Since taking over a Consul Locke has done a lot to improve the effectiveness of the Summit, the communication level between leaders, and the overall moral of the clan. Even before becoming Consul Locke was very proactive as a leader and in general. As Proconsul he help Macron guide the clan in a new direction, he provide the clan membership with activities, and he even help the QUAs and RM daily with things like awarding members, promoting members, types of competitions to run. He was also a very active himself participating in competitions, placing in a few, posting in ROs, among other things. As Consul Locke has done a great job with keeping tabs on his leaders. He sends weekly emails to check up on everyone. He encourages communication between leaders and their members and promotes any activities that he can. Locke has defiantly become a fine leader and is an outstanding members of this Clan and the Brotherhood. I herby recommend Grand Cross of the Dark Side to our Consul, Locke Sonji. Congrats!

~ SBL Jeric Cyrin, Quaestor of HMR

There is much I could say about Locke, but the easiest perspective to choose is from my time as a Journeyman. It didn’t take long to get in touch with Locke, and as far as leaders go, he was probably the most hands-on and in your face I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t get away from him, in a good way, and we were always in contact on various chat programs. In this way, he was always available for questions and was quick to answer. He made my time working through the promotions more enjoyable, not to mention easier. He is an exemplary leader and I’ve seen him do the same for many others. He is smart, hardworking, and well deserving of any and all recognition. Except for this whole “purple” thing… I don’t know what would drive a man to pick that over Blue. Very strange, very strange indeed. They say it’s the colour of royalty and I would have to say he wears it well. As Con I see him doing great things for his Clan, beyond the lines of communication he has already formed and upheld. He truly leads, he doesn’t manage.

Following his appointment as Proconsul last year, Locke has been a powerhouse on the Summit of Clan Naga Sadow. In his professional capacity, Locke always performs his administrative duties swiftly, dealing with all the gritty tasks of Summit leadership with diplomacy. Recently, he has also begun to bring back the tradition of fictional updates in his reports, much like we all regularly see in the various Dark Council reports. Behind the scenes, Locke has also been a strong voice on the Conclave, not bowing the the pressure of the voices of the past, but having the strength of his own convictions to see through the needs of the Clan of today, something he continues to demonstrate in his new role as Consul.

When Locke's away from the office, he also excels as a fully participating member of the Dark Brotherhood, as is demonstrated by his extensive medal collection. From regular Clusters of Fire and Clusters of Ice, Locke is always leading by example, taking part in the activities that he wants to see others follow his lead and join in as well, with him clocking up regular Crescents on an almost weekly basis sometimes. To look at just one example, he currently is taking part in the Ambitions run-on from the VOICE's office, as well as taking part in the internal Clan run-on.

For his constant activity and drive to develop the Clan further, Locke has proven himself both an exception member and a worthy leader for Clan Naga Sadow, and I hereby extend my recommendation for this award.

Dark Prophet Darth Vexatus Son of Sadow

I have known Locke for several years, I was his Master during his time as a Journeyman and i have grown to respect him not only as a friend but as a leader with in the Clan. I have been there to watch him grow from a quiet behind the scenes type of a person to someone who is hands on in how the clan is ran. Even in the short time that he got Consul he took the position and ran with it. He has pushed heavily for a more activity central leadership, its not good enough to just preach being active, he practices what he preaches and expects those under his command to follow his lead. He has helped create and run the current Festival that is running in Naga Sadow. He himself has earned a staggering 13 crescents of various levels, and has secured himself Seal of Loyalty for his dedication to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. I recommend Locke Sonjie for a Grand Cross of the Dark Side, congrats my friend. -Teu Pepoi CNS Proconsul

In the nearly five months since his last award, Locke has accomplished a lot. Though his stepping down means that he only served as Consul three months of that time, his efforts and its effects cannot be denied. As Consul and comrade, he worked with every member of our Summit at one point or another, helping us to all better serve the Clan.

If only I could detail in greater detail the specifics of our interactions I would, but Locke was a constant in the Clan as Consul up until he stepped down recently. He has helped to shape myself as a leader, and been more than willing to give the full breadth of his knowledge and experience to those who ask.

In the last nearly five months, he has played many games of Heroes of the Storm with fellow DB'ers, taken part in a fair number of Clan-telegram trivia events, helped me as Rollmaster to brainstorm how to run and improve the former Arbiters of Sadow competitions, keeping the ship as a leader while still remaining competitive. Out of 43 competitions in which he took part, he earned a Crescent with a Diamond Star, a Crescent with an Ruby Star, seven Crescents with an Amethyst Star and four Crescents with a Sapphire Star.

His willingness to participate as part of a team has been well demonstrated in the 364 Clusters of Earth he has earned playing Heroes of the Storm over 44 PVE activities and he has taken up arms in combat with his fellows in Jedi Academy to gather a fair 25 Clusters of Fire over 6 PVP matches. He has also demonstrated his willingness to stretch his skills a bit, having earned 7 Clusters of Graphite in artistic endeavors. Showing off another of his strengths, Locke has written some 8741 words of fiction since his last recognition, bringing in an additional 23 Clusters of Ice when you also account for the 6021 words- out of 6 posts- he has written in run-ons.

