Primary reason

Locke Sonjie is one of a kind, I don’t know how else to put it. It has been over a year since Locke was last promoted and in that time he has earned numerous Seals, Clusters of Fire, Clusters of Ice, Crescents and a handful of Novae, all of which shows his incredible drive and high level of activity, that shined through during the Crusade where he did no less than 21 events.

He has of course earned a number of merit medals in that time, two Dark Crosses, an Anteian Cross and last but not least a Sapphire Blade. These stand as a testament to both his activity but also to his leadership quality where has spent no less than 15 months as Consul of Clan Naga Sadow, seven of them since his last promotion, which in itself is an achievement. When you then take some of the troubles Naga Sadow has faced in the past year into account then it’s even more impressive that he still continued on as Consul until he was sure he had left the Clan in capable hands.

After he resigned he took a short break but immediately when he returned to active duty he jumped at every opportunity to be an asset to Naga Sadow, offering to help out with projects or anything else we need him for really, among other things he did all the work when it comes to fleshing out the Warhost of Naga Sadow wiki article.

While technically I’m the senior Consul I still bug him for advice and to bounce ideas off of him all the time because he is my predecessor and honestly, I don’t think I could find anyone else to talk to about fleet changes for 20-30 hours… furthermore we have also spent numerous hours discussing Clan Artisans and the new fictional direction we’re taking Naga Sadow.

He also possesses the ability to get along with everyone, from the most grizzled veteran in the club to the newest member who has just joined the club, not everyone in the club is capable of doing that.

As the sitting Consul I would like to thank my predecessor in the seat for a job well done and reward him with this promotion to Krath Epis. Congratulations Locke, and thank you.

Additional reasons

This may sound strange to put in a recommendation for a promotion, but let none of us not beat around the bush. This has not been an easy year for Locke. When Locke was promoted to Krath Archpriest, I wrote that it had been his leadership, his drive, his enthusiasm around which Clan Naga Sadow pulled back together, around which a Clan was reborn, around which the heart and soul of a Clan was restored.

When events beyond Locke’s own control then shredded everything that he had spent his time as Consul - a great consul - to build, most lesser men would have collapsed and thrown in the towel. Indeed, yes, Locke had little choice but to pass on the mantle of leadership - a choice I know that hurt him then, and I suspect still hurts him now, especially after all that he had done, all that he had bled for his Clan and friends. But this is where Locke’s dedication stood firm.

He sacrificed himself for his Clan.

That’s hard. Very hard. How many leaders do we all know that have sat in their chairs for weeks, months... years, even when the pains of what they have been through have already crushed them? But in Locke’s case, he didn’t do that. He was more mature than so many of those others are. He stepped down, to allow others to put back together what Locke had built.

What Locke had built. I feel that cannot be repeated enough times. What Locke had built.

So much that Clan Naga Sadow now has - and is - it still owes to Locke. Despite all the unfortunate events that befell the Clan in the first half of this year, it was still - and is still - Locke that Naga Sadow owed - and still owes - its survival to. And even today, what is Locke still doing, but fighting to preserve what he had built up? Even after all the hardships of this year, Locke has not gone away, but fights on. Even after all the pain, he still took part - even winning multiple Novas - during the Dark Crusade.

Doing the very thing that I wish so many more of Clan Naga Sadow’s fellow Equites would do.

Locke may not be Consul, he may not be a Son of Sadow, he may not be many things: but he is dedicated to the Clan that he led and continues to commit himself to. Even as I write this, I open my email, and see Locke engaging with both of the Clan’s Houses on their separate mailing lists. Even as I write this, I can open emails from yesterday when Locke was working together with many of the Clans other members, from elders like Macron to the comparative youngsters like Syntari, with Locke leading discussions, interacting, engaging people in run-ons and taking part in the many other smaller events that are run.

How many other Equites do this? Not nearly enough.

And Locke still does this, even in spite of all the aforementioned hardships that he has been forced to endure in the last twelve months. That takes commitment. That takes dedication. That takes a man who tirelessly sacrifices his heart and soul for a Clan that he loves so dearly. And that deserves recognition more than any websites or graphics, for it is in the community that the Dark Jedi Brotherhood finds its true purpose, its reason for being, its PURPOSE.

Locke gives this club purpose.

And for that I heartily thank him.

Congratulations, Consul Emeritus, you are one of the greats, and I hope you never go.

If I am trying to think of a person that has been a consistent factor within CNS, Locke Sonjie is one of those persons. He has been always around, he always has given advices and he still gives input. He is a calm person whose presence keeps lingering within Clan Naga Sadow and he has put his mark onto Clan Naga Sadow - in a good kind of way.

Despite of having stepped down from Consul (which I had hoped wouldn’t happen), he is still here, still around, and still active. For which I am very thankful.

