Primary reason

Darkblade has spent the last 9 months, serving as Quaestor of House Shar Dakhan. While doing this, he has run 22 competitions, which had a combined total of 148 participants. That's almost 7 entries per competition.

Darkblade has also participated in 86 competitions, which garnered him 5 Crescents with Ruby Star, 10 Crescents with Amethyst Star, 5 Crescents with Sapphire Star and 1 Crescent with Emerald Star.

He has also earned a Grand Cross for his work as Quaestor over the past few months, as well as a Steel Cross and an Anteian Cross.

Darkblade has also worked as a Professor in the Shadow Academy, overseeing the Novitiate Hall for 8 months, where he was one of the first to complete the audit of the Shadow Academy's departments that led to the eventual restructure of the Shadow Academy that saw Darkblade lose his position. While there, Darkblade earned 3 Scrolls of Foundation.

Darkblade is also a force in gaming, earning 10 Pendants of Blood, 75 Clusters of Fire and 392 Clusters of Earth. DB has undertaken creating fictional story lines and pieces of work for his House, despite claiming he's rubbish at such things, having written 11,446 words in various fictions in competitions and event fiction for House events. Combine this with 4,188 words written for Run Ons, earning a total of 35 Clusters of Ice and Darkblade shows why Locke hired him as Quaestor. He leads from the front, demands the best from his members and provides them with opportunities to excel and have fun, all the while overcoming his weaknesses.

His time with us as a Savant has seen Darkblade be rewarded for a massive edit of CNS wiki articles, ensuring our articles were properly tagged and updating hundreds of our pages and NPCs. All without being asked! Darkblade undertook this on his own initiative and was rewarded for it as part of his recent Grand Cross. He has also recently earned Wikipedian of the Month for his efforts, being recognised by Selikah Roh, the Wiki Tribune and earning a Dark Side Scroll.

Darkblade has worked hard as a Quaestor to ensure that House Shar Dakhan is in the best possible situation summit wise. He's crafted an excellent team that is currently made up of Evelynn/Aexod and Lilith, and I can see that they will be able to replace Darkblade in the future, which is a positive thing, as it speaks well that Darkblade has enabled them to progress and develop their skills.

Darkblade has overcome a lot of initial distrust and judgement from members because of his past, yet through it all, Darkblade has never given up, nor ever demanded less than 100% from himself. I can't complain about Darkblade's drive, nor willingness to help his members. He has grown and developed himself over the past 9 months into an even better Quaestor and leader of his House. His ability to draw out the best of Lilith, who originally didn't want to serve in a summit position, thinking that she wasn't good enough, is fantastic. It's great to see Lilith working hard as BTL of Devil's Shroud even now. Combine that to the fact that Darkblade has gone through 3 Aediles during his time as Quaestor, each one an excellent candidate for future leadership.

Shar Dakhan has done well under Darkblade's watch, having had several events run and is even now running a new slice of life RO that is allowing our members to capitalise on the recent change in Consul and the fiction update.

His hard work these past 9 months as Quaestor is more than deserving of a promotion to the rank of Seer. Congratulations on your promotion, Darkblade.

Consul of Naga Sadow

Additional reasons

Darkblade is a person who works his behind off for his House. He is so selfless that most of his activity can easily go unnoticed, as it is in the form of numerous wiki pages, e-mails, telegram discussions and spreadsheets.

Now when I say most of his activity can go unnoticed, this doesn't mean it's the only thing he does. He's created more content for his House than any Quaestor I've had the opportunity to serve under. Even a year after his Master duties have ended, since I've become a Knight, he still continues to instruct me to the best of his abilities, doing his best to make me (and I speak for myself, but I'm sure every single person of Shar Dakhan thinks the same) into a future leader, capable of standing my own ground through any obstacles the Club may send my way.

Thank you for being a wonderful Master, Quaestor, but most of all an amazing person. Congratulations on EQ3 buddy!

Aedile of House Shar Dakhan,

Evelynn Wyrm, 2017-03-12 21:17:51 UTC

When Sang asked me to write a supporting document for Darkblade’s promotion to Equite 3, I unhesitatingly said yes for several reasons.

I have had the pleasure of working with Savant Morax Darkblade in a couple of different capacities. First I was his BlackGuard when I won the competition to be such last summer and second I am the Battleteam Leader for Devil’s Shroud which operates through House Shar Dakhan of which Darkblade is the Quaestor. I can truly say that he is a pleasure to work for and with.

Darkblade is always ready to help with any question that anyone has. He is very fair in his dealings with everyone. He has been a great teacher to me as I have learned the ropes of being a BTL, always showing patience whenever I haven’t understood something, pointing me in the direction that I need to go.

Thanks to Darkblade and his successful tutelage of this nervous, at the time Mystic, I feel that I will be more than able to accomplish what ever role I find myself in in my future with the Brotherhood. I will not hesitate to throw my hat in the ring for greater positions than what I currently hold, many thanks, Darkblade.

Darkblade is very deserving of this promotion as I believe that he is a well rounded individual who takes pride in doing good for the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and Clan Naga Sadow.

