Uji’s first Master among the Jedi trained him to have a great respect for the Force, a respect that has developed over the years to become something akin to religion for Uji. Overtime, this has developed in some aspect to more closely represent his own view of himself and his existence within the Force. Uji has never been truly been entirely dark, or entirely light: he has always existed in the shadow of both aspects of the Force. In this way, “the Shadows” is where Uji finds his belief in the Force, and that belief is what guides him to maintain his sense of honor, even when engaging in immoral acts.

Uji is well aware that he is not a good man: a history of murder and violence has driven away any belief in himself being a “good man”. No matter what he does, he will never wash the blood from his hands; but he does believe he can make a difference for others. He is willing to use his training, use his years of experience, to remove evil from the Galaxy. It may not cleanse his soul, but it may keep others from ever falling as far as he has.

Above all else, Uji is a proud man, and his pride drives him to both great and horrible things. When he sets himself to a goal, he will see it through, even to his own detriment or that of others. While this can make him valuable to the Clan at times, - if ordered by the right person, he'd burn cities down for Arcona - it can make him difficult in equal measure, as he rarely has qualms in telling his superiors when he disagrees with them. That stubbornness transfers into everything he does, including fighting opponents until he is physically unable to continue.

Uji once feared the cold center of his being that led him to the deaths of so many people without remorse. After joining the Brotherhood, he embraced his anger, passion and desire, running from that same numbness while embracing the power of the dark side. However, as he has grown to power within the Brotherhood, he has time and again been forced to embrace that cold center, and now finds it almost a comfort to slip back into feeling nothing. Those who know him know that when he’s at his most calm, he is his most dangerous.

Uji has time again had those he loves used against him, through mind tricks, illusions and faceless assassins. Two of his regular sparring partners have worked to shore his mental defenses through repeatedly abusing his desire to protect those he cares for. When people attempt to fool him by using those he holds close, it’s more likely to anger him than it is to disturb him.

Uji has spent years learning to control his own body. When engaged, he spares no energy in his movements: every thrust, spin, or parry uses only what is absolutely necessary. His training by the Shadicar, often regarded as the deadliest assassins in the galaxy, have honed his capabilities to perfection. Now far more capable of enhancing his natural athleticism with his talent in the Force, Uji can fight far longer and control his movements to a near supernatural extent. The trade-off, though, is that he holds absolutely no talent in ranged combat with the Force, having focused so entirely on his own physical abilities.
