It's not always the people who agree with you the most that are your friends. Malik and I have had more than our fair share of ...we'll say 'lively discussions.' We sometimes get heated. It's a difference of perspective, honestly, and I have always tried to use those discussions to discover the reasons why something is the way it is, to help me not only better understand his position, but also mine. It can be quite frustrating at times, but one has to recognize that people who care deeply about the brotherhood may have differences over policy, but not about how we all want the brotherhood to succeed. It's an important distinction to keep in mind. He's been a steadying factor in CNS for a long time, now, and though he is recently retired from Consul, his calming influence can still be felt. That calm demeanor has cost him some positions, in times when we were looking for aggressive, excited, and revolutionaries. It's kinda fitting that he plays the character that he does, honestly. Unfortunately, it does result in a lot of missed opportunities, and a lot of missed attention. People miss the forest for the trees, focusing on the rising stars, the hyperactive members that are making big waves instead of the guy who is trying to make it so that those young members can be seen. There's a laundry list of people who have come out of Sadow that benefited from his work. I'm one of them, as he was Consul when I first joined. He's done it for more than ten years, at the end of the equite scale. It's time he is recognized for the Elder that he truly is. Thank you, Malik. Herald is a tricky position. It is one of two hard-skill positions in the club. You have to know how to make graphics in order to handle the workload. Socks came into herald after serving as the chief admin person for Orv's short term as herald. Her skills in organization have helped bring the Herald office up from a one or two man operation to a large art department, and one that the Brotherhood readily could use. What most people didn't know is that Socks has been a professional graphic artist for some time now. She's more than capable on her own, and those things that she is not comfortable with yet, she goes after like a bulldog to learn more about. The sea change in how the Herald office operates, it's efficiency, and it's ability to bring more and more people in, train them, and use that newly honed talent for the club has been wonderful, and that transformative work has more than proven that she is ready for promotion to Sith Warlord. Dacien has been one of those people who always seem to get overlooked because of their nature. He's not the type to grandstand, not the type to call attention to his work, so it largely gets taken for granted. It's been six years since he got promoted, and since then he has served in myriad clan and house positions, backed up almost everyone on the Dark Council at one point or project, and been the Headmaster for almost two years. Headmaster is one of those critical positions on the Dark Council that doesn't get enough respect by the older generation, since it's been a decade or more since they had to interface with it. But there is a lot of work involved. Repetitive, boring work. Yet, Dacien pushes through on the daily, wrangling staff, trying to improve the new member experience and help capture the imaginations of more and more of those people who hit that join button. That kind of work is critical to the long term success of our club, and setting those habits now helps to ensure that the work will be carried on long after we're all retired. Magik has been a steady and strong presence in Tarentum since joining our House three months ago, in the process becoming a true core of our Journeymen. The Tarentum Momentum that the House Summit and others speak of is definitely something he's been a part of, both in the recent GJW (where he competed competently in three events) and elsewhere (earning a Crescent with an Emerald Star in a recent House-wide competition). Altogether, Magik has competed in 10 competitions - many outside the confines of Tarentum. To me, one of the most impressive things about Magik is his desire to grow into a leadership role within our House, as evidenced by his recent branching out into the Shadow Academy's Leadership Studies Department. There, he scored high marks on the Leadership Rewards and Leadership Competitions courses. For these reasons, it is my pleasure to recommend him for promotion to the rank of Jedi Hunter; congrats, Magik, and let's get you that saber!

As Magik's master I have never seen a student such as Magik. His dedication and determination with his studies at the Shadow Academy has been truly abundant. He has put the time in to learn all he can from all of us combined. Anything he doesn't know he quickly finds the answer.

He has a great attitude with his ability to compete. As only being with us for three months, he has submitted to 10 competitions. He also has run three competitions with myself on a clan level.

Magik is an asset to Tarentum. He has kept the momentum going strong. His great attitude coupled with his die hard determination will always lead to success. I am proud to be his master and will continue to tinder his flame. He is a shining example of what the brotherhood is all about, and should be rewarded for his hard work and actions.

I am recommending DJK Farrin Xies for promotion to EQ1. Farrin has been an amazing force in Tarentum, both as his job as Rollmaster and also as a natural leader. Farrin has flawlessly executed his duties at every turn. He has gone above and beyond in helping every member of Tarentum succeed. He is also in charge of our Master-Student program which has found a natural rhythm due to his leadership. Farrin has helped flesh out and write much of the House Tarentum military manuals and fiction. Farrin has also helped all members of the house with any wiki questions and issues that members may have. He has also kept the House Tarentum wiki pages, ALL the pages, fully up to date without myself or the QUA asking. He is always there to proofread people's work and is always on top of all communications. As his AED, and as his Master, Farrin has performed every duty and assignment with flawless dedication to duty and professionalism. He is also very, very long overdue for this promotion and would make a very powerful asset as an Equite within Tarentum and the Brotherhood as a whole. I approve his promotion.

I would like to recommend Farrin Xies for promotion to Krath Priest. Farrin was one of the first people I spoke to when I joined Tarentum, and it was among one of the warmest welcomes I have the pleasure of remembering. Not only was he speedy in his response time, he worked diligently to fix me up with a member to become my student and kept tabs on us while we worked. He's an amazing Rollmaster, and leader. Farrin has also shown wisdom in asking for help or asking for opinions when he is unsure of something. Even if he is sure of something, he still makes sure that anyone who wanted to contribute something did. Everyone matters to him, and it's a noble quality.

I'm going to be blunt here. Tarentum, when I first joined, was a place covered in shadows and darkness of inactivity. Members spoke and chatted with each other, but there were few that did more than that. These candles of activity amidst the darkness have grown to beacons of light that have given Tarentum renewed hope. Farrin Xies was among the members who helped create that change, and it gives me great pleasure in asking that he be promoted. Congratulations Farrin, I only regret that we were unable to get this for you sooner.

Farrin has been a breath of fresh air since joining Tarentum. His enthusiasm and drive have never wavered and he has taken his role as Rollmaster and run with it. What’s more, he has the skills to back it up. He is a talented writer, a proactive and engaged leader, and a genuinely friendly person who is ideal to have as the first point of contact for most of our new members. He has spearheaded our Master/Student Program. He took the initiative to update our military wiki pages. He has been an active participant in every Vendetta while he has been here, as well as an active part of our Summit conversations and planning. All that is only half of the story though. Farrin has been an active member of the Shadow Academy staff for quite awhile now, earning a Sapphire Blade for his efforts in improving or rewriting nearly every course the Academy has. Very few Knights can say they have earned a sacramental award, but he is one of them and it is well deserved. It is due to his outstanding efforts both at home in Tarentum and out in other parts of the Brotherhood that leads me to believe that Farrin is more than worthy of promotion into the Equites. Congratulations, Farrin!

Farrin is a consistently reliable member of the Shadow Academy staff. He proofreads every course that we release and often contributes substantially to the content of those courses. His work helps make the Shadow Academy a valuable institution in the Brotherhood, attaining an historically high level of quality.