I would like to recap the shinies Locke has gotten since his last promotion: 15 Seals of Affliction, 5 Legions of the Scholar, Quite an amount of Clusters of Fire and Ice, 2 Dark Crosses, 2 Bronze Nova, 2 Silver Nova, 1 Gold Nova, 10 Crescents, 1 Dark Side Scroll, 3 Seals of Reminiscence, 1 Anteian Cross and 1 Sapphire Blade

This is a huge amount of rewards; along with his positive influence and consistent activities this is well worthy of a promotion. Congratulations Epis Locke Sonjie

Sildrin Lyonsbane, 2014-01-23 17:27:47 UTC

There’s a lot I could say about my former Aedile. For one, he was also Consul for a bit over a year, and did a pretty solid job of it, including earning himself a Sapphire Blade from former and current summit, as gratitude to the work he did for us. I could also give you the laundry list of things he’s done for himself, but I don’t know that wasting time is the right way to go here, but there’s crescents and novae aplenty, several Vendetta seals, and also a Seal of Loyalty.

Now, stepping up and working for a Clan for over a year is enough, I should imagine, to warrant a promotion on its own, but he’s done more. Lots more as a matter of fact, as previously stated. He’s filled more than a year at EQ2, and he has the time as a leader, which are the listed requirements for a promotion to Krath Epis, but for a guy like Locke, who’s done so much, put in so much time and effort, I’m tempted to petition he be promoted to Krath Epic. That’s just the kind of guy he is, and I firmly believe that he deserves to be elevated to the third tier of the Equites.

Raziel, 2014-01-23 17:28:12 UTC

From the first time I joined the clan, it was Locke who greeted me first with more than one way to keep me around for the long haul. His dedication to the clan and keeping it fresh and thriving was pleasant to see. He was Consul for well over a year and in that time has brought change and a sense of camaraderie between clansmen. Though the responsibilities of a Consul weigh heavily on most as it demands a lot of attention from a person, this didn't seem to bother Locke.

Becoming even more active personally to invigorate clan members to do the same. Earning a Sapphire Blade for his high efforts as a summit leader, and even being increasingly adamant about pushing through the Crusades. He has earned multiple awards for his hardwork during the Crusade, getting the whole triad of Novae from Bronze to Gold. And even more awards outside the Crusade, he stays extremely active on that part.

When he resigned and became a member, he still did not stop checking up on me and other members, making sure we were at place and felt at home. These were things he did do for recognition but that's just the way he operates. I believe Locke has proven his prowess so far, and I am happy to write this recc for him. Congratulations Locke you deserve it!

Shirai Dupar, 2014-01-23 17:28:32 UTC

When I first joined Naga Sadow, there were four faces that I found were most immediately welcoming of me - Locke was the first. He was, at that time Consul of the Clan, and a most active one. Locke has many traits going for him that are worth mentioning, but some of the most important ones, to me, are his kindness, his willingless to listen, his humility and his simple style that works so very well with the people around him. Instead of causing conflict and strife to get his way, Locke listened to us. He listened to me as a member of his Clan. He listened to me when I submitted a battleteam proposal, supported me, and helped me refine the concept to be something great. He listened to me when I was a battleteam leader despite how new I still was to the club. He trusted me enough to help me work towards the rank of Quaestor, which I became after some time. In the time that Locke was Consul, he listened. Not just to myself, but to all of us. Our voices were all equal, from the newest Initiate to the most senior Elder, for we were all members of Naga Sadow. His voice, too, was equal. He treated others the way he wished to be treated. There were few problems with his leadership style becase he did not take his ego and shove it into the face of the others. And, despite many great troubles that hammered our Clan, the difficulties that happened, he weathered the storm to serve as Consul for more than a year. I knew Locke only through the second half of his term, but I am grateful for every day of that term that I was present.

May this recommendation serve as thanks, from a Summit member who was very appreciative of his work, for his dedication to Naga Sadow and for his leadership qualities that have not died off. Even now, as a regular member, he is still active, constantly providing feedback and commentary, participating in run-ons and entering competitions - and winning, to the quality expected of the finest Sadows. All of this, and more, makes Locke Sonjie worthy of the next rank in the Brotherhood, without any shadow of a doubt.

Congratulations, Locke. Welcome to EQ3.

Jades A Sadow

Krath Archpriestess (Equite 2)

Gavriel Kadesh
Primary reason

Nearly five and a half years have passed since Jade was promoted to Krath Archpriestess. In that time she has served as Rollmaster, Aedile and Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos, while she was Quaestor she led Marka Ragnos to a victory over Ludo Kressh in a feud. And to add to all that she was also named a Daughter of Sadow, all of these show what an asset Jade has been, and still is, to Clan Naga Sadow.

She has earned countless crescents, several seals and a number of clusters of fire which speak of her activity. Her activity hasn’t been confined to just competitions either, she has also earned a number of Shadow Academy degrees, including Dark Sage Writing which is arguably one of the more difficult ones to get, many people have dropped out of those classes.

