The Bromance is Strong in This One
Prompt A

After having spent months in The Circle, orbiting Aliso, Azmodius was somewhat relieved to be called back to the planet’s surface. As he stepped off the shuttle with his top 2 trainees, Mears and Obsidian, the taskmaster felt a mixture of emotions. The last time he was in Aliso City, it had just been rediscovered and nature had taken over, creating a quiet and peaceful environment. At the same time, he couldn’t help but feel impressed with the progress in just a few months.

“Alright guys, go ahead and check out your rooms at The Pinnacle. After that you’re free to do as you please. If you need anything come find me”, he ordered.

“Where will…” Mears began before he was interrupted by Obsidian, “The cantina, where else?”

As the two made their way to The Pinnacle as instructed, Azmodius turned in the direction of the market sector and proceeded to the cantina at the far end. The city was now full of life. The warrior could barely hear his own thoughts over the bartering of the shopkeepers and their rehearsed sales pitches.

“Get out! Go you mangy mutt! You’re scaring away my customers!” a nearby food cart merchant barked at a mid-sized stray dog that had been begging for some scraps. The dog bowed his head as the merchant kicked it away.

“Stop!” Azmodius boomed as he approached the angry merchant.

“You too, peasant. No money, get out and take that beast with you before I call the security forces!” the merchant yelled, noting the exposing Dathomiri robes and ragged binding across the eyes of the Warrior.

“”Oh really?” he mused as he approached the canine, ignoring the ranting of the shopkeeper. The dog backed from Azmodius, sensing the Taskmaster’s powerful aura. Azmodius crouched and communicated his intentions to calm the beast before approaching it and placing his hands on its side. “you should be ok, buddy”, he spoke softly. The shopkeeper grew enraged at being ignored and swung a metal pipe at the Warrior from behind. Azmodius effortlessly caught it in one hand, without moving any other part of his body. As he turned to stand and face the shopkeeper, the realization set in that this was no peasant.

“wh-wh-who a-are y-y-you?!” the terrified merchant stuttered as the warrior lifted him from the ground by the front of his shirt and brought him face to face.

“An Omen”, the Warrior spoke as he flung the merchant at his cart, smashing it in the process. “If I so much as hear of you mistreating the citizens of Aliso City”, Azmodus paused, turning his head to the dog, “I will return and you will face the full extent of my wrath.”

Leaving the merchant and dog behind, the taskmaster continued on his way to the cantina. Outside, he felt a familiar presence.

“Should have known he'd be here.” he thought to himself as he stepped inside and sat at the bar beside his former master, Furios.

“R&R assignment? Wonder what inspired that”, the Epicanthix joked as he poured a shot of vodka in a second glass.

“You knew I was here”, Azmodius spoke, placing the empty glass down on the counter.

“From the moment your shuttle landed”, his master responded, the edges of his mouth curling slightly.

The two Obelisk shared drinks and reminisced for about an hour before they felt the ground shake from what could only be explosions in the distance. As the two made their way towards the site as fast as they could, another charge went off nearby, burying them in the rubble.

a few moments passed, and Azmodius awoke to a slobbering tongue on his face.

“We came as soon as we could.” Mears began, “We were ordered to meet with you before pushing back the droids.”

“We wouldn't have found you if it wasn't for this dog barking at the pile of rubble you were under”, Obsidian continued, “seems you've made a friend in the hours since our arrival.”

“Az, take these two through the market sector and push from the south, Ill engage directly and hold them there until you arrive”, Furios ordered before taking off an incredible speed towards the location of the bombing.

“You heard him, looks like this R&R has turned into live combat training”, the Warrior mused, giddy with excitement.

The three made their way through the market sector as quickly as they could, ordering any remaining civilians to safety. As they approached the rendezvous point, they could see the towering epicanthix carving a clear path through the swarm of droids while Ascendant Forces picked off the remainders with heavy blaster fire.

“hang back and assist the troops, I want you both to take note of what you're about to see”, Azmodius spoke with a slight smile before rushing into the swarm.

“You ever think the taskmaster may be a bit overzealous?” Mears asked his fellow student. “All the time but, he does seem to know what he's doing. Furios was pretty intense as a master from what I hear”, Obsidian replied as the two made their way to the Ascendant troops.

Azmodius was thrilled. The months of statics in The Circle had made him anxious for a battle, even if they were B1 battle droids. Meeting up with his master, the two Obeslisk dispatched thousands of droids in moments. Their synchronicity, having developed over years of intense training and battles, proved far more than a match for the simple droids. When the fighting had quelled, the master and student turned towards each other and clasped their hands together, nodding to each other in respect and admiration of the other’s prowess.

Having witnessed the entire scene, Mears and Obsidian, exchanged looks of amazement and discomfort. “Those two sure have a strange relationship for Dark Jedi” Mears remarked.

“Most definitely”, Obsidian replied, “But you have to admit, that was quite an impressive display of carnage.”
