Orv is probably the last great hope the DB has to ever realising the dream of an up to date PHP site that isn’t an idiosyncratic amalgamation of tens of coders from different corners of the earth, each with nigh indecipherable coding styles. He is doing the work of an entire professional team and once more, he seems enthusiastic about it, which is staggering when one takes into account the sheer monotony of the task before him: re-coding thousands upon thousands of lines of code so that the overall appearance of the site doesn’t change much. It’s a thankless job, demonstrably as the vast majority of the membership will never know the difference, yet it is necessary. Orv, as I’ve said, is our last hope to have an up-to-date site, but he’s also our last great coder. This man should not be overlooked for anything, as we need to let him know he’s appreciated. <br><br> Almost every coder I know is a cantankerous egomaniac that, due to the stressful nature of their occupation, is not pleasant to speak to. I include members of my RL family in this description. Orv is the antithesis of this preconception. He is always demure, polite, easy –going and unaffected by the BS infighting that litters the DB. He is a brilliant example of what every member should aspire to be. Good on ya, Orv. ~Sashar Arconae, Consul of Arcona<br><br> Orv has been SCL for around a year now, and in that time his tenure has affected the Brotherhood at large in many ways. As a former member of Arcona, I was well aware of his skill as a coder long before he hit the DC, but non-the-less wasn't surprised when he was appointed after Jac stepped down. He's had to deal with a wide range of problems since then, including the ever famous crashes of late 2008-early 2009. He handled all of these swiftly and let us at the Shadow Academy get back to business as usual. From this he's taken it upon himself to start re-coding the entire site as he goes along into PHP. With all the bugs aside, Orv continues to bring the Brotherhood new and exciting ways of enjoying what we like doing best, and that's nerding it up. Every idea whether it be from a Battle Team Leader, or the Headmaster, has to eventually go through the SCL and his staff to be implemented. For his work as SCL over the last year, I'm happy to add in on Orv's promotion to third rank in the Equates. Congratulations. ~ Taigikori Aybara Dupar, Praetor to the Headmaster<br><br> What can I say about Orv that hasn’t already been said by everyone else here? His dedication to maintaining and upgrading the DB site is beyond contest, his work his more than impressive and he seems to get some of the greatest feats accomplished with ease and time to spare. He has worked on many projects that others have looked at and placed on the back burner, while still managing to have time for the little issues that need resolving, (i.e. helping me with an issue with HRLD uploads).<br><br>He has been focused, dedicated, and more visual than many Seneschals I have seen. He is constantly updating the DB as to his status on things, looking to make improvements without someone asking him to do so and has performed his duties above and beyond the call. I believe for the amount of work he has done and for his steadfast dedication towards improving the Brotherhood in general, Orv deserves the rank of Krath Epis. Congratulations! ~Shikyo Keibatsu, Herald of the Brotherhood I had the honor to work with Orv on several coding projects for the DJB and I can safely say he is an excellent programmer, team manager, and DJB member, who dedicates so much time to this club that it's almost unhealthy. Now Orv is leading a team of coders into a task many have tried and failed before: recoding our website to PHP. Orv has already done so much with this project that for the first time we can actually hope that we will have a better, faster and more secure website done in PHP. For taking on a titanic job, leading a small team with excellent management skills, and for his day-to-day contributions to the DJB, I believe Orv thoroughly deserves a promotion. Congratulations. ~Karel Tarentae <br><br> I'd like to thank Orv personally for his work in the Brotherhood. Someone who combines maturity, good humor, and talent all in an easy-going nature is a rare thing in life. In this club, rarer still. So I appreciate not only Orv's work but his attitude as well. As far as I've seen it's a model for new members and a reminder for seasoned ones as well. I've been fortunate to work with Orv during the Ninth Great Jedi War and his work then as Seneschal was as timely and fantastic as it is now.<br><br>But Orv's talents stand out as much as his congenial nature and are deserving of their own mention. As a member I am thankful for his work on the Clan Force Powers. I look forward to getting to use that system. The PHP re-code is a massive, but necessary, task many would probably not accept and would prefer to operate in the status quo. The Robe & Saber selector improvements are most welcome. No longer do my custom items disappear when wanting to try out something new from the Herald. And I greatly look forward to the possession system of which Orv is an enormous part.<br><br>I also have to mention Orv's fantastic artwork he shares with many members of his clan and a few lucky others. They are great original pieces that really add something to the otherwise bland tapestry here of repetitively poached artwork. It's amazing to see someone so gifted and capable spend their free time here with us, but we are fortunate he does. Very few members have contributed to the welfare of the club as Orv has done and fewer still are so deserving of this small honor on our part.<br><br>Please elevate this outstanding member of the club to the next level so he will be that much closer to the ranks of the Elders where he belongs. ~Raken, Quaestor of Revan<br><br> Over the last few weeks, I have seen a lot of things getting ramped up. One of the people that has been instrumental in this is Orv, our resident Seneschal and Code-God. His work has been spectacular in not only actually facilitating the conversion of our site to php (heck, in the last two weeks, he redid the saber and robe scripts to convert them in an evening), but he's also found the time to work up a site for the RoS and help me sort out how we're going to do match reporting and even help out with some really cool stuff for the Background of the RoS. His work has been constant and very high quality...and I am more than happy to be able to promote Orv to his next rank. Congratulations on your elevation, Orv. ~Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith.

