Primary reason: Oric is someone who has amassed an impressive body of work as a long tenured member of Plagueis. He has fulfilled many of the traditional promotion guidelines, but has well overshot the mark in others. As a competitor, he hasn't just submitted to eight competitions. He hasn't just submitted to fifteen competitions. He's overshot that meager number with a total of forty-eight total competitions to amass a number of competitions six times the basic requirement and earned six competition award crescents as well. He has been awarded three merit awards in the form of an Anteian Cross and a pair of Dark Crosses. He has reached the Shadow Academy Society rank VIII (exceeding the guideline requirement of rank IV). And how has he blown away that requirement? By earning not one non-pundit degree but ten degrees in the form of seven Mavens, two Savants, and one Sage.

While the straight number metrics show that Oric still needs to do more to reach the rank of JM4 and reach his knighthood, the more critical eye can see beyond the ones and zeros. Oric has done more than most in the aggregate of all of his activities than most who reach that rank, and so it is past time for Oric to be elevated and be awarded the rank of Knight. Primary reason: Some people would get disheartened if they didn't blitz through the ranks in minimum time, Oric Ral is not one of those people. Instead, he seeks to improve within the time constraints placed upon him by the cruellest monster that is real life. This commitment to contribution is something that we need more of, and with Oric, I'm glad to say I can point to someone who isn't in one of the fancier ranks but does things regardless. All told, Oric has participated in 18 competitions, earning crescents with Topaz, Sapphire, Amethyst and Diamond stars for his efforts. Oric is multi-faceted passing 18 SA courses (including Leadership Rewards) earning two degrees in the process. Oric has also earned an Anteian cross for his actions and has received 9 Clusters of Fire from 2 PvE activities. Not to stick to one kind of cluster, he has also picked up 2 clusters of graphite.