Some people might have given up after such a long time without getting promoted by not Jade. She has always been ready to help out the Clan and its members when they needed it. For that I want to thank her and give her this promotion to Krath Epis which has been long underway. Congratulations Jade!

Additional reasons

I haven't personally gotten to know Jade in my time here. But I was always very aware of her long track record. As a rival of Naga Sadow for a time in my long stay at Plagueis. I was always very aware of Jades consistent activity. Since she was last promoted her track record speaks for itself. Still a veteran among veterans, the experience she shares with members was invoking. Jades has served her clan through everything including an old enemy, time. As her Aedile I feel that she has more than earned the right for this honor. And I am thrilled to send this recc, when someone deserves their due. Awesome job Jade.

Shirai Dupar, 2014-01-23 17:30:18 UTC

Sometimes people slip through the cracks, lost in the annals of a unit’s history, their achievements forgotten. This is something I would be positively remiss if I didn’t correct. Hence I write to you about Jades Sadow. Her last promotion was in 2008. Just a little over five years ago, and in that time, holy moly, she’s got five pages of awards on her DB history page. This includes mentoring somebody all the way to Dark Jedi Knight. In addition, she has collectively around a year of sub-unit leadership, including Aedile and Quaestor in ’08 and ’09.

More than that though, since I first joined the DB, and was sorted into CNS, I have seen her volunteer for most anything she can get her hands on, offer help whenever possible, and in general, remain a rock solid constant. We, as a Clan, have failed long enough in giving Jade what she deserves, so please, consider my Apprentice Sister for promotion to Krath Epis.

Raziel, 2014-01-23 17:30:37 UTC

I was going to start this with a story about a tortoise and a hare, but I’m sure you’ve all heard that one already. But that story teaches an important lesson, about how you don’t always need to be the one to get to the finish line first -- and sometimes if you try to, you won’t end up getting their first anyway. Jade may not run fast like the hare, but if Aesop’s fable taught us all anything, it’s that you don’t need to be fast, and that there is nothing wrong with being the slow and steady tortoise, because not only do they get there eventually, but often still manage to beat those who burn themselves out, never to reach the end at all.

Jade is like the tortoise, and despite how that image sounds, this is a good thing.

Having been here an eternity, Jade is one of the oldest members of the Dark Brotherhood (and when she reads this, I hope she does not take that sentence the wrong way!). No, she has never been on the Dark Council, no she has not been in a Summit position for a number of years, and yes, her activity has risen and fallen, like the crashing tides of the sea, or the waxing and waning of the moon -- the latter of these two analogies probably being the one she, the authoress who I know enjoys writing published vampire fiction, probably would prefer to see herself as.

Is this a bad thing? The short -- or perhaps in the context, the long -- answer is: no.

In the end, slow and steady wins the race, and Jade will have been where she is now for six years in another week’s time. Yet, Jade has never been far away. If she had drifted that far from the Dark Brotherhood, then she wouldn’t keep coming back, time and time again, to take part, to interact, to remain a member of that community that she has called a home -- albeit on and off -- for potentially longer than some of this club’s youngest members have drawn breath.

But that isn’t why Jade deserves a promotion. Sitting idle, and inactive, does not net rewards alone. No, what has made Jade worthy is how -- even now, after all these many years -- she remains one of those dependable people, who when called upon, still reads her email, still answers the call, still returns to give back to those members today what she herself has gotten out of the Dark Brotherhood for more than a decade now. When I look at her dossier, it may not be filled with the avalanche of medals throughout 2013 that I have usually written about on other promotion recommendations, but instead I see a small trickle, here and there, on and off, over such a prolonged, excessive, exhaustive period of time... that it genuinely intimidates me when I reflect on how long she, or I, or many others of us, have been here.

And, this is what is important, how we still are.

And it is because of people like Jade that we all still are. Because without that community, without that family of members who remain here, what other reason would we have to stay...?

Far too often, that simple, reliable, consistent presence is not given the reward it deserves. The mother or sister who her family can always rely on to be there, or the family member that does not run away, does not leave, does not go off and do something else, or emigrate and never is heard from again, those bonds, those ties, they bind society together. And, exactly the same way, they bind this club together, and are at the heart of it, just as much as they are at the heart of any family in the real world.

This is why, when I look at everything -- and I mean EVERYTHING -- that Jade has done since her last promotion, and that after all is what every successive promotion is about, I end up seeing that same tally of medals and activity and dedication that I see in others, just unlike the many hares that rush about hurrying to their next award, with Jade she has simply been prepared to take her time, slow and steady like the tortoise, not having rushed.

There comes a point where this has to be recognised, and after six years and still being a part of this club and its family, I feel it is only right that we thank Jade for still being here, and for the many things she has does over the years -- and which, as a direct result of how long it has been, are consequently much too long to ever cover in comprehensive detail!

