kind of thing Imperium needed most over this past year has contributed to the growth of his Battleteam, House Imperium, and in turn the clan. Over the past 16 months he's done amazing work as a leader, project coordinator, and content generator for our Clan - especially for Krennic & Imperium. Beyond that, he's been an amazing member from the perspective of personal activity and it is my strong belief he is ready for elevation to Equite 3.

As an explanation of my belief, I see Reiden’s activity as having three separate categories; personal activity, projects, & leadership activity. When it comes to personal activity, Reiden has participated in 109 competitions, while co-organizing 22, earned 32 crescents, completed 13 PvP matches, 8 PVE activities, 1 ACC battle, 12 other fiction activities, 24647 words of fiction, completed 6 SA courses and 1 degree, while making 5 reports or newspots and 5 comments on the website. In addition, since he was last promoted he’s earned 1 Grand Cross, 2 Gold Nova, 5 PoB, 46 Clusters of fire, 57 cluster of ice, 27 cluster of graphite, and 14 seal of wrath. However, in addition to these statistics, I’d like to further draw attention to some notable achievements Reiden has made. In addition to the competitions he’s competed in, he has also had 11 1st-place finishes, 14 2nd-place finishes, and 6 3rd-place finishes from these entries. This isn’t surprising as Reiden always throws his all into a submission to make sure it is of great and competitive quality - often being counted on for his Puzzle mastery. Additionally, Reiden is a well rounded member who competes in most of the DB activities, from fiction, to misc-events, to gaming and ACC activities whenever possible - having been a major role model for all to get out and try new things. Often I find myself having to encourage junior leaders to not forget about their own personal activity once they are positioned - yet, even before I was Proconsul and was Quaestor to Reiden, I’ve never once had to concern myself if he was being active and setting a good example - as Reiden is easily our clans most active member and has always been at the front of Scholae Palatinae’s activity for as long as I can remember. Truly, CSP is blessed by his presence on this front.

In addition to the personal activity, as the second category I mentioned above, Reiden has been instrumental to the Clan’s development as a community through his project work. Reiden has often been the first to step up to help out with any clan projects especially if we are struggling for volunteer. Very often, Reiden puts the clan first - himself last; making sure that want needs to get done is being done. Whether it has been actively involved in navigating the military purchase discussion, co-running competitions to canonize aspects of our new world and seeing these uploaded to the wiki, or being a sounding board for the clan’s discussions; Reiden has always been one of the first involved and this is something I definitely appreciate. He’s become an advisor to me, whether he knows it or not, as his reasoning is sound and he isn’t afraid to share his opinion. This has been prevalent in our discussions regarding the clan land grant project, where Reiden has been one of the more active members in the discussions (second only to Kadrol) and has helped shared the entire project. Furthermore, this input of his has been most beneficial for our discussion on leadership strategies, especially the BT Redevelopment project, whether it be on the improvements for the Battleteams, his House, or the clan as a whole; he hasn’t shied away from duty. In addition, Reiden has been an active participant in our CSP Proofreaders project, having proof a total of 8155 words over the course of the project. Furthermore, as Marick will likely add to in his recommendation, Reiden has had involvement with the Character Creaiton Guide re-write that the Voice office spearheaded, showing that Reiden has contributed to project work outside of the clan as well as within it.

Finally, in terms of positioned leadership, for over seven months Reiden took his team from foundation done by Wagglehorn and myself and has been serving as the Battleteam leader of Krennic. From this position, Reiden has contributed and developed the growing war machine that is Imperium and kept it’s momentum going. As his main resource, regular communication, Reiden has kept his unit informed through regular monthly reports, daily use of telegram, and promotion of the Battleteam’s and House’s channel. In addition, he has been a regular contributor to summit discussions on both the House and Clan levels, helped organize our clan discussions, and managed and aligned his Battleteam’s goals with that of the units above to insure a consistency of services while focusing on making Krennic it’s own community within the house and clan. Furthermore, Reiden on a daily basis acts a rolemodel for all - whether it be through his personal activity or through his daily communication on our channels; not one is more active. And this as even developed in Reiden taking a leadership role in the channels, mediating issues, warning those that spam the channels, or talking to those that potential bring negative attitudes to the clan community. For someone who hates to think of himself as a leader in our community, Reiden is nearly a perfect example of what we want to see in our next generation of leaders - if only we could give him some more self-confidence and belief in himself like he does for others :D

Finally, in terms of personal thanks, it has been awesome to see just how well Reiden has jumped into the leadership life within the Brotherhood. Though I know he hasn’t had high ambitions in terms of DJB positions, noting many times to the rest of the summit he doesn’t want to advance past Battleteam leader, Reiden has all the markings of a grand leader. Whether he wishes to continue to use that on a close knit team or larger scale; he will better whatever unit he choses to lead and I’m appreciative of how much he does for Krennic as well as his work outside of that unit. I look at Reiden of a shining example of someone taking the roles and opportunities seriously to develop a positive community that others want to be a part of. Reiden genuinely cares for the people under his charge and actively looks to take care of them - whether it be through the communication methods used above or in conversations with the clan summit and our planning; he is always been focused on making his community the best it came be. I’m glad to add my support to this recommendation to recognize the efforts of a great member, leader, and friend. Congrats Reiden, you’ve earned this.

Belarius Pwyll

Proconsul of Clan Scholae Palatinae

Raiju, 2018-09-05 21:48:46 UTC

The club has many talented people at many things, but I don't quite think anyone in the club is as good at anything as Reiden is at puzzles, taking two gold nova in the GJW, miles ahead of the rest of the field. The purpose of a DB wide puzzle competition is to find out who comes second after Reiden.

For one of the most active members of Scholae Palatinae over many years, a reliable source of activity, a points-winner in vendettas, and recently a leader, I think Reiden for everything he's done and congratulate him on this hard earned promotion.
