Atra is a man of many talents. I brought him on months ago as a Community Helper with the ToR Guild because of his newsletter to his house and clan about ToR, and spreading information about it. He interviewed members of the ToR guild to get their opinions about the different classes in the game. He continued to stay as a Lieutenant and started to fulfill the needs of a raid leader. He lead raids on Tuesday nights to get under-geared members Rakata-Level gear and hopefully get them into progression groups. He then joined my staff as a Magistrate and was reviewing the CF table for it to be evenly balanced between ToR, Diablo 3, and Regular gaming. He and Valhavoc ran through the ToR and Diablo 3 grids before Horizons. Recently though, he's resigned from Magistrate to put his complete focus on leading Naga Sadow through the coming vendetta as well as focusing on being a judge. Thank you for all you done for me Atra, and I know you'll go far with Naga Sadow. Congrats on your Promotion!

~ OPM Fremoc Pepoi, Fist of the Brotherhood

From the start of Atra's leadership career he has been non-stop. He became QUA of House Shar Dakhan at the rank of Jedi Hunter, which is impressive to say the least. His dedication to the clan is inspiring. Atra created and ran a clan feud, helped to define the direction of the clan, and most recently has stepped up to the position of Proconsul. Not an easy task given the immense amount of work ahead of him. He has taken this massive challenge head on and has not stopped. His drive to return the clan to it's former glory can be seen in his every day actions. Just to name a few things he has done outside the clan, Atra has stepped up as an ACC judge and personally worked one on one to help qualify a member who was starting to get discouraged that he was unable to qualify. He is a Lieutenant in the ToR guild, constantly offering help and participating in raids. He is an asset not only to the Clan but to the Brotherhood as a whole. He is more then deserving of this promotion. Thank you Atra, for inspiring us all to do more.

  • Kalia Pepoi, Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos

Atra is one of those members who reminds me much of myself in my early Brotherhood years; he's incredibly motivated to help the club and by extension his Clan at every chance given. Since his appointment to Proconsul three months ago, that same drive he had as Quaestor has not changed and he continues to actively pursue any chance to awaken the members of Naga Sadow through a variety of competitions and events; such as his large part in the planning and production of the Chasing Horizons feud with Scholae Palatinae. Additionally he has been personally spearheading the redevelopment of the Order of the Black Guard, a in-clan program designed to reward members for their activity.

Outside of Naga Sadow, Atra has worked hard alongside the other members of the Fist's staff to re-balance some of the Cluster of Fire tables as well as to create specialized groups specifically tasked with raiding for mid-level gear. He has also been looking into other games for the Brotherhood to participate in, such as the MOBA Smite. While Atra is an active leader, he also puts his money where his mouth is and leads from the front. In Horizons, Atra was one of our most active members and placed second overall for Naga Sadow, while also having honourable mention by placing within the top three on several events.

It is my honour to recommend Atra Ventus, our Proconsul and fearless leader, for promotion to Obelisk Prelate with all rights and privileges. Congratulations, you've earned it my friend.

Exarch Methyas Pepoi L'eonheart Consul Emeritus, Naga Sadow

From the day he first joined Clan Naga Sadow, Atra has been a driving force both as a highly engaged member in himself and more recently as one of the key members of the Clan Summit.

If it's a fiction event, Atra writes for it. If it's a gaming event, Atra plays for it. Whatever the call is, Atra meets it. This is the kind of activity that defines a strong leader who leads by example, as opposed one simply pontificating and expecting others to practice what they preach when they aren't prepared to do it themselves.

Moreover, Atra achieves this in addition to being a very hands-on member of the Summit. For example, in the recent Interclouse Feud with House Scholae Palatinae, Atra was involved in much of the initial planning for the story, competitions, and so on. And then, even though he was helping oversee the event, he still found time to take part in the run-on himself as well!

Further, even with all this going on, Atra has also been working closely with Locke and the other members of the Summit in updating and developing much of the Clan's older lore and wiki archives -- a feat that I know from past experience can sometimes develop into a Pandora's Box of a time drain, and yet Atra is simultaneously managing to take part in the research for, for example, the recent fleet reset and an upcoming Black Guard revamp, all whilst doing all of the other activity and planning already discussed above.

And even having said all this, it still only touches the surface. Whether helping mentor new members of the Summit like Kairus and Roxas, or training new members like Necro to Knighthood, it would be impossible to cover everything exhaustively. In the end, however, one thing remains certain: Atra is truly a powerhouse, and the kind of member -- and leader -- that every Clan, House or otherwise always wants and it therefore is for these reasons, along with the countless others, that I extend my support to this recommendation.