Well done Jade, and I hope you always continue to be a part for the next six years too.

Ah who doesn’t remember “Not the Voice”? For a handful of months while Mirado was P:VOICE he basically ran the office while Vodo was suffering from internet troubles. He not only ran the office, he did it with so much success that he was awarded a Sapphire Blade for his service, nobody had come to Mirado asking him to do that, he just did it. That is what exemplifies him as a great member of the Brotherhood and also marks him as a great leader.

It has been a year and a half since Mirado was promoted to Obelisk Prelate and in that time he has earned numerous Crescents, Seals, Clusters of Ice and a Bronze Nova which stands as a testament to his continued activity in Naga Sadow and the Brotherhood as a whole.

Back when I took up the job as Consul the second time Mirado had originally applied for the open spot as Aedile of Shar Dakhan but since Xanos became Proconsul that opened up the Quaestor job so I asked Mirado if he was up to leading his old house again and he has done extremely well in the job since then, including coming up with a new fictional direction for the house together with Locke that goes with the new fictional stuff we are doing for the whole Clan.

He has also been very concerned with training future leaders by letting members shadow what he does as QUA so they can learn the ropes without having to worry about carrying the burden of leadership, most recently he made the decision to set up two battleteams and make it mandatory for members to be part of a battleteam, both so the BTL spots can be used further to train future leaders but also to help people get more involved with their Clan, House and Battleteam.

For his dedication to training new leaders and his dedication to the Brotherhood and Naga Sadow I hereby wish to promote Mirado L’eonheart to Obelisk Exarch. Congratulations Mirado!

Additional reasons

Mirado has been one of the most reliable members I've run into for a very long time. Something I've seen since I first came to Naga Sadow. Before then his track record speaks well. He handled himself admirably well in his time as a Praetor to the Voice. Especially when Vodo was having trouble. He stepped up to the plate and gave some amazing contributions. Running popular competitions as well as the duties and responsibilities along with the position. Those efforts were even graced with a rare Sapphire Blade award.

Later on he moved on to become Quaestor of Shar Dakhan. Working personally with him is insightful especially throughout the last part of the Crusades. Based on his constant presence. Always around dishing ideas, and brainstorming. For a long time coming I nod towards his determination. And honestly think Mirado has shown exemplary service to the clan, is deserving of a promotion to the upper tier of Equites.

Shirai Dupar, 2014-01-23 17:25:00 UTC

Mirado is always a big help and active. He's a great Quaestor. If I'm like "what can I do?" he has something. He writes interesting reports. He comes up with really interesting competitions (like the "Disorderly Conduct" one). And Mirado is also just really helpful. Whenever I have a question about character sheets or different combat things,he's generally one of the first people I ask. Like with the new character sheets. I was totally lost on how to make a character similar to my previous sheets, but Mirado offered some great insight and was a big help in keeping my character's abilities consistent.

Mirado has good ideas on where the club is going and how to help it, and is open-minded and oriented toward the future. For example, he is always looking for ways to obtain more new members for the Brotherhood. He's also really cool to talk to and pretty much always available, even if at work (which makes me wonder how often he texts while driving!).

I think Mirado is more than worthy and would like to add my recommendation for his promotion! Congratulations, Mirado!

Epis Locke Sonjie, 2014-01-23 17:25:28 UTC

There is one thing about Mirado L'eonheart that I admire, a quality that he alone possesses above all that I find really, really great: his singular and mind-blowing dedication to House Shar Dakhan. When I first joined it, as Tenebrae's Battleteam Leader, and even when I was working on its proposal, I first met Mirado and he showed to me then that he was a very welcoming and very knowledgeable man, someone who I could turn to if ever I had a question or needed assistance with what Shar Dakhan was, or if I needed... well, anything at all, really. I was shocked he wasn't Quaestor. I learned that he was before, and that made sense. It was then that who he was really shone through for me: he'd been around the block more than once. He'd been around for a long time, done plenty of things-- take the perfect example of him being Praetor to the Voice and doing things even when there was no Voice to speak of, to keep the position and the Clan interested-- and knew his stuff. That much was self-devident. I remember when we worked on our House lore and Mirado was there to offer pointers and advice, one of the very few non-Summit people we had in on the task. His insight into the House's history to fill the gaps we could not was incredible.

As Quaestor yet again of Shar Dakhan, Mirado's utter dedication to making his House better has already shown through. Shar Dakhan's Crusade results are nothing short of mindblowing since he took up the mantle. Its participation is at an all-time high in the past year. His ability to get his members moving and participating is very seriously incredible and it is thanks to him that the name of Shar Dakhan that I love very much has now risen to its own greatness despite waiting in the dark for so long. He's got plans and ideas and is always willing to be reasonable and to help his members out, and even reward them duly for their time. He's willing to teach. To thank. To help. So many of these qualities make Mirado an excellent leader and I am very glad to be on Summit with him, to work with him and to learn from his example.

