Atra is taller than average for his race, standing a head above most of his peers. His shoulders are broad with a barrel chest dropping to a slender waist. His body is conditioned and fit, the skin so pale it appears to glow when reflecting moonlight. Scars mar the left side of his face leading to his left eye, hidden beneath his shaggy, dark brown hair - a result of genetic manipulation to hide his Umbaran heritage.
The scars of his face travel down his neck where they disappear into a mangled tapestry as flesh meets metal. Atra's left arm was - not so cleanly - severed by a bladed instrument and replaced with a cybernetic arm ending in a more talon-like than humanoid hand. He keeps this arm hidden beneath a cloak that clasps at the shoulder closer to his neck, maintaining the arm's hiding spot.
His piercing, pale grey right eye possesses golden flakes around the pupil, forming a star burst pattern. Atra's left eye is permanently corrupted, possessing the gold and red colouring associated with the Sith. The paleness of his features, framed by his abnormally dark hair, offer a stark contrast to the dark tones of his attire.
Beyond his blackened cloak, Atra adorns himself with a black tunic, held tight against his form via a variety of belts and straps. Beneath this tunic lies a grey, sleeveless turtle neck that appears just below the collar of his tunic which rises to his chin. Combat boots, thoroughly strapped as well, form the end to his tucked, black cargo pants complete with buckles and pockets. His last defining feature is a metallic, sanguine amulet shaped like a tribal dragon design, which he is always wearing attached to a dark string around his neck and is actually a storage device containing a holo of his deceased daughter.
Atra carries only his lightsaber, Vestigium of Duriel, that has a shortened grip requiring a single handed hold, or clasped hands.
Atra is unable to properly process his own emotions, which often causes him to appear cold and introverted. He can come across as confrontational and jovial within the same breath to his friends, and he often takes things at face value. Subtlety goes over his head more often than not, as he views the world with only passing interest and doesn't care to read into anything unworthy of his time. Life holds no meaning to his cold, calculating mind, only his own desires and goals. Still, he does not lack a certain fondness for sarcasm, utilizing it as a standard form of communication almost relentlessly.
Atra believes in only one constant, one objective; the galaxy must be cleansed, and born anew. To this end, he has made it his life's mission to eliminate all conflict from existence, under the title of "Xue Long". As the seasons change from the spring of life, to the decay of winter, so too does he embrace the coming snow. He is the architect of death, offering it as a kindness so that life may begin again, unimpeded by the trappings of conflict. Even his own life will be sacrificed if needed, so long as he follows his path.
The dark side corruption plaguing Atra leads to a more than unstable personality. His typically cold and calculating demeanor can suddenly shift into apparent insanity, dominated by a purely animalistic, bloodthirsty drive whilst retaining his cunning. These animal characteristics are ever present, manifesting in the form of growls, snarling, and other traits that would be attributed to someone raised by wolves so to speak. He is ruled by his baser instincts, giving into whatever the urge that comes over him - whether that means devouring his fallen prey or fulfilling his present urges. However, there are no defined intervals for his condition, turning him into a completely unpredictable foe and ally alike.
Holding his cards close to his chest doesn't even begin to cover things for Atra. One could say there is never a single action he takes that doesn't have multiple intentions. Even when apparently going out of his way to help an ally, it would be a safe bet that he, and he alone, benefits in some way. This apparently selfish nature is misleading, as it is not greed but his singular tenacity towards the completion of his goals. No action need be wasted if it always ends with a step in Atra's desired direction.
Atra weighs all enemies equally, at first. Through combat he judges the character and worth of his opponent and as such must be a blank slate himself. He closes off his emotions and leaves himself receptive to those of his enemies. The actions he sees there determine his own, causing him to fight honorably or otherwise. In this way, he mirrors the mindset of his opponent and decides if they are worthy of being killed or not. Due to this one on one nature, he can succumb to tunnel vision and lose sight of multiple targets.
Atra cares only for the battle. Whether it be against multiple foes or a singular target, he will forge head on with glee. This desire often causes him to require his opponents be at their best before engaging them. If they so require it, he will provide them with a weapon. While he requires this even starting point, Atra will not hesitate to take advantage of any weakness he perceives once the fighting starts. In fact, it is his aim to poke holes in his enemy's defenses, exposing their flaws so that they may learn from it, if they survive, and offer him a greater challenge. He is utterly relentless, fighting anything that comes before him, friend or foe.