Darth Vexatus Son of Sadow

Since his last elevation on 8/25/12 Atra Ventus has been everything a Dark Jedi could aspire to be. He has earned: many, many Clusters of Fire, six crescents, 9 pendants of Blood, 3 Clusters of Ice, 2 Steel Crosses, a Silver Nova, a Gold Nova, a Dark Cross, and 13 Seals of Affliction. He has served admirably as Quaestor of Shar Dakhan and then Proconsul of Clan Naga Sadow as well as Magistrate to the Fist. That’s a lot of work. Atra was the heavy lifter on Chasing Horizons and did a Lion’s share of the organizing. Having been behind the scenes of a major event, I can tell you this is a lot of work. He has mentored Necro to DJK. He is always brainstorming on CNS lore and has helped to keep everything up to date even when it wasn’t on his watch officially. He has acted as mentor to Kairus (QUA) and Roxas (BTL) as they settled within their positions in the Clan. Atra is key in the new Black Guard revamp and overhaul as it becomes something more in line with the Brotherhood overall. He is highly visible, willing to work, and puts out results. He works and works hard. His effort, time, work put in and love of the Club is that of an Equite above his current station. In my opinion he should be elevated forthwith.

~DA Macron Sadow, Consul Emeritus

Atra is the kind of committed leader and member the DB always needs. In my recent interactions with CNS and Atra specifically, I have been very impressed by his work ethic, attitude and capabilities. There is no doubt that without his input and work the recent CNS/HSP feud would not have been able to run. He has a level head and a clear focus for bettering not only CNS, but the entire DB. The jump to EQ2 is another big one, and one that shouldn’t be given lightly. Atra has shown that he is more than capable as a leader and as a guiding voice for new members. It is my pleasure to add my recommendation for his promotion to Prelate. Congratulations!

Xen’Mordin Vismorsus QUA of Scholae Palatinae

Atra’s dedication to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood is one of the shining examples I would provide to our newest members, as a level they should desire to achieve. His desire for the expansion and improvement of his Clan is insatiable, and his energy levels nigh inexhaustible. He is a constant boon to his Clan, providing both intelligent advice, and active support when needed. His presence in Star Wars: The Old Republic is well beyond par, and he is a primary member of our leading progression raid group. For someone who has been here all of five minutes, he has shown us what a true Dark Jedi Brotherhood member should be like, and should aspire to, and I fully endorse his promotion to the rank of Obelisk Prelate.

Sith Battlemaster Archangel Praetor to the FIST Officer in SWTOR Guild

Atra possesses a seemingly unending dedication to Clan Naga Sadow. He has proven this time and time again by undertaking roles of responsibility starting with Quaestor of House Shar Dakhan, which he took on just before being promoted to EQ1, and now as Proconsul. His efforts to keep the membership engaged have been useful guides to my leadership style as he passed the keys to HSD to me in December. He’s more than just competitions, reports, etc though; he is a key player when it comes to the development of Naga Sadow lore. Lore isn’t another “job” for Atra; one needs only to read his fictions, run-ons, or ACC matches to prove that statement.

Atra is a true and tested leader that will always help the DJB membership develop their persona/lore and keep those he leads actively engaged in the club’s offerings. I without hesitation recommend Atra be elevated to the rank of Equite 2.

OT Kairus Quaestor of House Shar Dakhan

Atra is a powerhouse and just jumps into his work and doesn't stop. He is always full of helpful advice for anyone that needs it and when he says "open door policy" he means it. It's almost as if he is just ripped it off of the hinges. When he was QUA I would go to him for fiction stuff or ACC stuff all the time, and now with him as PCON I can see that he has taken what he did as QUA and does it on a wider scale. I enjoy working with him and am looking forward to doing more with him.

Roxas Buurenaar

Atra Ventus is one of the most dedicated and active leaders I know. He is or has been highly involved in a number of Clan projects, as well as been Magistrate to the Fist and a Judge in the ACC. Beyond all this, Atra continues to be a highly active member, taking home two Steel Crosses for high levels of participation in different events. I'm really glad to have Atra on Summit, even if he likes blue a little too much for my tastes.

One project Atra was heavily involved in was planning the Chasing Horizons event we did with House Scholae Palatinae. Not only did Atra begin the discussion on this, but he also kept it moving when it began to stagnate. He also created many of the competitions for it, and used feedback from many different members he had talked to to ensure that these would be competitions people wanted to do, rather than just what we thought sounded good. I would have felt lost at times without him, and I know that Xen also appreciated Atra's efforts a lot. Furthermore, Atra has been essential in developing the Clan's lore. When it comes to going through old wiki articles or coming up with ways to integrate something into future projects, Atra is always involved with a solid opinion that demonstrates to everyone else how a solid Clan Summit member should be. In addition, Atra came up with a new proposal for the aging Black Guard system. He spent a lot of time with the other members of Summit working out kinks, writing information for it, and creating a graphic to go with it. To put it mildly, Atra is a smart and highly active Summit member, and an amazing Proconsul to have.

