While Mar Sul has gone by a few different names, his dedication to our House has never wavered, and I feel he is due for a promotion to the Equite ranks.
Since his last promotion on March 23, 2012, he has remained an active and chatty presence on our IRC channel, being present on an almost daily basis. He has earnt 4 Clusters of Ice and 161 Clusters of Fire. He has earnt 5 Pendants of Blood and a Bronze Nova, a Dark Cross and an Anteian Cross, and a Sapphire, 4 Topaz and 3 Emerald Crescents. He has also mentored Lu`aisha Gresee to the rank of Jedi Knight, earning a Scroll of the Master.
In addition to all this, he has worked on several key wiki articles, including creating the Legion of Steel military group, updating our KUDF army, and contributing to or correcting pages on our Masters and Padawans, the Halls of the Watchmen, the Consular Order and the wiki page for our first team in the Krayiss II Dark Crusade event.
The thing that impresses me about Cable, however, is that he is always friendly, never complaining about his lack of recognition, and he is always committed to helping others and helping our House, from participating in major competitions like the Fading Light Vendetta (2 of 5 events in Round 3) and the Dark Crusade (5 events), to helping our members through the gruelling process of leveling up their characters in Diablo III, to helping our Summit with advice and ideas and more recently, becoming an active part of our Summit himself.
As the Battleteam Leader of the Disciples of Baas since September, he has done his best to motivate and encourage activity, resulting in two members participating in the third round of Fading Light with a perfect 5 of 5 record. He maintains good communication with us and his team and is working with us to ensure the Disciples get back on their feet. He has also been contributing to Summit discussions about the future direction of not only his own team, but along with A’lora they have been providing ideas, inspiration and a little early planning for the next big House fictional event.
I am proud to welcome you to the ranks of the Equites, Cable; I only wish it was done sooner. Well done.

Commonly known as Cable or simply “British”, Xaezhul is an example of a member that is no less dedicated to his House than most leaders. Having served a successful term as Battle Team Leader in the still-active Disciples of Bass for no less than six months, he is best known for his rich sense of humor and general fun-loving personality. He is a reminder that one does not need to see the Brotherhood as a business or military group in order to excel, and has passed on the same ideals to our greatest members. Having served alongside him as the acting Aedile, Xaezhul has passed on these same ideals to help me along as I struggled with the dreaded sense of politics found in some leaders. Responsible for having mentored his Padawan, Lu`aisha Gresee to knighthood for which he was awarded a Scroll of the Master, he further goes to show that one does not need to be a leader in order to inspire his fellow members.
His active personality can also be seen directly through his contributions towards events, such as gaming. In this alone, he has earned no less than an impressive five Pendants of Blood and 161 Clusters of Fire since his last promotion. In addition to this, he has also gone to great lengths to help out his fellow members to achieve the same excellent record, such as his ability to sit through several gruelling hours of helping a member level a character in Diablo III from the starting point, all the way through to the maximum level available in the game - which was the case in the month of September, as he helped me and a few others level several new seasonal characters in such a fashion. Along with this, he has gathered no less than nine Crescents, four being Emerald, four being Topaz and one being Sapphire, as well as having accumulated four Clusters of Ice and participated in twelve competitions, but this is change in comparison to his other contributions.
Continuing an already-impressive track record, he has participated in no less than five events in the Dark Crusade, earning five Seals of the Crusader and placing third one of these five events, earning a Bronze Nova for his efforts. In fact, the quality of his contributions was enough to warrant a Dark Cross for his submissions and activity during the Dark Crusade. Even more impressive was his work on helping me flesh out the structure of Odan-Urr’s largest project created and successfully tested in a House-wide environment. The “Jedi Vocational Corps” is a name that has been heard within Odan-Urr from our oldest members in passing. Now operating under the name “Mission Directory,” the project is still in development to bolster it to the point of reaching an even larger audience. That said, the Jedi Vocational Corps was not an easy task to undertake, and there are fewer that could have undertaken the most delicate tasks than Cable, who was both the primary tester and secondary developer of the project. His tasks included submitting to no less than an incredible eight randomly-generated mission prompts - which in effect operate much like a series of randomized full-scale competitions, as well as the generation of a few of these. He was also directly responsible for the creation of the templates and formatting used in the prompts. For these contributions, he was awarded an Anetian Cross.
Many months later, Xaezhul would return to his former position, which formerly bore the name “Battle Team Leaders of the Lightwalkers.” Now referred to as the Disciples of Baas, his leadership within a handful of days has excelled and exceeded my expectations. He is far more level-headed than any leader I have seen in the Brotherhood, and leads from the front lines with a smile, and no small degree of charm. This was shown recently, during a House-wide event known as Affliction, wherein he has participated in four of the six sub-competitions, as well as having earned credit for the parent competition.
Stretching forward a month later, Cable has participated heavily in the third round of Fading Light. So far in its running, he has participated in at least two competitions, with two weeks still remaining for him to finish a complete participation count.
With all of this said, Cable continues to be a valued asset to House Odan-Urr, and most of his work has gone un-rewarded. I believe that this has been overlooked for far too long, therefore I would like to help present him with a promotion to the Equites. Congratulations!

Members who become Equites cross a threshold into a new world of responsibility, dependability, and maturity. Becoming one is a sign that a member has gone beyond the world of simple tasks and short goals, and has gone into a world of high expectations and rich rewards. Not a lot of those who join this club become a part of this elite group; as such, when someone becomes an Equite, it is an occasion for celebration.
Such is the case of Mar Sul, known fondly as either Cable or Caleb by his peers.
Caleb is the type of member you rely upon when you run a House. He has been active, vocal, and present since before I became Quaestor; he has been loyal to this House, to its Summit, and to me since I have known him, if not far longer. While his achievements are detailed above, it is his character that truly denotes him as an Equite. Some members go quiet when things get tough, or run away; Caleb rolls his sleeves up and asks where he can help. Some members wait for a checklist of things to do, or a task to be assigned to them. Caleb instead presents ideas for projects, seeks to aid members below him, and offers advice to his leadership. Some wait for members to mentor them; Caleb has not only sought to teach others, but has in fact taken the lead role of the Disciples of Baas, our mentorship team.
Caleb is an Equite, and it is about damned time he is recognized as one. Congratulations, my friend - you've fought hard for us from day one. Let this show you that we've noticed.