I hereby recommend Mirado L'eonheart for the rank of Obelisk Exarch, the rank of Equite 3, for services rendered to House, to Clan and to Brotherhood on a level of dedication that is so rarely seen these days. Thank you, Mirado, and may the star that is your House continue to shine as brightly as it is under your guidance. Shar Dakhan just wouldn't be the same without you.

Battlelord Mateus Kelborn, 2014-01-23 17:25:56 UTC

Mirado may still be a comparative ‘newbie’ compared to those of us who have been here longer than the time since the dinosaurs went extinct, but in that time Mirado has become very much one of today’s foundation stones, who is always there, ever present, and now has been for what come next year will have been four hard worked years.

The time since Mirado’s last promotion has seen great things. Twice he has worked for the Dark Brotherhood as a whole, having served as a Praetor, and later Magistrate, to the Voice, during which time his standing in on Vodo’s behalf at times, or running and grading individual monthly fiction events, as well as no doubt countless other behind the scenes contributions that the rest of us are unaware of all led to him earning a Sapphire Blade, what is now more than a year ago back in December of 2012.

But here we are now at the close of December 2013. In all this time, Mirado has remained where he is as an Obelisk Prelate, but he has never stopped giving back, both to the wider club in his continued work as a Magistrate at the beginning of this year, and later throughout the year as a longtime committed member of Clan Naga Sadow, who is very much one of the standouts of today’s community, who is there and recognised by older and newer members alike. Most recently, he has been serving a second time as one of his Clan’s two Quaestors, during which time his House has seen a marked improvement, with what will shortly be two new Journeymen having completed their Knighthood Trials and reached Dark Jedi Knight.

But it is not just the work that Mirado does on the surface that we all see. Behind the scenes, he has been mentoring a new generation of leaders, having been the one to identify a long term problem -- that of the difficulties that arise should a Summit member suddenly have to leave, and another having to suddenly fill their shoes. To this end, Mirado has developed a system of having others shadow him, follow him, watch and emulate what he does, so that should the day come that he is forced to step aside, it will not leave a vacuum, but allow the tree to simply be pruned back and the new shoots emerge and grow in his place one day. Unlike many leaders, then, Mirado is already thinking about the future, having recognised that others need not be positioned members for him to already be grooming them.

When looked at as a whole, it cannot be denied that Mirado may still be a relatively fresh face compared to those of us who have grown old and grey, but he has a very mature head, and is far more forward thinking even than those who have been here over a decade. And this comes on top of his own commendable activity, having taken part throughout the Dark Crusade.

For all this, I extend my support for Mirado’s elevation, and look forward what I am sure he still has left to achieve in the future.

Where do I start with Methyas? If you look at what he has recieved since his last promotion you will find a Dark Cross, two Anteian Crosses, a Sapphire Blade and last but not least, the Clan title, Son of Sadow. That alone should speak for his contributions to Naga Sadow and the Brotherhood as a whole. But if you look further you will see he has also earned a bunch of Seals, Crescents and a few Novae as well, including a Gold Nova for being on the winning team of the Avenger II run on competition in January.

When you look at how long Methyas has served on the summit of Naga Sadow you will see that he was Consul for five months, Aedile and then Proconsul of first House then Clan Naga Sadow for five months, and Aedile of Marka Ragnos for six months. And for over a year now he has been Rollmaster of Naga Sadow sticking around when everyone around him had to leave for different reasons, he has very much been the glue holding the Clan together during trying times and not once have I heard him complain. He has been a shining beacon in Naga Sadow, at times where other veterans of the Clan drifted away either to other units or into inactivity Methyas was always right here, active, holding the flag high and being the greatest possible example for new generations to follow. He is always there and willing to offer advice when I need it.

He is also my goto guy whenever I have questions or issues with the wiki and most recently he has taken it upon himself to re-write the Orian System page to make the system more realistic and make some of the lesser used planets more interesting to use in future fiction.

What more can I say? He should forever be remembered as one of Naga Sadow’s greatest members and I think he is more than worthy of this promotion to Krath Pontifex.

If you pick up a dictionary and flipped open to the page that contains the word dedicated you might very well find the picture of Methyas. He has shown dedication to Clan Naga Sadow that is unrivaled except by a selected few. He has stood through many numerous summit changes and still he doesn’t crumble. I’m pretty sure he asks for more but don’t quote me on that. He has been at his current rank for over a year and has been the Rollmaster for the Clan during that period. Recently he was awarded the title of Son of Sadow, something he has earned through his hard work and his dedication to others, where others have faltered and fell; he has continued to push on ahead. It has been a great honor to work with him again as a summit member, but it is an even better honor to call him a friend and my former apprentice. I believe that he is ready to hit that final tier of the Equite ranks. There is no way to say thank you completely to Methyas for all that he has done for the Clan, however this is a good start. Thank you Methyas and Congrats.

