Lavanth can only see darkness. This also affects his views of people. He believes that no one ever changes. People who are evil will remain so and those who are good will remain so. Temporary change is possible but everyone goes back to the original them in the end. This leads to Lavanth's inherent distrust of everyone.
Lavanth is physically blind. His eyes suffered terrible burns and were unable to be healed in time. He now relies on his montrals and other senses in order to see. This tends to make it hard to sneak up on him. When speaking with others he attempts to look in their general direction.
Lavanth has a hard time trusting others. This can lead to him giving other members a hard time or just being unkind to them. If however they earn his trust, they earn his undying loyalty.
Lavanth often jokes about his own blindness. It's his way of coping with it, yet if others he doesn't know try to make jokes about his lack of sight he takes offence and can be prone to threatening or hostility.
When people get in close Lavanth reverts to CQC. A self developed technique where he uses his gun's bayonets and firing the guns at close range. This loses effectiveness against those with formal training of martial arts.
Despite being physically blind, Lavanth has trained rigorously to use his Montrals' echolocation abilities alongside his Sense and Precognition to better handle threats that enter his sphere of awareness. This allows him to recognize threats quicker and gives him more time to act, but he is still limited in his ability to pinpoint targets. To compensate, he will often fire more bullets than needed, which can create an effective killzone. While lethal, this tactic often disregards collateral damage and makes it difficult for him to fight effectively in a team, and leaves him vulnerable to longer ranged attackers that keep outside of his "zone".
