Kelly Mendes has filled many roles in Plagueis: activity dynamo, rollmaster extrodinare, and even Queen of Games. Her level of activity is absolutely second to none, and all the while she was killing it competitively she was often doing even better as a leader in Clan Plagueis.

In the realm of personal activity, she has participated in 53 competitions since her last promotion. As part of that activity, during the Between Light and Dark feud between Plagueis and Odan-Urr she entered 9 of a possible 11 events and lead her house in participation. She took first place in both feud gaming events during the feud and ended up scoring fourth overall in the feud. Her feud activity alone netted her an Anteian Cross for her efforts. All told since her last promotion, she has earned 13 crescents with her activity (3 diamond, 5 amethyst, 3 sapphire, and 1 each of emerald and topaz). Gaming wise, Kelly has always been a force to be reckoned with. Personally reporting 70 PvP matches and 6 PvE activities (and probably taking part in even more), she has earned 7 pendants of blood and 263 clusters of fire while putting lie to the idea that Pazaak is just about luck. Fiction wise she has earned 10 clusters of ice and also completed 4 ACC matches as well. As a student in the Shadow Academy, she has continued to broaden her education with 5 SA courses, 2 Novitiate Hall courses, and a Dark Maven degree.

As a leader, Kelly has been invaluable to Clan Plagueis in her service as Clan Rollmaster. Tasked with shepherding the Clan’s novitiates and journeymen, Kelly oversaw the efforts of both the Battleteam Leaders and individual Masters to create a unified program to guide members to Knighthood. Under her tenure as Rollmaster between December 2015 and March 2016 her efforts saw four members reach the rank of Knight (Kryy Vitaan, Gad Rane, Areticus Atlainatus, and Kul'tak Drol), work that helps secure the future of our Clan. She also filed her mid-month reports on time each month during her tenure, working with her Battleteam Leader subordinates to ensure they provided their monthly contributions to the reports in order to get our junior leaders into the habit of filing reports themselves to serve them after they ascended higher up the ranks of Plagueis. She also organized 10 competitions and co-organized 1 more since her last elevation. Additionally, Kelly has moved beyond simply Clan Leadership and service as well, showing the kind of Brotherhood wide drive and perspective that mark the best in our Club. She has served nearly six months as Magistrate to the Master at Arms, and I’m sure that her boss there will cover that service below. Also, in addition to her studies at the Shadow Academy, she has also served as Docent for the Leadership Competitions course and graded 47 exams in her capacity there while earning four Scrolls of Foundation for her service.

Whether it be to herself, her clan, or the Brotherhood as a whole, Kelly has provided service that marks her as standing out from the crowd. I thank her for what she has done and continues to do day in and day out to make Plagueis a better place, be it running competitions or being a constant voice in our Clan’s Telegram channel looking to build our community through positive contributions. As such, it is my great honor to come before you to request her advancement to the rank of Savant.

The Queen of Pazaak, Kelly Mendes. Beyond the amazing gaming turnout, you are an amazing overall player, member and individual. Everything you do is not only for your benefit as a member, but also the betterment of the Clan. From competitions completed to advice given, you always act above your station. This attitude and work ethic, along with your activity mentioned above, is clear reason why you are so deserving of thia promotion. Bravo!

Having known kelly since before she entered the DJB and having brought here to the fold myself, I look back on what she has accomplished with more than a little pride. As for pazaak queen? That title belonged to me long ago, but now it truly does belong to Kelly. Her quest for pazaak glory is unrelenting and I find myself doubting my abilities if I ever have to play her now. As for her role in the club? None is more deserving of the increase in rank from Mystic to Savant than her. She did a fantastic job in the role of RM, and even outside that role her main aim was always to make sure that everyone in the club enjoyed themselves. Note that there is no 'I' in the name Kelly Mendes; she always strives to put everyone before herself as she has done so many times in the DJB.

A good friend, mentor to some, and just a fantastic team player. Kelly is more than deserving of her new title. Well done, Kelly. Keep being awesome!

Kelly has continued to serve admirably as a Master at Arms Magistrate over the last five months. She takes an active role in our discussions on merit and promotion requests, is quick to process requests herself, and eager to continue working with Howie and I on refining and bettering the Brotherhood's system of member recognition both now and in the future. A lot of this work boils down to a day to day presence, and it is those members who can commit to checking in each day who maintain our bedrock. Thank you, Kelly, for these many months of hard work. I assisted in your last promotion and am honored and proud to be helping you pass another milestone in your bright career. I hope you will carry your many lessons from our time together with you as you tackle bigger and greater challenges.