Methyas Sadow! The recent naming to a Son of Sadow shows how much Clan Naga Sadow owes him. And how much Clan Naga Sadow has grown due to his hard work as an Aedile and afterwards Rollmaster. He is constantly around and does a good job with handling the new people. For being more than about two years in the summit, I know it will be a sad day for Naga Sadow should he ever retire!

Methyas also gathered a lot of rewards: -Clusters of Ice -2 Crescents -1 Dark Cross -3 Bronze Nova -1 Gold Nova -2 Anteian Cross -1 Sapphire Blade (wow! shiny!) -8 Seals of Affliction -Clusters of Fire -5 Seals of Reminiscence -and on top he changed to Krath (good decision!!)

Krath Pontifex Methyas Sadow, you have done an awesome job. You deserved this promotion! Thank you.

I love writing recommendations. I love having the opportunity to dig into a member’s activity and history, and getting to share it. It’s honestly fun for me, and this is probably the most fun recommendation I’ve ever had the chance to write.

My sister Methyas is, frankly, a badass. I really cannot stress this enough. He’s lived his DB career pretty well entirely on the Summit. He works frighteningly hard. He’s been/is a leader, a major player on the Wiki, a guide, and a man of great wisdom. He’s the guy I want to be in this club. I won’t sit and list his massive amount of accomplishments, there’s just too many. He’s held literally every position a clan has, BTL to Consul.

Actually, I think he might be a machine, or a really impressive bot. People shouldn’t work this hard, especially on their free time for no payment that can keep the lights and the heat on. Methyas does this though, like a juggernaut. People like him are the foundation of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, and an inspiration to everyone they meet. He’s sat at EQ3 for about a year and a half, and he deserves Krath Pontifex, more so than many. Thank you for your consideration

Raziel, 2014-01-22 11:42:04 UTC

Methyas is awesome to have around. He has always been great to have around. He has been an anchor for CNS as long as I can remember. When I was Consul, Methyas was always nearby. I really, personally appreciated having someone there who had not only done my job before me, but was still there and still active, and still reliable. Methyas has been consistently, reliably active over an incredibly long time, and on Summit pretty much that entire time. After I stepped down from Consul I went away for awhile, and when I got back, Methyas was still here. He was still there to answer questions, he was still there to help out. I'd be completely lost on the new character sheets if not for his help. Thanks Methyas.

And that's just me, myself, my personal experiences. As Rollmaster, Methyas is often the first member newbies hear from. There are few people I could think of who would be as good for the job, and none better. Recent 'Crosses reflect his dedication beyond that responsibility, showing that Methyas is as active as any member manages to be.

Patience, kindness, and consistency are words that define Methyas. If I knew him in real life, I'd have to poke him to see if he's a robot. This guy has ice in his veins. He never quits, either. I think Methyas is more than deserving of this promotion, and will continue to exemplify the characteristics that make him worthy of it! Congratulations, Methyas!

Clan Naga Sadow has been through some very tough times lately. We've seen an incredible turn-over of Summit positions, a lot of members coming and going and some internal troubles that have shaken many of our members-- myself included-- to the very core. However, the Clan has seen one constant, one man who has not left his post, who plays silent vigil for a period longer than I have been a member of the Clan. This man, Methyas L'eonheart, has been Clan Naga Sadow's Rollmaster for more than a year now. Despite Summit changes, despite many things, he has done so much for all of us. Quite possibly one of the friendliest people you could ever meet, Methyas is the kind of person you want on your side. Soft-spoken, not likely to throw a harsh word at you for a failure so much as he is to reassure and help you work on it for next time, Methyas is the quintessential Rollmaster - always just an email away if ever you need him. He kicked absolute ass during the crusade - the number of Novae he won is in the true tradition of Sadow. He participated in more events than I care to count. He really is the kind of man that this Clan deserves. In fact, he's better. So much better that I can't sing his praises well enough. Methyas is a great writer. That much is certain. He's got so many awards for writing that I don't think you could ever say otherwise. His talents, his knowledge, his leadership ability and his stability - all things that make him the rock upon this Clan is founded. He doesn't do things for glory. He doesn't need that. All he needs is a thank you every now and then, because everyone likes to be thanked, right? We all agree that this is the best possible thank you, for weathering a storm so difficult, for serving before and after, for being someone that I can look up to and respect for everything that he is.

For incredible and long-term service to this Clan and to the Brotherhood, for going above and beyond the call of duty that is ever required for what we could ever need, I am proud to recommend Methyas L'eonheart for the rank of Krath Pontifex. You've served a wonderful career in the Brotherhood and this is more than deserved. Congrats, Methyas. You're one of the best we've got. Thank you for being a part of this Clan.