Primary reason

It is my pleasure to recognize Ji’Kip for his hard work as of late. He has participated in 3 competitions, engaged with the Clan on telegram on a regular basis, and has successfully completed a character sheet. The last item I am particularly proud of, especially since it allows everyone to interact with Ji’Kip’s character fictionally. On the gaming front, he has earned 2 Clusters of Ice, 40 Clusters of Earth, and ascended to GMRG rank 2. In addition to all of this, he has a great attitude. He takes on challenges willingly, without complaint, and has proven to be a self-starter. This is especially evident in his Jedi Academy lessons that he attends.

Therefore, I am proud to recommend that Ji’Kip be promoted to Courier.

Congrats and keep it going. Great job, Ji'Kip!

Having been Ji'Kip's master for a couple of weeks, it has been awesome to get to know him and watch him grow as a member of House Satele Shan, the Clan, and the Brotherhood. He is an amazing self starter and to paraphrase another movie franchise, "We expect great things from you Mr. Ji'Kip".

Congratulations!

Texas, you continue to impress. You're growing more competent each day and you will surely rival the Dark Council when the time is right. You have met the requirements for promotion, and a recommendation has been filed. Your accomplishments include:

  • Join Telegram or IRC, and visit Clan Channel
  • Participate in 5 competitions
  • Pass the Dark Brotherhood Basics Shadow Academy Course
  • Pass the Essentials 101: History Shadow Academy Course

I will continue to watch your progress, Texas, but my direct intervention in your promotions must come to an end.

You will go far within this Brotherhood.

Blackie continues to work hard to achieve at a high level on the Brotherhood. Not only has he been an active participant in competitions, he's also been hard at work on his character background. To cap it all off, he's written a combined 1,500+ words of development fiction. I continute to be impressed by his progress and hope to see more in the future.

Primary reason

Korroth is my hero. He is not only a powerhouse of individual activity but he does a tremendous amount of the behind the scenes work for the Clan and larger Brotherhood that is so critical to how we operate. He does all this with humility and no expectation of reward, that’s just the kind of guy he is. We should all be more like Korroth.

His body of project work since his last promotion speaks to the work ethic of an Elder, not an Equite. He received a Grand Cross, an Anteian Cross and a Dark Cross for project work in support of the Combat Master. He received not one but two Dark Crosses for helping the Shadow Academy in addition to two Scrolls of Foundation for catching course errors. If that wasn’t enough, he got an additional three Scrolls for grading ACC qualification exams. His wiki skills are legendary, in addition to the various wiki work that’s been recorded in his merit awards he’s been recognized by the wiki staff as the featured page for both his personal wiki and the Sky Breach Base page he created for House Shan.

As an individual Clan member he has been recognized with a Steel Cross and Anteian Cross for his Clan activity. He has participated in 123 competitions and 11 container competitions where he took home an impressive 65 Crescents. In addition to all the competitions he’s won, Korroth has amassed 165 Clusters of Fire, 90 Clusters of Earth, 33 Clusters of Ice, 13 Clusters of Graphite, and a Legion of the Scholar. He was the winner of the Battle Formations Clan event, 2nd place in the Life Day Games and a strong participant in several other events. Korroth is one of COU’s best front line warriors.

There is very little that this guy doesn’t do and he’s one of the nicest, most humble people you will ever meet. It has been my honor to not only have Korroth in my Clan but to serve beside him on the ACC staff these past several months. His elevation to the upper Equite ranks has been earned several times over. Congrats!

Additional reasons

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Korroth not only throughout his tenure as an ACC Judge, but through the work he does for the Voice staff as well. This is a member that isn't necessarily the superstar you would expect. He isn't flashy and out there. Korroth is the quiet type, but he's consistent. Always there to help with a project and give his perspective. Ready to tackle the dreaded Wiki at a moment's notice. The guy with his nose to the ground, working away at something tedious.

That is the type of member Korroth is. He gets work done, even if it isn't all showy. It was still a surprise to realize all the projects he has worked on, despite knowing the ones he had done for me. It's hard to quantify exactly what a workhorse like that does, but Turel has managed to do so wonderfully in the main recommendation so I won't bother trying to imitate it.

What I can say, without doubt, is that Korroth was and still is a valued member. Even if he is no longer ACC staff, his presence has been felt and can be seen in the current state of our wiki pages and the member experience we offer in the ACC. His judgements have always been sound and informative, shying away from anything that could be seen as degrading to a member. His feedback in discussions is always there whenever it is needed, no matter which Judge is asking. He is a constant that anyone would be lucky to work with.

It's an honor to be appending a recommendation to this promotion, and I know it is well deserved. Without doubt. Congratulations, Korroth.

Atra Ventus Combat Master of the Brotherhood

Darth Renatus, 2017-03-04 19:08:56 UTC

Korroth is nothing short of a godsend. In one of my largest moments of frustration, I dropped a problem that I ran into onto a few different people. Korroth was the first to simply look at the problem, and not just offer an alternative solution, but get right to work and help me make it happen.