In addition to this, Atra still finds time to be one of our most active members. As mentioned above, he received a Steel Cross on two separate occasions for being one of the most involved and active members in two separate events; one for the Summer Invasion feud with HSP and PLA, and one for Horizons itself. He is quick to promote and participate in any competition that goes on in CNS. Finally, he still found time beyond this to work with the Fist and to be a judge in the ACC, which is no easy feat.

Finally, Atra is always available to help people and is frequently on Gtalk and IRC. He is lightning fast in everything he does, but responds especially quickly to emails of any nature. Atra has also done a lot to help newer Summit members such as Kairus and Roxas. I believe that what I have talked about above, as well as the recs above show that Atra is not only dedicated to Clan Naga Sadow, but also to the Brotherhood as a whole, wherever he can lend his skills to it's betterment. This in mind, I would like to recommend the Dark Wind for promotion to the rank of Obelisk Prelate! Enjoy the new points on your ACC, your custom lightsaber, and PLEASE don't be mean to me next time we meet in the ACC! Congratulations, Atra!

Primary reason

Ood Bnar has to be one of, if not the, most active and dedicated members of the Shadow Academy Staff. His tenure to date is impressive, having served in one form or another for nearly seven years now (over three of which while at his current rank.) His tally for marked exams has just reached the 900 mark and counting. His dedication is so great that he received the greatest honorary degree the Academy can bestow, the Dark Sage: Service, over two years ago. Despite already having already earned this token of appreciation, his work has not wavered. Ood is currently tasked with the role of Professor of the Department of CORE Studies, the Department which is often the first to be visited by our newest members. Having only been assigned to this department for a short time, he is already planning to re-write the courses under his charge and update them. Ood currently maintains a turnaround time on grading of under 24 hours, one of the fastest turnarounds of all Shadow Academy Staff. He is constantly thinking up ways to improve both his department and the Academy as a whole. His primary motivation being the students who come through the Academy, especially those newest to the Brotherhood as a whole. Recently he noted that students completing Dark Brotherhood Basics are passing the course, but failing to understand ID lines. Realizing this is a problem he is taking the time to email these students to better explain the concepts and is planning an expansion to that section of the course to ensure future students come away with a good understanding. Ood is always at the ready to take on new tasks, even if his plate may already be overflowing, and somehow he manages to deal with the workload and deliver above expectations every time. He is currently undertaking the task of writing a series of mini courses for the Grind Path, which will be the first courses a new Initiate comes into contact with. These courses involve splitting up and majorly expanding specific sections of the current DB Basics course and he has even taken it upon himself to get in touch with certain units to ensure he is presenting accurate information; such as talking with the leaders of Odan-Urr to ensure he has their ranks properly represented. Ood, you're a great asset to the Shadow Academy and I hope to see you reach your 1000th exam and even the end of your first decade with the Academy. I am proud and honored to be able to see you move one step closer to being the great Elder that I know you will one day be.

~ Solari, Headmaster

Ood has been a part of Arcona for almost four months now and since that time, he has been one of my stalwart active Equites. Ood is one of those members that I can rely on to complete any given task and is often the first to volunteer his time when members of the Clan are asked for their input. Since joining Galeres, Ood has been a regular gamer, encouraging gamers from other units to participate in flashpoints on ToR. His actions have garnered him 156 Clusters of Fire for doing 22 Flashpoints with DB members. It has also gotten him a Pendant of Blood. Ood participated in Horizons as well, despite going through finals and illness, showing his dedication to his unit and to the Dark Brotherhood. He was rewarded for his time by a Dark Cross, but he has also helped me immensely in the wiki projects I have going for Galeres, helping to update and expand on Galeres’ cover organisation. Ood has been a big help in this, taking a lead spot without even being asked to. Added to this, Ood has been a major player in the updates going on to Arcona’s OoB at this current moment in time, creating 26, that’s right…26 NPCs that he is currently fleshing out who will eventually be leading ships, squadrons, and other notable military personnel. That’s not all, as I’m sure Solari and Wuntila will have already told you. Ood has been involved in the Shadow Academy for almost 7 years in some shape or form and he recently marked his 900th exam during his time as a Professor. Often we don’t see people getting rewarded for their work in the Shadow Academy outside of a Maven or a Dark Cross. So I think it is nice to see Ood’s dedication, his work ethic and his eagerness to help young/new members to the DB by helping them to understand how the Dark Brotherhood works. I’m honoured to write this recommendation for Ood B’nar to be promoted to Krath Epis. Congratulations, Ood!

~ Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar, Quaestor of House Galeres

If someone asked me to name one person who has been a consistent, active, and productive member of the Brotherhood since before I joined, my instinctual response would be: "Ood." This man has become an example to the Brotherhood, a driven, ambitious, capable, caring, approachable individual who is always willing to give any time from his day to help out, regardless of whether it’s aiding an apprentice with the SA, for example, or the Grand Master. Honestly, I've never known someone to work as hard so uniformly. You kind of come to expect people to work a little harder when they're trying to make an impression. They tend to be eager, active, willing and cooperative. They tend to do a much better job than, say, if they were asked by a journeyman to talk them through a particular issue. Ood, on the other hand, gives everyone equal time, equal patience and equal advice. He's a giving, generous person. Not with material goods, but with something more precious: his time. And to anyone, for anything. There's a little story I'd like to address here. I know, I know, the MAA staff hate 'fillers', but I think this is pertinent in exemplifying who Ood really is, and what he has given back to this club. When I re-joined the club back in 2009 after a two year hiatus, Ood was the first person to greet me. I was a GRD then. I'd re-joined a unit that was not the same unit I'd left. Ood was the first person to come to me in PM - even though I was in Plagueis at the time, and he was in Scholae - and offer me help and support, given that I was 'new'. He also made a point of looking my activities up and noticed I'd posted a particular video up on YouTube that had reached something like 11,000 views. He reported this straight to Aabsdu who got me a Scull of Indoctrination, and then helped me find my feet back in the club. None of this was reported to my summit, none of it was reported to his. This was simply an act of kindness, a truly remarkable example of WHY Ood is such an amazing member. Yes, so far my recommendation has been a giant exposition into why Ood is so wonderful, and not what he has done to qualify him for the rank of Equite 3. I will now try to use a few examples of Ood's talents to reify this recommendation; I'll leave the heavy activity stuff for the other lead recommendations. To truly exemplify what Ood has done, one must look beyond the Clouse level. Yes, he has served successfully as a Proconsul, and all kinds of other fun unit-level leadership gigs, but honestly? All of that pales in comparison to his dedication to the Brotherhood ticking over. The activity he has demonstrated both within the SA, and as a genuinely giving member, ultimately defines him. He has been a veritable bastion of activity in the Shadow Academy. He has served in one form another within the SA for just shy of SEVEN YEARS. Yes, seven. Yesterday he graded his 900th exam. This is a truly remarkable, yet tangible piece of evidence that goes to demonstrate just how much of a vested interest this man has within this club. Similarly, since joining Arcona, Ood has shown why he is one of the stalwart, one of the elite, one of the Brotherhood's finest. He literally strolled in, introduced himself, made friends immediately, and said, 'So, where's the work?'. Well, maybe not literally, but you get the gist. He came in and went nuts. He's currently involved in a wiki project pertaining to the restructuring of Arcona's navy. A project he volunteered for, and has, in all honesty, done the lion's share of work for. Out of ten volunteers, Ood has stepped up, written a huge number of wiki pages, some live and some not, and also created a document to track everyone's progress and assign particular tasks. All of this off his own back, even AFTER I assigned a project leader. And, quite frankly, he's done a much better job than said project leader, and hasn't kicked up a fuss. I think that's one of the defining features of Ood's Brotherhood career. He doesn't make a song and dance about things. He just gets on and does whatever he has planned with absolutely no want for reward. Often people who do that get overlooked for those who do make a habit of bitching and moaning. And it’s not right. Ood has done an awful lot for this Brotherhood. He's one of the people that make sure things keep ticking over. He's part of the fabric that keeps members interested. And it is for this reason that I absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend that he be promoted to the rank of Equite 3. Congratulations, Ood. You've earned it.

~ Wuntila Entar Arconae, Consul of Clan Arcona

I have only recently had the privilege of getting to know Ood. As a member he has an amazing drive to see not only the unit he is a member of succeed, but ultimately the Club itself. This is evident when looking at his contributions while on the Shadow Academy Staff. Nearly seven years of work invested in assisting the development of new members, over 900 courses graded, and he still finds the time and energy to take on leadership positions as Proconsul and Quaestor (total of 15 Months of experience in those two positions as an Archpriest). In addition to these activities Ood had mentored Zeron (Dossier 8003) through to Dark Jedi Knight, again showing his commitment to the Club and its members. Considering his contributions through Leadership, as well as those with the Shadow Academy Staff I believe that Ood has met and exceeded the requirements for Equite 3. Congratulations Ood! Well done!
