It is my honor to be recommending Nicolai “Rod” Rodell for promotion to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. Rod has spent 28 days as a Jedi Hunter and has earned a Dark Cross. He has participated in 15 competitions and earned a Crescent with Emerald Star. Rod has reached the fifth rank in the GMRG and in the Shadow Academy Societies. He has been awarded 521 clusters of fire and 3 Pendants of Blood. Additionally he has written over 3000 words of approved character fiction. Finally Rod has earned himself four non-Pundit Shadow Academy degrees being that of: Maven of Philosophy, Maven of Lore, Maven of Galactic History, and Maven of History and Lore

Rod is they type of Journeyman that is a blessing to their Master. With Rod it has never been a question of if he will reach Knighthood but when. The man has been nothing short of a dynamo since reaching Clan Arcona. Rod let me be the first to congratulate you on a job well done, you have more than earned this. Enjoy your saber Brother.

Over the past few months I have had the pleasure of getting to know Rod. I say getting to know because he required very little guidance from me as a master, often completing the requirements for the next rank before hitting his current one. In fact, Rod is on track to surpass me in most avenues of Brotherhood activity (which is saying something because I’m no slouch). In the short time Rod has been with us he has tore up the Shadow Academy, won our Master/Apprentice ACC battle, beat me out in the gaming portion of the first phase of GJW XI (logging 277 Jedi Academy matches and winning 203 of them!), and ranked among the all time high scorers in the Antei Combat Bureau pilot. He has already recruited another member into the Clan who will serve as his apprentice once the formality of Knighting is complete. If I’m not careful he’ll have my job in six months.

All this is as it should be. Rod and members like him represent the future of House Qel-Droma. He is a natural leader that I expect we will see great things from in the future. I should probably get started on his Equite recommendation. Rod has entered the Great Jedi War and held his own against the crustiest veterans among us. He is passionate, driven, and just a really cool guy to hang out with. It has been an honor and a privilege to have Rod as a student and a member of my house. As my character said in Rod’s Knighting fiction, “Today I lose an apprentice, but gain a brother.”

Over the past few week one could not simply go into the Arcona Irc channel and not see Rod there cheering on his clan mates, there is something that I can take pride in when i give this recommendation for him to be elevated to DJK.

No matter what the challenge not matter the competition Rod as always stepped up to the plate and out performed and gave a 110% percent every time not matter what. And as his Battle team Leader I there is nothing that fills me with more pride than to give the promotion when its due

Since the moment Rod joined Arcona, he’s been a maelstrom of activity, often having to only wait for his time-in-rank to elapse towards that next promotion. Nothing has changed; in fact, he was either already ready or a single requirement short of Dark Jedi Knight the moment he became a Jedi Hunter. From working with Rod as Battleteam Leader of Arete to Aedile of Qel-Droma, Rod has been an absolute pleasure to work with.

His absolute stellar performance both in the recent Clan Run-On and the Great Jedi War has been nothing short of amazing to see. And that’s nothing to say on his dominance in the Antei Contract Bureau. It felt as though I were knocking out the fiction prompt, turned around and was being told he was ready for a new contract..

In my opinion, Nicolai “Rod” Rodell has gone so far above and beyond what is both required and expected of Journeyman and is more than deserving of his promotion to Dark Jedi Knight. It’s been long overdue. Rod, my friend, your work and effort has paid off. This is but the first true step into your potential. I look forward to what you do as you continue.