Korroth's ability to work on projects is unique. While he was technically on staff for me as an ACC Judge, Korroth has always been eager to help out when called on. Position or not, he just likes to help, and his willingness to do this is easy to see when you look over the long series of awards he's racked up since his last promotion. I know, because two of them were from me.

So I stand here, today, to add my Voice (heh) to this recommendation. Beyond his performance as an ACC Judge and member of Odan Urr, Korroth is an active participant in the DB Fiction Chat, helping the community thrive by asking great questions on the daily form and providing thoughtful answers and assistance to other members.

Where Korroth has really stands out. however, is how he's figured out a way to take all my crazy notes/formatting ideas I come up with in a Google Docs and translating them to the Wiki. Not only does he get my documentation properly hyperlinked and formatting, he's made tables and gone out of his way to care about the aesthetic presentation. He came to my rescue with helping me create the Fiction Center Project view the sandbox here. This will serve as an invaluable resource to members . Korroth's work has been completed on this project, and it is only waiting on the Voice to finish up some content before pushing it live.

Korroth also did work on the Writing Resource Guide, and new Canon Character guide that will help give members a better idea of where Canon characters rank in the DJB CS system. His formatting and tables go a long way to making the content presentable.

Finally, he was also key in proof reading and formatting the new DB Canon article. This is a major resource for members, and shows how Korroth's hard work translates to helping improve the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

For his hard work and willingness to do the nitty gritty work that is so important for enhancing user experience, I am proud to see him elevated in this promotion.

Thank you for everything you do, Korro. It doesn't go unnoticed.

Voice of the Brotherhood

Lord Marick Tyris Arconae, 2017-03-06 05:50:01 UTC

Reading some of the above, you might get the impression that Korroth takes something that's basically written and slaps a bunch of wiki markup and a picture on it and calls it a day. You fool! You see that sweet article for Sky Breach Base? Korroth came up with every idea (beyond the vague notion of a skyhook), wrote every word, and handed me a draft with pictures, markup, and basically no need for proofing. The Shan summit was barely involved; we got to just sit back and enjoy Korroth making us look really good. Any idiot can toss a few apostrophes into a box on the website to make a wiki article. We all love that Korroth does the grunt work, sure, but you shouldn't underestimate the fact that everything he produces is solid gold when we would have settled for copper.

Of course, he handles everything like that. Not only has Korroth participated in 134 competitions since his last promotion, he placed in just shy of half of them. An active member is always a boon to his unit, but it's truly impressive to see a member who maintains Korroth's level of activity and manages to put that much skill and effort into his comp entries. That he's a triple threat - gaming, producing excellent pencil drawings, and writing beautifully - just underscores what a delight it is to have the guy in my house.

The cherry on top of the awesome Korroth sundae is his attitude. In a club that at times produces an awful lot of drama, Korroth is seemingly exempt from it. I've never known anyone to have a spat with him. He's fantastically easy to work with and never seems to care if he gets the attention or credit he's due.

In short, he is exactly the kind of member we want our upper Equites to be. Congratulations, man. You've earned it.

Quaestor, Satele Shan

Headmistress Alethia Archenksova, 2017-03-06 15:49:27 UTC

Korroth is an interesting member and certainly one to keep an eye on, enough information has been provided regarding the sheer amount of work he puts into the Dark Brotherhood across a wide variety of its avenues of activity. However, there can not be enough recommendations to show how valued he is - Although quiet, I haven't known anyone else in my time in this Club who has consistently worked on multiple projects and done so in such a subtle yet capable manner.

I'll not write a long recommendation pointing out everything he has done as my peers have already done so, I can only reiterate how much of a valued member he is and how much so that he deserves his promotion - one of which, I am sure, will be followed by many further awards and promotions in the future.

Keep it up, Korroth and congratulations on your well-deserved promotion.

Mar Sûl, 2017-03-06 16:21:11 UTC

Korroth....I believe this man is an AI housed in some government facility somewhere. Since his last promotion just under a year ago, he has been awarded every merit award (some with multiples) for his work within the DJB. THey have ranged from work in the ACC, helping to fix issues in the SA, and work within COU and Satele Shan. He has also been awarded two Dark Side Scroll's for his work with the DJB Wiki.

This is not a comprehensive list of everything he has done in 10 months as that would include thousands of words of fiction, over a dozen ACC matches graded and gaming submissions, rounded off with several SA courses graded and taken. I wont go into his Crescent count, as its been covered, and its pretty extensive.

The higher Equite ranks signify that a member is stepping outside of the role of a consumer and seeking only to better themselves. It signifies that they work to give back to the DJB and pass on lessons learned to junior members. Korroth is a prime example of this, and to have him in Shan and COU is an honor.

Congrats Korroth on this much deserved promotion!

Lilutha has continued to impress us as a member, showing a particular aptitude for fictions and fiction-related competitions. She's got a full 750 words of character fiction on record, as well as a functional character history document. Additionally, she's organized the "The Future" competition along with another member, and shown herself an active member on our Clan Telegram channel.

Congratulations, Sergeant Lilutha! We gladly await to see what you'll impress us with, next!