Battlelord Mateus Kelborn, 2014-01-22 11:42:55 UTC

Oh my, oh my. Methyas L’eonheart. Wait, make that Methyas Sadow. There is a name that I am sure every single member of Clan Naga Sadow - and I am sure many beyond it - are very familiar with. Throughout the entire time since his last promotion -- so a long time -- Methyas has been working diligently, whether on the front line and in the background, as a member of the Summit of Clan Naga Sadow in one capacity or another. Aedile? Rollmaster? Advisor and Consul Emeritus? Role model and example to others -- a role he has recently been praised for by his whole Clan in his recognition as a Son of Sadow? Check, check, check, double check.

From practically the moment he joined the Dark Brotherhood, Methyas has always been a hard worker, and this has never abandoned him. Where many in his position might have burned out or faded away into the shadows, Methyas has remained at the forefront, always wanting to do more, always giving back, always striving to improve the experience of other members -- and in specific, his passion for improving the lives of our club’s newest members, who as I am sure everyone would agree, are the true lifeblood that make up our future.

In this area, I feel one finds Methyas’s greatest contribution to the Dark Brotherhood. As it is not just in the work that everyone sees on the front page and that attracts all the attention, but in the work behind the scenes, the tireless hours given up by those like Methyas that keep the rest of the wheels turning. Methyas might not be the ship’s captain, but he is the engineer that has been keeping the engine running, and making sure the captain still has a ship to run, and I am sure we all agree that Captain Kirk would not be Captain Kirk without a Scotty. This is where Methyas has excelled, and this has been seen recently in the number of Journeymen who have now reached the cusp of their Trials and risen to Knighthood -- in no small part thanks to the consistent watch and attention that Methyas has provided these past few years, even when many other leaders and Summits have risen and fallen for one reason or another.

This devotion -- this consistent, unbroken commitment -- is what has made Methyas into one of those anchors that have become a cornerstone of the community. And that above anything else is what makes Methyas more than deserving of being recognised -- and, moreover, thanked -- for the energy he continues to devote to the Dark Brotherhood to keep it alive.

Congratulations Methyas, and never give up.

And more, thank you for everything you continue to do.

Target
Teu Buhkari Sadow
Old Rank
Obelisk Exarch (Equite 3)
New Rank
Obelisk Primarch (Equite 4)
Requested by
Gavriel Kadesh
Primary reason

Teu has been an Obelisk Exarch for well over two years now. In that time she has countless

Clusters of Fire, numerous Crescents and a handful of Novae, while that is impressive in itself it

only scratches the surface of what Teu has done in those two years.

Her various Crosses tells you about not only her high level of activity in feuds and Vendettas but

also her commitment to the Shadow Academy where she grades the CORE courses which are

some of the busiest ones since they are part of the journeyman promotion guidelines, and she

does this with a turn around time that is never over a day, most of the times it’s never more than

a few hours.

In the time since her last promotion she has also served as Rollmaster of Naga Sadow and later

seven months as Proconsul of Naga Sadow. The Sapphire Blade she got for this is a testament

to the amazing job she did in those positions. That is also why I knew right away that I had

found the first of my Quaestors when she applied for the job back in August when the Clan

found itself in need of two new ones.

For the past year she has also served the Chamber of Justice as the Left Hand of Justice and I

am fairly certain it has been the busiest year the Chamber has ever had, leaving her to work on

a handful of high profile and difficult cases.

Teu is well liked, easily approachable by young and old and she is always willing to offer a

helping hand when people need it, which is something I wish was true of every equite in the

club, but as it is Teu is a shining example for all to follow and I can think of no better way to

thank her for all her hard work than with this promotion to Obelisk Primarch. Congratulations

Teu!

Additional reasons

Wow. Where oh where does one even begin when it comes to Teu?

Teu is a trooper. Since her last promotion, in the last two years she has worked tirelessly as a Rollmaster, on the Shadow Academy staff, as a Proconsul, as a Hand of Justice, and most recently as a Quaestor. That is a long list. And Teu has not just sat idly by in these roles. On top of her incredible level of activity during the Dark Crusade - and elsewhere - which has brought her more than one Nova and other Crosses in recognition, on top of the endless mountain of Clusters of Fire and other competition awards that she has received, she has also been repeatedly recognized for her services to the Shadow Academy, in addition to having received praise for her time as a Hand of Justice during some notably difficult cases.

I already said it, but it doesn’t hurt to repeat it again: that is a long list of activity. And not just any activity, but hard activity, difficult activity, the sort of activity that many others would balk at even beginning, let alone enduring for as long as Teu has. Just looking at the reasons for some of the medals she has received during this same period, both in Naga Sadow and during her time in Arcona, I am not alone in having noticed just how brightly her star has shined, how much time and dedication she has put into this club, not just a small part of it or one isolated unit, but the club as a consolidated whole.

Begging the question of why I am still even writing. Teu has more than earned her next rank, more than once over, and for that reason I extend my full support to her promotion to the highest tier of the Equites, and hope that her drive continues for a long time to come.