I would like to call the Brotherhood's attention to Sarak Jemaane. Sarak is unique throughout the entire Dark Brotherhood in that his is the only officially recognized Yuuzhan Vong character we have. He alone and no others. This honor was not given to him lightly, rather he worked for it by convincing Grand Master Muz Ashen he was suited to playing such a controversial character for a clutch of Dark Jedi. But convince Muz he did as his performance in the club and in House Revan has convinced me he is worthy of the prestigious elevation to the Equite ranks.

Sarak has worked for his various Clans, Houses and Battleteams at the rank of Dark Jedi Knight for 18 months. In that time he has remade not only his character, but his attitude and outlook on his time in the Brotherhood. Both of which I can only describe as fantastic. I had known of him previously and his remarkable turn-around in demeanor is exactly what I hope running this club in a professional manner inspires in new and old members alike.

Since beginning House Revan six months ago Sarak has been at our disposal willing to help with anything required of him. He has helped me bring several wiki articles relating to the Ninth Great Jedi War up to date. Namely articles dealing with the Armed Forces of the Iron Throne. Not for his benefit or Revan's, but for the benefit of the club.

He applied to Sarin and I several times for leadership within the House which he eventually earned becoming Revan's first ever Cell Leader. He has helped me personally to organize material for the House, create competitions on-demand for our recent influx of Journeymen, stay in contact with new members (in many cases within minutes of being asked) as well as guide these new members in their early stages of development.

Since attaining Dark Jedi Knight 18 months ago he has earned two Seals of Remembrance, 12 Clusters of Fire, 13 Crescents, two Dark Crosses, and an Anteian Cross. He has also run 7 competitions, and passed 12 Shadow Academy courses.

Sarak is dependable, trustworthy, motivated to make not only his House, but the entire club a better place and he asks nothing in return. He exemplifies House Revan's ideals and I do not recommend him for this elevation lightly, but wholeheartedly.

--Raken, Independent House Revan

In the short time that I have known him he has consistently been an active presence within House Revan. He joined us rather boldly, a knight jumping into a group of Equites and has since had more of an influence than his rank would suggest. He always has a positive attitude and a considered opinion on matters that may come up. He is also always willing to lend a hand to new members. He is open to advice, and that is a major skill in the ranks of Brotherhood leadership that I wish some others would display.

In these recommendations much is based on actual tangible displays, so here is what Sarak has done since his promotion to Dark Jedi Knight:

Earned 4 Topaz Crescents, 4 Quartz Crescents, 3 Emerald Crescents, 2 Sapphire Crescents, 12 CoFs, 2 Seals of Remembrance from the ‘08 IG’s, 2 Dark Crosses for his service both in House Marka Ragnos and more recently in House Revan, an Anteian Cross for his stellar competition performance during a feud in Clan Naga Sadow.

Most importantly however Sarak has always been willing to help the minute we even think about starting a project in House Revan. Raken and I know that if we ever need a hand with anything we are working on that we can go to Sarak and he will be willing to help, even if it is just to brainstorm ideas. It is this kind of dedication and service that embodies the Equite class. I am extremely pleased to welcome Sarak into a whole new world within the brotherhood.

Celahir Erinos, heh. If you'd asked anyone in the clan other than me who he was before the GJW, they'd have told you he was a Tarenti transfer who didn't seem to do much, as he'd been a JH for four years and (other than IRC presence) seemed to be a low-key member content to idle. Boy did he prove them wrong. Celahir was instrumental in the GJW codebreakers, as well as participating where he could in other events, such as the Poetry and Graphics etc. On top of that, he made it to DJK after the war and then participated in every event in Arcona. Literally. In the Great Hunt, he was the third top scorer in the clan (second only to his brothers Zandro and Juda) and set a sterling example to his Battleteam, Soulfire (a prestigious title within the clan, as the BTL for Soulfire is often fast-tracked for promotion) which he led ably for a few months. Also, he was able to actually get activity from the old timers in Soulfire such as Malidir and Zandro outside of a Vendetta, which in itself is remarkable, as nothing short of an earthquake is likely to rouse them outside of a war, so mad props to him for that. <br><br>

After serving with dinstinction as Soulfire's BTL, he moved onto Quaestor of House Qel-Droma - a formidable job, as his predecessor set high standards. Celahir slipped naturally into the role and due in large part to his popularity in the clan (having no issues with ANY of the members in Arcona, in fact his easy-going nature is something of a signature within the cland and a WELCOME change to all the in-fighting that seems to infect my little clan of sociopaths and primeordial queens). Celahir is now a rising star in Arcona, and has swiftly become indispensable as an assistant (given that my Proconsul has RL issues atm, so I'm without any clan-level attaches). He is always available to give his opinion on anything clan-related, he often helps out gathering information for me, and I can rely on him to speak his mind, even when he disagrees with me. He is the voice of reason and temerity withing the clan, without compromising our reputation or image and is everything an Arconan should aspire to be. This promotion is well-deserved and I hope it'll be the first of many I get to write. <br><br>

Well done bro,<br><br>

Shardara has completed the requirements for promotion to the rank of Jedi Hunter. She has participated in 10 competitions ranging from Gladius Poetry and Trivia to Awesome Stick Figures and Caption Han Solo. She just completed her Leadership Fundamentals SA Course, earning an impressive score of 100. She has run a competition entitled "The Ultimate Female Jedi" which involved creating NPCs. She has also earned two Dark Crosses for her hard work. I believe she is ready for promotion to the rank of Jedi Hunter.
