Trained as a medic, Xan was taught the Hippocratic Oath when dealing with others. He follows it, believing in it more than the Jedi Code, as he believes the Jedi Code leads people to play "God". While most medic's have "Do No Harm" drilled into their head, Xan knows that such a thing can never happen, and even laughs when other Medics mention it, to many medics annoyance.

He was taught to never be ashamed to mention when he doesn't know something. He was raised to respect the privacy of patients, and to not play god. He learned that preventing disease is always better than curing it, and that there is an art to medicine. Finally, he will always mention he is a member of regular society, and that being a medic does not make him better than anyone.

Xan was never one to go easy. While many carry around weapons, he was to focused on Medicine and physical training. As such, he has no real training with weapons. Instead, he will often start with the Broken Gate form, and use the more conservative Hapan form either when caught off guard, or when he begins to tire.

While this kind of fighting is flawed against weapons, Xan's prefered method of fighting is to push foes back with a continuous barrage of strikes. Unlike many who use more tiring forms, he uses these more "basic" fighting forms with his stamina to fight as long as he can. If he can strike first, he will. Afterall he has patients who need him.

Xan believes that he must help everyone he can. Regardless of what happens to himself, he will do whatever it takes to save anyone. He will risk his life for anyone. While his goal is to protect people, he will fight if need be. To protect people he will often have to hurt others, especially when on the battlefield.

Growing up a soldier, Xan saw first hand the miracles of medicine. Because of this, he spent most of his youth learning medicine and how to fight. He became a combat medic in the New Tython military. While many of his contemporaries believe his devotion to medicine make him dangerous due to his race, those able to look past that see him for what he is. A kind soul trying to help as many people as he can.

While he can fight, if he sees an injured ally, he will rush to their aid regardless of the danger to him.

Having learned of Paonga, Xan has fallen in love with the two elements of the style. He has adapted the elements into a mental state as well, following from a flexible, adaptable mindset, and can change rapidly into a stubborn, brave, and inflexible mindset. In combat, it allows him to flow through a battlefield, until he decides it is time to fight. Most of his compatriots are used to this by now, but to those unfamiliar with it he seems to be erratic, if not bi-polar. While not a practitioner of the style, he loves this aspect of it.