Congratulations, Teu, and thank you, you are one of the people without whom there wouldn’t be a Dark Brotherhood.

To write a recommendation for Teu is such an easy and natural task - yet given the scope of what she has done it is also incredibly difficult to do. Recently I wrote a report for House Marka Ragnos, in which I started a section called 'You Know Who's Really Great?' because of Teu, after I thought about the sheer magnitude of what she does for this club. I'd like to quote my own words, for I almost feel it was a promotion recommendation in and of itself: Let's look at her dossier ID line: She's Left Hand of Justice (one of the absolute hardest jobs in the DJB given the depth of knowledge one needs, and generally a thankless one), she's Quaestor of our wonderful House and has been doing a better job than I ever did at it. She received the position after I had it and, frankly, she's the better one for the job by miles. I couldn't do anywhere near as well as she has. She's also a Professor, grading the CORE exams in the Shadow Academy. Solari's mentioned almost 100 exams graded, and that's a huge number! Utterly mindblowingly huge, considering there's only four exams she grades - Sith, Krath, Obelisk COREs and DB Basics. Think how important those exams are to this club. You have done an exam graded by Teu, guaranteed. There's no way around it. And she has a Dark Sage of Law! Wow! I might not want one but the work needed to get that? Like, daaaaaaaaamn. This on its own speaks a huge story. She does so much in so many important positions that it's difficult not to reward her just for the sheer magnitude of her participation.

That's just the tip of the iceberg, from where I sit. There's plenty of competition participation. I feel that at this rank talking about individual medals is pointless - we all see the big-name awards rolling in. It's natural. There's consistent discussion with her members, finding out what they want, how they'd like to proceed as a House. There's the impeccable organisation, the ability to keep track of what her people do and how to reward them appropriately for their actions. She has a clear guideline of what she expects of me not just as an Aedile but also as a member of her House and she holds me to them and inspires me to be a better person and a better leader because of it. Her ability to be a role model despite a very difficult real-life situation is nothing short of inspiring. Teu's tenacity, resilience, vibrance and selflessness despite whatever is thrown at her is mind-blowing. There's so much one could say about Teu, really, because she is so many things to all of us. She is, frankly, one of my most favourite people in the Brotherhood and has been for a long time. We would all be at a great loss without her leadership and her motivation, and I for one am extremely thankful that she is here with us in Clan Naga Sadow.

I don't think there's much more I can honestly say without repeating the recommendations of others. I feel that Teu's actions speak louder than any recommendation that could possibly be written for her. However, I will say this: Without people like Teu, we would not have this club. For service, for duty, for friendship and kindness, for leadership, for greatness, I am so incredibly proud to recommend Teu for the rank of Equite 4, only one rank below the greatly esteemed Elders. Teu is the kind of person who will one day get there. To take this step is incredible on its own and I am simply thankful that I am here to witness that step, to write a note in the annals of history and leave my thanks for a great woman.

Thank you, Teu. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, for everything you have done for all of us. Welcome to Equite 4 as you have so sorely deserved for so long.

Battlelord Mateus Kelborn, 2014-01-22 11:39:14 UTC

It has been a pleasure to work with Teu since she has come on as QUA for the House. She makes what she wants done clear and always has a vision insight. She is an asset to the House, the Clan and the Brotherhood overall. Fair, kind, easy to deal with and more than competent. Very simply she's a great leader! This Promotion is more than deserved.

Lak Nafri, 2014-01-22 11:39:36 UTC

When you talk about a unit’s identity, fictional roles are a pretty good part of it, but there are also the people. Individuals which have transcended just sitting on a roster to being an actual fixture of their unit. Teu is one such person. She held Rollmaster with CNS for what seemed like forever, making it an actual job instead of just a helper position. She’s passed out more sweets in greeting than any other person has any reason to. Seriously, I’d probably be on insulin if they were real cookies.

More importantly though and in all earnest, she’s been a guiding hand in CNS, someone who’s put in the time and effort to make this place grow. She was instrumental in turning House Naga Sadow back into Clan Naga Sadow, and then just kept going. Her real life has presented her some hurdles but that doesn’t stop her in remaining a proper fixture in this clan. She’s put her blood, sweat, and tears into her home in several leadership roles. I’d like to see her become an Obelisk Primarch in thanks for all that she’s done for us.

Raziel, 2014-01-22 11:39:58 UTC

Teu. I opened her activity list to find a bit more support on why she deserves a promotion. And I was nearly fainting from the sheer amount of activities.

Teu has been and is still a huge asset to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. (I am happy to have her in CNS). Despite her irl giving her a hard time, she has done so much for the Brotherhood: -Hand of Justice -Proconsul -Quaestor -Helped Arcona -Helped the Shadow Academy -Played a lot of ToR

Next to all the rewards she earned, she deserves this promotion a lot! Congratulations Obelisk Primarch Teu!
