Trained as a medic, Xan was taught the Hippocratic Oath when dealing with others. He follows it, believing in it more than the Jedi Code, as he believes the Jedi Code leads people to play "God". While most medic's have "Do No Harm" drilled into their head, Xan knows that such a thing can never happen, and even laughs when other Medics mention it, to many medics annoyance.

He was taught to never be ashamed to mention when he doesn't know something. He was raised to respect the privacy of patients, and to not play god. He learned that preventing disease is always better than curing it, and that there is an art to medicine. Finally, he will always mention he is a member of regular society, and that being a medic does not make him better than anyone.

Having trained in Paonga, Xan has fallen in love with the two elements of the style. He has adapted the elements into a mental state as well, following from a flexible, adaptable mindset, and can change rapidly into a stubborn, brave, and inflexible mindset. In combat, it allows him to flow through a battlefield, until he decides it is time to fight. Most of his compatriots are used to this by now, but to those unfamiliar with it he seems to be erratic, if not bi-polar.

Xan has known about his Force Sensitivity for only a year. While this limits his experience with the Force, it has opened up new lines of thought for uses of the Force. Trained as a medic for most of his life, and trained to fight in wars, Xan decided to try and experiment with force abilities, and tries to find many uses for each ability he learns. He has tried to turn offensive powers into abilities to save lives. For example, he has tried to turn Force Shock into a defibrillator, but does not yet have enough control over it.

This ingenuity allows him to look at everything from many angles, however he may lose sight of what is actually practical to reach a goal.

Xan believes that he must help everyone he can. Regardless of what happens to himself, he will do whatever it takes to save anyone. He will risk his life for anyone. While his goal is to protect people, he will fight if need be. To protect people he will often have to hurt others, especially when on the battlefield.

Growing up a soldier, Xan on recently discovered his force sensitivity. Because of this, he spent most of his youth learning medicine and how to fight. He became a combat medic in the New Tython military. When he discovered his Force Sensitivity, he began to train in powers that heal, and to help others. He see's the Force mostly as a healing tool, but if pushed, he will use it to fight.

While he can fight, if he sees an injured ally, he will rush to their aid regardless of the danger to him.

Xan, like all Dashade lives with a constant hunger to consume the life force of everything, and has taught himself to fight off such hunger using his loyalty to the Hippocratic Oath and his Dual mindsets. However he can not overcome it completely and in battle he can become possessed by the hunger, changing drastically and becoming little more than a beast. This allows him to heal faster as he devours his foe's but makes him a liability when in a group. Normally this takes being in close proximity to a foe for an extended period of time and can be halted by switching between Wobow and Kranni, but if he see's people die when he could have saved them, it is far more likely he will lose control.