Some people get worked up primarily in the number of shiny baubles we might accrue, the various accolades orthe glory to be gained from various activities, but it always seemed that Locke tried to have fun. His service was for the greater good. He kept up regular reports to keep our members in the now, a total of four, during his time as Consul. As I rack my brain, I really wish that I could illustrate things more even than what he has done before his last recognition, if only to show my appreciation for the service he has done to my Clan since before I joined the Brotherhood. The very least I can do is to present you with this small token of appreciation from myself and the rest of the Clan Summit in the form of this Grand Cross. Congratulations, Locke. I hope you will continue to shine on.

Additional reasons

Since his last reward, Locke served as Consul of Naga Sadow for 3 months. His time as Consul was spent mentoring me, in preparation of replacing him. In addition to this, he helped to organise a fictional storyline, completely changed Naga Sadow's fictional backstory to bring Dlarit back in line with the Warhost and spent close to 60+ hours working on creating a fleet for Naga Sadow within Possessions, this saw over 2,000 messages passed between Locke, Malik and myself on Telegram while creating this, along with countless spreadsheets. Locke's obsession with Star Wars ships came in extremely handy to Naga Sadow, allowing us to field a well rounded fleet that will serve the Clan well into the future.

Locke has also been at the forefront of Naga Sadow's obsession with Heroes of the Storm. Taking advantage of this free game, he has enabled and encouraged members to participate and help increase Naga Sadow's gaming presence.

Despite stepping down, Locke has not faded into the background, he has continued to dominate in events, coming in 5th place in the recent New Ties co-op event with Tarentum, as well as originally helping to create it and the premise behind it before he stepped down as Consul.

Locke's dedication to Naga Sadow is extremely clear and his time spent sacrificed to the Clan and Club needs rewarding. As such, I'm pleased to recommend this Grand Cross to Locke.

Congratulations!

Consul of Naga Sadow

As Consul of Clan Naga Sadow in the first two months of 2017, Locke oversaw a period of growth and activity in his unit. Across the entire quarter, CNS moved ahead in several metrics and was overall quite strong, particularly in the number of entries to competitions, where the unit saw more than 500 competition entries in the quarter. Since his Amethyst Kukri, Locke organized 7 competitions and co-organized another 9. In addition, he initiated and started working on a co-op competition with Tarentum, and although the competition was seen to fruition by the current summit, Locke was instrumental to the early organization and planning of the event. Locke's contributions to CNS as Consul, along with his general activity, is more than deserving of this Grand Cross. Congratulations, Locke!

Adept DarkHawk Sadow
Primary reason

The Elder recognition does not end in CNS! I have to be the luckiest PCon in the Club to be surrounded by all this amazing experience from prior Consuls. So it goes without saying that Adept Locke Sonjie is a member of that elite group of individuals. As Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos, the Adept is accompanied by another prominent Elder in running the day-to-day of the coveted House. Adept Sonjie’s sage leadership resonates throughout the Clan being constantly sought after from both Clan Summit and members throughout.

To help bolster gaming activity within the Clan, Adept Sonjie spearheaded and submitted a comprehensive list of games that our Summit regularly plays to the Clan. Enticing members to seek out games to be easily played for everyday competition/participation credit, as well as garnering more folks towards the gaming arena during our recent Great Jedi War. It was quickly implemented, and the Clan saw a very attractive upsurge in gaming participation which helped elevate the Clan’s overall placement within the recent GJW XV Ascension.

As a staunch gamer the Adept was able to lock down (no pun intended) a very impressive thrid place finish in the GJW’s Cluster race along with a first and second place finish in the Press the Button competition. He was a man on a mission and attacked that goal with dogged tenacity. Both he and his Aedile are constant frontrunners within the gaming community.

Adept Sonjie has kept himself on a steady track of activity. Not shying away from showcasing his abilities in the competition arena. Since his last recognition he has acquired himself the following list of accolades. Participating in forty five competitions and sixty two gaming matches. All this earned him twenty two Crescents, two hundred and forty Clusters of Fire and five Clusters of Ice. Let me not forget a colossal amount of seven hundred and eleven Clusters of Earth! He also earned six Clusters of Graphite and one Seal of Loyalty.

Having the Adept continue his leadership path is a true asset to the Clan. His extensive knowledge of ships and fleet acquisitions has helped both Houses and Clan build fleets that would rival any of our enemies. His assistance and inputs are a staple when it comes to reorging fleet and troop assets. Not to mention he is another vast resource of information and detail when it comes to furthering the Clan’s fictional expansion. He is a voice that approaches our development in a very pragmatic way, enriching the Clan’s immersion in our fictional development.

All that being said, Adept Locke Sonjie has set the example for all of us to emulate. A deserving leader that needs to be recognized. I wholeheartedly agree with awarding the Adept for this award and to showcase his contributions to the Clan. Thank you sir for everything you do for Clan Naga Sadow!
